Have you heard of something called multiverse theory, Naomi-san? It is possible that even despite being what appears to be the same world and the possibly even the same time period, there are still subtle differences that exist that change the fundamental make up of our existences. In other words, we could very well be from variations on the same world. You'll understand then, if I remain skeptical about what value a specific time period will have in furthering your investigation. Unless, of course, you are willing to delve into the specific events that happened around the 2002 of your world.
Granted, you do have every right to be alarmed given your circumstances, but think of it from our perspective. Who is to say that you aren't some monstrosity coming in from another world? The Author seems to have a penchant for such individuals.
