[John didn't know what to expect nor has he met Mello in person until now. He chose to stand at the end of the hallway and watches with his hands in his coat pockets and his hat still on his head. There was no need to raise a ruckus over something he didn't know about and decided to walk on. Still, something pulled to him to take a look as he passed by. Something felt empty and John wasn't going to ignore his gut instincts.

It seems that the one that once resided in that room wasn't the only one that left. There were others too and he felt it. He wasn't about to poke and pry. It was time to carry on and this time, he did so quietly.]

[Conan stops not too far off from Mello and glances from him to the door. He knows that look. Being a detective it was one he'd seen most often on the faces of victims friends and family.]

[Though Light may not have physically seen the reclusive detective for himself, the significance of that room, or rather lack of significance, is something Light is keenly aware of. To know that its inhabitant is gone, is a victory in every sense of the word. Though L may have succeeded in returning home, Light has the pleasure of knowing that he would die soon after, a pathetic failure in his arms. The look on Mello's face is, as the late detective might have put it, icing on the cake. A cherry on the proverbial sundae. A small smirk appears at the irony of how much sweeter life felt when the sweet detective was gone. Light doesn't stop here though; he moves on through the hallway, with the slightest hint of a spring in his step.]
