I think no snow is a pre-requisite for a good winter in my book.

[While a big part of him hated his homeland, another part of him was desperately homesick. He missed the language, the climate, the sites, the food, and the culture. While he was very much an outsider to most Italians, he knew how to blend in and look like he belonged. Even his little gestures would fit in, and he wasn't as awkward as he was in Japan. In Japan he had to think about everything he did before hand to see if it would make sense to the culture. It was hard, and he missed just being able to act as normal and not really be thought of as some strange foreign creature.

He let that guard down around Ryuutaro a little bit. He knew there was no way he could hide something like that to someone so close. Still, he had to keep it in check enough so that Ryuutaro understood what he was doing and why.
