Pripyat: 01 - Elizabeth
[As soon as she'd opened her eyes, she'd known something was very wrong. Elizabeth hadn't woken up in the cell she'd been locked in in the Manor, but instead, a dim, unfamilliar room. After looking through the room and soon the apartment, she realized that, not only was she no longer in the Manor, but no longer in the same country as the Manor. The language in the books and around the apartment block was not one she recognised. As she found her way outside, she noticed how completely and utterly silent it was. It was apparent that, unlike some of the other places the Author had sent them, the residents were not together for this event. As happy as she was to be out of the make shift cell, this place seemed...dead. Even the air was still.
As she makes her way down the road, Elizabeth notices that, not only are there no people, but no wildlife. She wasn't going to lie, the quiet was starting to get to her. It was't the same as waking up in the middle of the night; at least when that happened, she knew that there were other people around her. Here, however, she couldn't be certain of that. And that worried her more than she thought it would. Glancing around her, she picks up her pace, hoping that she'd find Ichabod, or her father, or anyone else from the Manor at that.]

The silence was eerie enough to make his blood run cold.]
Elizabeth!
no subject
Where are you..??
[The loudness of her own voice startled her slightly, and she now felt rather exposed, as if responding to him gave away her whereabouts to whoever, or whatever, else may have been in the city with them.]
no subject
[He began running toward the sound of her voice. He hoped he was right in the choice of direction and allowed himself to run at full pace. His pistol was strapped to his side as well as the powder and shot on his belt.]

The moment he saw her, he immediately sprinted and wrapped his arms around her in a protective way, drawing his pistol with his eyes looking everywhere.]
Let us find shelter. The quicker we are out of here the sooner we can rest and sort out this dilemma.
no subject
Yes, this place is awful - I've seen nothing else alive thus far
no subject
It is though not entirely hopeless. We will survive.
no subject
I know; come on, we should get off of the road..where do you propose we stay? I woke up in what seemed to be a bedroom..but it, everything in it, belonged to someone else - a family..
no subject
You have better knowledge than I. We shall go to the place where you woke up since it is the last know place that seemed at least hospitable, yes?
no subject
They're apparently all the same on the inside as the outside..this plce should be good as any.
[Letting go of his hand, she rounds a corner nearby, and turns back]
Here - I came down a set of stairs just like these - the rooms are up there
no subject
[He followed her up the stairs. He wasn't entirely sure what was going on other than the Author decided to throw them in a world they were unfamiliar with only this time it wasn't like the island.]
I trust you.
[He takes mental notes of the surrounding area should they be separated, which is unlikely but it can happen, so he can return here if necessary.
He reached for her hand gently with a concerned expression.]
I'm not one to dredge up the past often though I would like to talk to you about Mello. I'm sorry I came to you late.
[He lowered his gaze and thought it was better that they stayed together here than apart.]
I have made a promise to be there for you though I have failed now twice.
Heya! Sorry for the delay - getting new icons for Lizzie~
It's not your fault; you couldn't have predicted how he would act. I don't blame you for anything, and therefore you shouldn't be pulling that face
[She says this with a smile as she reaches out and tilts his face back up]
Besides, it looks as if in this place, we'll have to be there for each other; who knows what the Author still has in mind.
Ooh!! I'm still working on cleaning up Jack's. It's a slow process.
Then I shall not dwell.
[It was more of a reassurance on his part that he's wanting to move forward. He continued to follow her up the stairs.]
This place....remember when you asked me about my world and what it looked like?
But it'll be worth it in the end~
[As they reach the top of the stairs, Elizabeth stops. The long corridor before them was certainly enough to give anyone the creeps; it was completely silent, with very little light, each identical door giving off a dead, omnious air. She proceeded the next few steps with more child like caution than before]
..I suppose if any of the doors will open, any of these rooms should suffice..
Yeppers!!
The world I came from was a desolate place. The atmosphere was dark and foggy most times. The supernatural was natural.
[His hand subconsciously rubbed his left shoulder where he was stabbed by the Horseman. He hoped that she wouldn't have to see it. Thankfully the black tendrils hadn't spread since Elizabeth was grounding him and helped him keep his curse in line.]
This place is what Sleepy Hollow became after the Horseman crossed the bridge. No one wanted to stay.
no subject
This one's open..
[At his description of Sleepy Hollow, her eyes widen a little]
Like this place? I'm not surprised people left..
no subject
True.
[He moves around the apartment and his arm began to ache. His voice drops to a whisper.]
So many memories.....
no subject
..what happened here..
no subject
I am uncertain. It is as if...the people simply vanished...without a trace.
[He inhales deeply and his exhale was shaky. It wasn't fear. It was sympathy he felt. He turned his palms up and the small holes began to bleed.]
Something terrible has happened here.
[He looks over his shoulder at the pictures on the wall of a small family with a toddler and an infant.]
As if...they were forced to leave.
no subject
You're bleeding! Are you alright..?
no subject
I'm fine.
[His eyes snapped open with a gasp when he heard the sirens.]
The sound....it was deafening....as if it was meant to warn....what happened here.
no subject
I don't understand, I don't hear anything - what sirens..?
[In all honesty he was scaring her a little, with his hands bleeding and the way he was speaking. She tried to look him in the eyes, but he seemed..vacant, as if he was looking at something only he could see]

[She reached out and grabbed him as he started to fall, trying to make sure he didn't hurt himself as he fell. Kneeling down next to him, Elizabeth started to panic a little; she had no idea what was wrong with him nor what she should do..]
Ichabod, can you hear me..?? Please, I don't know what's wrong..
no subject
What- why are we on the floor?
[It was as if nothing had changed or anything has happened. He can't recall a single moment of it as he looks at his hands and sighs with a click of his tongue.]
I seem to have hurt my hands again....ugh.
[He looks at Elizabeth and gives a sheepish grin.]
Could you please reach into my breast pocket to grab my handkerchief? I wish not to get any on your person.
[He notices her panic and sits up slowly.]
Is something the matter, darling?
no subject
You..fell - You started talking about a deafening sound, and then you started to shake, and fell
[Pulling away, she then did as he asked, and retrieved his handkerchief, pressing it gently into his palm]
I'm sorry - I didn't know what to do for you..I panicked
no subject
[He seems lost in his thoughts for a moment as he tries to process it. He clears his throat and looks to her, searching her face for any indication of fear about him.
His good hand gently lifts her chin while his thumb on his bad hand lightly caresses her pressing hand.]
I'm glad that you are here. I know very little of what has happened yet I am certain that this place will plague my dreams until an answer is found. I troubled you when I should not have. The fault is my own.
no subject
It's no one's fault, but..may I ask..what happened? With your hands, and what you were saying before you fell
no subject
My hands...they were like this from the time my mother was killed and every now and again, they bleed when something terrible has happened in my sleep. This is the first time that I have encountered the bleeding during the day and conscious.
[His brow furrowed as he tried to piece it all together without frightening her.]
no subject
I've never heard of anything like that before..so, you're suggesting that, like we thought, this place has a damned past..?
no subject
[He moves to stand up slowly and helps Elizabeth to her feet.]
no subject
How would we begin to find out? Nothing seems out of place, other than the lack of life. Even on the outside, everything simply looks like time just stopped..
[She looks back at him.]
I suggest we investigate, now that we know that there is both food and good shelter are availible
no subject
Agreed.
[He didn't want to part from her but in order to understand the world around them a little better, it was best to go about the day in a more productive way. He moves to stand up.]
I feel better now and yes, an investigation is best in this circumstance.
After re-reading these tags, I just realized how Ichabod-esque she just sounded >_>;;
[Moving past him, she opens the door again, and gestures out into the corridor]
If we're going to do this, we may as well do so while it's still light out
[Yeah, she's not going to wander too far out of his sight ^_^;; ]
LMAO They're rubbing off on each other. XD
My thoughts exactly.
