(Gustave's daemon, LaDawn, is currently a fruit bat, flying lazily around the room. Gustave is sat on his bed in his room smiling to himself as he reads a piece of paper. The envelope on the bed beside him has a phrase written in beautiful, elegant flowing writing, it says 'Amor Numquam Moritur' )

LaDawn, the letter is from Mr... I mean it's from...

(the bat lands on the bed and then becomes a red squirrel, climbing up to his shoulder and peering at the letter)

You may as well start calling him 'father', you'll have to eventually.

It's what Mother would have wanted, isn't it?

(the squirrel nods)

What did he say?

He said 'always look for the beauty underneath'.

That was it?

(Gustave nods, bet then he grins and starts to hum to himself)
