[As the last of the winds are dying down and the snow is settling, there's a presence around the lake's edge by the remains of the shrine...]

[The ice at the edge, still frozen, begins to bloom red, as if somehow bleeding from within, and at the darkest part of it, a black, inkblot shadow moving where none should be, to stop as an indistinct figure at the edge of the ice.]

[There's a short broadcast over the network at this time - starting with a burst of static, through which can faintly be heard voices and indistinct sound, then a brief video feed of the devastated grounds from where the shadow stands - the shrine in the foreground, and a woman's voice - Alessa, at "actual age".]

The storm isn't over...

[The static flickers and the feed dies - network replies from her may not be very clear or stable.]

[The cold and the scent of two of her friends made Toothless concerned. Something didn't feel right and the Airbending dragon couldn't just sit in the barn to do nothing about it. She had to know what was going on and the disturbance around her made her scales tingle with dread with a slight bit of trepidation mixed with curiosity.

She never felt like this before. Braving the cold, she stepped out of her barn. Her squat body didn't offer much to ground movement and her tail was much too long to lift in the air. She uses her airbending to lift off the ground to keep her feet from getting too cold and with a spread of her wings, she set out to find out what was happening around her.

She started with the gardens and wanted to work her way out....]

[He knew something was wrong. He knew it when he was woken up in the middle of the night, it hadn't been a dream that had done it. The dozens of shrieking voices came from somewhere else and the hot surge of fear that woke him had come from something terrible and unknown. Now that the storm had died away Touya was tromping his way through the three-foot snow drifts towards the shrine, driven there by his sixth sense.

What he found terrified him. No wonder the spirits were in such chaos. The shrine was GONE. He turns on his blackberry but doesn't bother privating his message]

Yuki...it's awful.

[Uneven breathing heard as the audio suddenly comes on]

[and is just as abruptly cut off. Naomi puts a hand to her temple, frustrated at her impulsiveness. She had to be careful. He already knows her voice after all. Voice, face, name, everything! For all she knows, she was and still is under that monster's control. Frantically, the former FBI agent switches to text instead.]

Who's in charge here? I need to get to the closest police station. Please, it's urgent!

[Not even they could be completely trusted, but god, she was finally free from that unnatural, unbearable death wish that had smothered her for what seemed like an eternity, she was finally free to think, and who knows for how long such freedom will last. Her finger flies toward the "send" button but pauses at the last second. Naomi reads over the note she had just written in that obvious rush of panic. Ugh, like an agitated mess.]

Thank you.

[She decides to tack on for good measure before ending the feed along with a long overdue exhale.]

(ooc: She'll be ultra paranoid with the first few people who respond but will get progressively calmer further down the line as she comes to terms with what's actually going on.)

[Raven's sat in the kitchen, trying to make tea but failing miserably. The previous week she'd only had a little trouble with the pyrokinesis she'd been bestowed with, but now it seemed everything else was trying to sabotage her morning routine. When she tried to fill up the kettle, the water would float away from the tap. When she got frustrated with said problem, she'd accidentally set something alight.

She hoped this plot would only last two weeks; she had enough of an ordeal dealing with her usual amount of power, but with this sudden onset of new abilities, she wasn't sure she could cope for too long

[Yomiko is in the library, looking through books to unlock some information on her new airbending ability. It wasn't that she wasn't used to having a power, considering her unique talents with paper, but this was very different. She turned her back to grab some more off the shelf, and jumped when she heard a loud THUD. Placing the books carefully on the table, Yomiko walks up to the window another crow hits the window and then falls. The scene slightly disturbs her, but she turns back to her research. To her shock, some of the pages of her books have been torn out and strewn across the floor.]

Hm, this is strange. Maybe I can find out what's causing this.

[Yomiko goes to the bookcase, determined to find answers. There is a book on the highest shelf, and she is unable to reach. She picks up a piece of the torn book, and mainpulates it into a stool so she can reach.]
