[ Scattered across the floor of the chemistry lab were some pages filled with notes which had fallen from a half empty folder lying upon the table. The remaining contents of the folder may not be very legible in the future due to the over turned mug on top of it. Coffee was soaking through the folder and papers, the beverage slowly dripping from the table's edge and onto the floor.

And upon the ground there was no mistaking just what sort of substance stained it. Lying there with a lab coat covering the body was Haibara. Her face was to the floor but the style of hair and its color would help to identify the victim. Once again she had gone to work late in the chemistry lab that night but not without unfortunate consequences this time around.

From what could be seen of the body the skin had been removed from the limbs and arms, leaving her pajamas stained and torn up. Patches of skin did remain though but the majority of it all had been removed. It left behind a distinct pattern that would be noticeable where the cuts were seen. For whoever would move the body later, her face would show the same pattern in cuts from where even more patches of skin were removed. ]

*Heiji opened the door to his bedroom and took two steps in before realizing something was seriously wrong. His room was never clean, for one, and even with that fact there was a lot of stuff missing from his desk and walls.

Confused, the detective turned and peered back into the hall to ask his mom if she did something while he was in the shower, but what he saw stopped him short. This wasn't the hallway he'd just left. Too many doors.*

What's goin' on?

*Intent on getting to the bottom of this, Heiji decided to explore, hoping to find someone around who could explain where he was and what the hell happened to him.*

Via Emma, to the rest of the investigations team as outlined in the OOC post )

B's Hideouts - OOC notes! )

[OOC Notes: This will be the post for chasing B! A minute after if there's no backtalk, the specific orders will go out - they'll each be individual tags, but everyone will hear what the other's assignments are. Use them as the category-headers that'd normally be up; there's free godmod rights on Soma's tracking going through finding B's hideouts, so those can be opened/watched etc. whether B's there or not.]

[This whole mess had Balthier of two minds. As a Sky Pirate, his main concern of getting involved was: what's in it for me?. However as an ex-Archadian Judge, he still felt the supposed morals they had, keeping people safe, what was right and wrong. Things he claimed he cast aside. Whilst he was proud of the way he could play his roles well, Fran had known him too long to be fooled by this mummer's farce. Just as Agent Misora had instructed he'd boarded up the ventilation ducts, kept the door locked when they were in or out of the room, and generally avoided going anywhere public. Yes, he could handle himself, but as soon as the perpetrator started using underhanded methods like drugging his victims, something just struck the sky pirate as depraved.  There was only so long that he could force himself to last something like this out until not doing anything began to give him (in his eyes) a bad name.

That Tris girl, was it? She mentioned something about creating a protected room with a magicks barrier of sorts. He respected Fran, and knew she could handle herself better than he himself, but. This was a different kind of warfare. Chemicals vs magicks. Somehow he didn't think that a simple Esuna would fix a paralysing drug. It set him ill at ease, and was beginning to make him twitchy. Different worlds, different methods. The Author could make anything happen as she saw fit. Perhaps she'd allow their magicks to triumph over the science of the killer's world, perhaps not. But it wasn't something he'd risk. He didn't want to risk either of their lives if he could help it.

So.
He'd do exactly what he was used to doing. Running.]
