001 :: Arthur :: [In Person]
[Paris. Arthur knew the city by sight but for him, it was hardly a place of comfort. Too many bad memories shifting to the surface, of Mal, of Cobb. Of course, given his job he didn't expect anyone to be familiar with him here, not when he made a living off hiding, remaining anonymous. Still, there was a slight feel to Paris right now that he was uncomfortable with - people walking by, seemingly ignoring him, faceless and forgettable.
Instinctively, he reaches for the dice he keeps in his pocket, because he knows he won't go anywhere without it. There was nothing to suggest otherwise, but this was reality. If it could be called that.]

What are you doing out in the rain, Nii-chan?
[In Person]
Excuse me?
[Arthur pauses, briefly remembering the question he was asked.]
Sorry, I suppose it's just a sudden realization that I'm here in Paris again. It's a surprise I'm not used to.
[In Person]
[He chuckles and rubs the back of his head]
Yeah it gets pretty crazy around here!
[In Person]
Around here? Have you been to Paris before?
[In Person]
Nope! It's my first time here! I'm having fun though!
[In Person] (oh my god my slowness is hideous, fuck you exams and i'm sorry |:)
[Arthur glances at the shopping bags he's carrying.]
Of course, I should have realized that some people enjoy the shops here. You didn't clear them out, did you?
[In Person] ((no problem))
No, of course not! We've got at least a week here, there's still tons of shopping for me to do!

Re: [In Person]
[He begins digging around in his bags for his blackberry. After some struggling]
Uhhh....
Can I see your blackberry?
[In Person]
Here.
You'd think we could have gotten better equipment though, these seem outdated.
[In Person]
[After some fiddling he finds what he's looking for it's Heather's welcome packet (http://hell-is-silent.livejournal.com/1457.html). He hands it back to Arthur]
Here you go!
Re: [In Person]
I appreciate it. Should be useful in the long run.

[But Kio shows no signs of leaving]
no subject
Once under the protective shielding, he removes his glasses and begins to wipe them off with a handkerchief he pulled from his inside liner pocket. The accountant didn't anticipate this trip at all and it showed in his slightly nervous nature.
He sees another man that he doesn't recognize but his mannerisms seemed unlike the rest of the passing crowd. Gene puts his glasses back on to have a better look.]
Hey! Can you tell me how to get to the nearest hotel? I'm sorry if I'm bothering you.
[in person]
I wouldn't say you're bothering me. In fact, you're probably one of the few that seem to be speaking up at least.
You're in the heart of Paris here. Try the L'empire Paris a few blocks over. It's one of the few places I've never had trouble with.
[in person]
Thanks. It's been several years since the last time I came here and well, it's uh...changed some. I mean, I guess it's not the same since the Author stuck us here but the people...they're so much more lively back home.
[Gene steps forward and offers his hand.]
I'm Gene Watson.
[in person]
My name is Arthur. I've been here recently, so I can say with some certainty it's nowhere near the same either.
You mentioned an Author though? Am I missing out on something?
[in person]
Well, it's kinda hard to explain. It's like...you've heard of the Great Book of Deeds at the Pearly Gates, right?

[In person]
... just fantastic. Nice try though, there's no one directing my purpose here.

[In person]
You have a point. I should have know better than to place the two in comparison. Thanks for the clarification. Anyway, objectively looking at it, our situation really isn't all that bleak. Sure it seems bad but we've survived in our respective world things that the Author hasn't thrown at us since it's been done.
Still, it's interesting to see how we come out of it.

[He pulls out a pack of cigarettes and offers one to Aurthur.]
[In person]
No thanks.
If this is mild, what else have you encountered?
[In person]
Let's see, for starters, we've been sent to Pripyat, that was fun in an experimental nightmare sort of way. Then there was the time that some random people showed up and claimed they were our long lost loved ones...or directly related to us which turned out a serious change in the law structure.
Oh, then there was the time that we were forced back to school along with the ever-so-weird week when any time we touched a person of the opposite sex we turned into a zoo creature. You still had your logic....just not the digits or the body to carry it out.
And just a few weeks ago, we just got through Hell Month. October, it seems, is the time of year for horrors. I'll never look at a haunted house the same again.
[In person]
Sounds like an eventful time. And you really had no control over these?
[In person]
[Even Gene thought it all sounded ludicrous which is why he looks embarrassed and slightly on edge.]
It's like....I dunno, some sort of weird Twilight Zone phenomena only it's real and not just what the mind fabricates. Ask around. You'll see I'm right.
