[Despite the weather, it hasn't stopped Ienzo from picking up a sea salt ice-cream from one of the stores. He was curious as to why it was in this of all places, but he didn't care. It was a taste of home. He's also been around picking up some new clothes, because even he got tired of his lab coat every once in a while. The t-shirt's far too big for him, coming just half way down his thigh, but only just a little visible underneath his also too big for him jumper and scarf. A bracelet of sorts just about visible underneath it. The shoes also looked new in comparison to his fairly well worn trainers.
He's sat in the hotel's lobby, tucked out of the way, surrounded by books, that really looked like they shouldn't have been read by someone his age, judging simply by the titles and font size. Someone had been at the local bookstore and bought quite a few for the collection he was building up. Honestly he was relatively content, it was a nice reprieve of not having something dire going on, nothing trying to kill/eat/maim him. Admittedly he'd also picked up something for Ophelia when he saw her, but considering how large the town was he was pretty sure that it was just the off chance they hadn't bumped into one another.]

[He shrugs. Honestly he didn't know what she liked, he could only guess by. But even so, the thought was there.]

It reminded me of you.

[Blunt child is blunt.]

A-ah. Thank you.

[He nods, 'you're welcome' essentially. Glancing to Ophelia he can't help but wonder why she mentioned staying with Eddie. As far as he new she wasn't on the best terms with him.]

Why are you staying with him?

I love him even though I can't trust him. I know he will try and hurt me again somehow.

[His brows drew.. He.. wasn't sure if he could make any logical sense from that. From what he could tell, she just needed to get out of the relationship if it were so bad. It couldn't have been doing any good.]

..Why would you allow yourself to suffer so?

Isn't love supposed to be suffering?

[He hadn't heard that aspect before. Not really.. Then again his world seemed just that little more naive. After all it was called the world of Light. Radiant Garden..]

Not in an idealistic sense.

[And hers was the world of Metal. And to be more precise for her the Drowning Doom.]

He was one of the few people to show me kindness before he jerked it away. He pretends to be trying to earn it back.

[Ienzo's eyes fell, he nodded a little mournfully. She wished to regain faith within him perhaps? A risky business indeed.]

What leads you to the theory that he is?

Well, if you put a piece of meat in front of a dog. It will go to that meat even if it is trying to behave, correct? As long as the meat is there, it will be more focused on what it can eat versus whatever its owner is trying to do to it- pet it, wash it, train it- anything.

In this situation, he is the dog, and there is a piece of meat- a woman- here too much like the first one he preferred over me even if he says he loves me. He wouldn't like it if I got rid of her, but he doesn't like it when I want his time with her to be minimum to try and preserve our relationship.

[Listening more and more he wasn't sure what to make of it.]

Do you possess any proof that he was romantically, or is, involved with this other woman? Unless there is solid evidence then these are just assumptions.

Considering right as he left me, he let said woman who wanted me out all along sit next in my spot as he drove away?

Hrm. Do you have anyone special that you two only do together? Like only you two can share a particular book?

[His brows draw, he wasn't really sure what to make of this. With an objective mindset as he'd been taught to have, he was missing the emotional distress this may cause, just seeing it as something being blown out of proportion.]

...Perhaps you need something more definitive..?

[He shakes his head. The closest he had was his foster father, Ansem, but he wasn't particularly close to people back home. Too reclusive and shy before everything.]

.. I've never had the chance-- I share my words with only you. I haven't to anyone else..

Well, you're the only person I really want to protect. [she crouched down so she could try to explain it.] How would you feel if in the middle of a fight, there was someone who was mean to you and I protected them instead of you?

[His brows drew. There was no two ways about it, he'd be distraught. But it wasn't that general, examples were all well and good but it depended on the variables and external forces.. He scrubbed his face and shook his head.]

...I don't know what I'd do... Seek comfort within another?

[Given time he'd try and find a reason, but that was just his objective nature. Emotions ruled Ophelia, she'd been cut deep, so that explained a lot of it.]

Would you be mad at me for doing that?

[He nods quickly, his expression a little saddened.]

Of course I would... but, I would try to find out why. Get solid evidence for theories, analyse all aspects and only then be comfortable enough to confront you about it.

[Oh, Ienzo, that clinical mindset of yours.~~Learn to be a child again gaawd~~.]

You're so logical.

[A slight hint of red creeps into his cheeks. To hide it he starts looking at his feet, rubbing the back of his head.]

Ah... it... was just the way I've been taught..

You're such a good learner.

[Feeling a little awkward, he glances back up at her.]

Trial and error...

[Taking a deep breath he forces himself to speak above a mumble, stating the most important thing Ansem had ever taught him, proudly.]

It is the only way we accomplish or learn anything.

You have a lovely voice.

[And with that his eyes widened slightly, letting his head drop again, his hair covering his face as his cheeks seemed to burn beet red.]
