[Hatori's hair is shorter, his usually slightly glassed over eye is in perfect health. There's a less morose air around him than there normally would be in the Manor. As it stands he's wandering around looking somewhat in a daze, the last he remembered was he had been on a walk with Kana. This... really didn't even look like it was even in Japan. The architecture was too westernised. His brows draw as he sighs. Well, he all he could do was find someone and ask what was going on. Unless he'd dozed off and this was some surreal dream... well he'd done something similar before.]

[I've take Hari from before he's lost Kana rather than his teenage years. Yeah. I'm feeling horrible.]

[His breath hitches in his throat and his heart sank. He knew about Kana..and what made it worse was knowing what was coming for two of them..]

[Despite himself, Black Jack can fele himself getting a little emotional; not as in crying or getting angry, but frustrated. Even if it was just another plot, it was hurting more than he cared to admit. Thinking quickly, he remembered something]

I know about the curse! I know what happens when you're around women

[His eyes widen. He knew about the curse?! Why hadn't he wiped his memory of it?! Akito would have ordered it straight off the bat, nor would he have hesitated.]

My deepest apologies, but I'm sure you are aware that the Head of my family would order me to remove that memory from you. We can't afford to allow our secret to be known to outsiders.

[Black Jack holds his hands up]

No way. This is only a temporary situation, so I'm going to have to decline.

Besides, Akito isn't here. And neither is Kana..so..even if you don't remember me, I suggest you get used to it, if only for a week.

[Hatori frowns. He shakes his head.]

I'm afraid I can't allow you to retain your memories, there can be no exceptions unless cleared by--

How do you know their names?

[This suddenly seems to take another dramatic turn for the strange.]

You told me..do you need more proof? I'm sure I can provide you with it

[He folds his arms across his chest as he takes a deep breath, soon listing Hatori's favourite brand of cigarettes and tobacco, his favourite clend of coffee, why he prefers getting up early, his favourite Author..]

..and I also know that, while you yourself prefer to save money, you don't mind people spending it on you - even though you'd deny it till the ends of the Earth.

[~~Triiiumphant~~]

[His expression softens a little]

..Now do you believe me..?

[His brows draw. If this was a trick it was a pretty elaborate one.]

I don't know what I should believe. I don't remember you at all. Why did I tell you? We simply became comfortable in each other's company?

[He sighs, somewhat frustrated not at Hatori but at the entire situation]

Yes, I guess you could say that..we were close friends

[Hatori frowns. Normally he wouldn't tell just anyone. He'd just have to place some trust in himself.]

..I suppose I shall have to take your word for it.

[He gives a slight smile, trying to soothe the tense atmosphere.]

Why don't you fill me in over some coffee?

[~~sgjvdsmmbjb YAY~~ He nods coolly, glad Hatori was giving him a chance]

Sure. If you'll follow me..

[He takes him upstairs to their room, his plan to make him see that they also shared a room..]

[Following, albeit a little hesitant. It wasn't due to a lack of trust for the man, but perhaps more worry at what he might find waiting for him.]

We shared a room?

[He turns back a little, about to open the door and let him in first when Hatori spoke. He glances at the dual nameplates, and nods]

Yes. Don't worry. I'll stay elsewhere this week.

[His tone is firm; since there was only one bed, he didn't want Hatori to feel uncomfortable at the thought of having to share with him]

[Hatori steps in, certain things did look familiar to him, others that weren't he assumed were Black Jack's - even if they were his in the future.]

...I'm assuming we shared the bed.

[His brows drawn. Something felt odd within him. Even if they were supposedly together.. the fact that he could be physically close to Black Jack and not Kana only seemed to embitter him.]

[He lets the door click shut as he switches on the coffee maker]

Yes.

[His brows draw, trying to mull it all over in his head. He didn't know this relationship he shared, but he didn't find it fair in the slightest. The fact this man could very innocently just brush past him and nothing would happen, but if it were Kana then he would simply become his zodiac... He stands there for a moment, tensing rapidly.]

Then you most definitely had better find somewhere else to sleep. I have no objection to you staying in the room, but I also ask that you don't join me. I am not your Hatori.

[It was cold. He knew that, but he had to be, especially if he knew about the curse and wasn't allowed to wipe his memory.]

[That stung. Hard. He takes a deep, deep breah, before turning back]

Yes, you are. You've just been messed around with.

[This was going to get ugly..]

[Turning to face the other he gives him a cold glare. Even when they hadn't been on the best of terms he'd never have done it.]

I only have your word to go upon. For all I know this is an elaborate joke. I don't know how you know of me or my family's curse and I nor do I want to.

[He puts the coffee pot down harder than he meant to, but the entire situation was frustrating..]

Look. You said you were going to give me a chance. I said I'd leave you alone but you pushed for answers. Now I'm trying to explain and you're looking at me as though I'm doing this for fun.

[His own expression darkens]

[Even though the other's anger only seemed to prove his point more, he couldn't help himself lashing out. It could only mean one thing if he'd become partners with Black Jack - things with Kana didn't work out...]

I would never leave Kana for anyone, so why did we happen?!

[Black Jack had to stop for a second and think of how to word this next part..or lie. Something he was very, very good at.

He didn't want to lie to him, but at this point, it was the lesser of two evils]

..I don't know. You never told me much about her. You only mentioned her once.

[His brows drew, trying to not lash out in some way. He wasn't the kind to lose his cool, just become irritated. Seeing Hatori in a full blown rage hadn't been seen in a very long time.]

...What did I say?

[Think think think..]

Only that things didn't work out. You never went into any detail

[There's a long pause from him. His gut wrenching. Of course things wouldn't work out with her... She wasn't one of the cursed. He'd never been allowed much in his life so to expect marriage? How naive could he have been?]

The curse?

[He knows he's hurting Hatori deeply. Before this, all he knew was Kana, and that made Black Jack feel..he didn't know how to feel..it was like it was his fault, even though that was impossible]

..I assume so..

[And then it finally hit, his stomach sinking and knotting all at once. He felt like he wanted to yell at something, be sick, or flip a table with something breakable on it. Anything to relieve the bitter sting of the reality he knew he'd have to have faced.

He didn't say anything, he just sat himself down on one of the sofa chairs, chewing the inside of his mouth to the point he was sure he'd made it bleed. He'd tensed and was just.. glaring at the table in front of him. He'd made sense of it, but to be told before it had even happened, he wasn't a fool..

Slowly his hand rose to cover his face, doubling over himself.]

[Although he knew he was the last person Hatori wanted to see, Black Jack couldn't help but step over to him, and put his hand on his shoulder. He just wanted to touch him again..this was going to be a horrifically long week, and he knew that it was likely he wouldn't get another chance to be this close to his love until the next Monday rolled around]

I'm sorry

[Hatori shakes his head. That heavy morose feeling was setting in and dulling his mind. Berating himself internally for being so naive. It was ridiculous, he knew someday that it would have had to end, that it was all too good to be true. Perhaps he was cynical like that or he just knew in his heart of hearts that the curse didn't work like that. Akito needed them there for her, everything was just too complicated to be able to put himself first. Not that he had ever really been able to do so.]

..It's not your fault. I was a fool - nothing more.
