Kudo Shinichi - Case 036 - [In Person with the Great Detective of the East]

[Shinichi shuts a door behind him and adjusts his shirt some- a tiny bit of steam can be seen coming off him but it quickly dissipates. The great detective is feeling pretty happy right now-after all he's not stuck in the usual punt-sized body.

He takes a few breaths and stuffs his hands in his pockets before starting off - now to find Ran]

[Ran's silent as they walk. She -- doesn't like the sound of that. She doesn't like Conan and Shinichi having been here by themselves so long even less.]

I'll stay as long as I can- but this place has me really busy since I've been helping to keep things civil here-a lot of people are against the justice system we're trying to keep en-stated but no one's offering ideas to fix it-so it's been a lot of work.

Here's Conan's door -- I'll see if he's here!

[Ran knocks very quickly before opening the door -- she doesn't want Shinichi to see how disappointed she is by the news and it's going to take her a moment to get her expression cheerful again -- after all, she doesn't see him that much back home either. This is no different.]

[But it is different! With how many antidotes the Author gave him he can wait a few days-take another one and spend more time with Ran!]

[He watches her and leans against the wall across from Conan's room while he waits on her... she's taking too long and there's no telling how much time he has using the authors antidotes.]

You know, It'll be spring by the time we get out there.

Do you want me to remind you of the time I spent waiting for you at a certain hotel, Mr time-conscious?

[Ran hastily scribbles her name at the bottom of the note she's written Conan and Haibara, rejoining Shinichi outside the room. She might be determined not to put up with any of Shinichi's nonsense, but that doesn't mean she wants to waste any time she has with him.]

[He doesn't want to waste any time he has with her either- which is why he's being so impatient]

A-ah... s-sorry, about that... [he scratches his cheek a bit nervously-feeling more guilty about that then he lets on]

[Ran pulls her coat more tightly around herself before grinning at Shinichi.]

All right -- let's go!

[Shinichi nods and waits for Ran before heading in the direction of the stairs and out towards the front door.]

Been awhile, huh? Since we've been able to hang out.

I doubt it-it's probably too cold for them. They're probably all sleeping in trees.

Mm, they gather food and stuff in the winter and hide it--well, sort of they don't sleep like bears do but they do prefer to stay in their trees and conserve energy--that's why you don't usually see them around in the winter.

Really? I never knew. [Why had Shinichi even learnt the habits of squirrels? Ran stopped herself -- she'd learnt long ago that it was useless being amazed at just how much her best friend knew.]

We might see birds though, right?

[Shinichi gives her a small smile as he reaches the front door]

[Ran turned immediately to retrieve her scarf and gloves.] Slow down, Shinichi. You've got gloves somewhere?

Eh? Nah, I'll just keep my hands in me pocket-A little cold is nothing.

It really is cold out -- if you catch a cold, you're not going to be able to help anyone, you know.

I won't catch a cold-I have a jacket on and I'll keep my hands in my pockets-problem solved. [there's also the fact he doesn't have gloves to fit him while he's Shinichi]

It's not as windy today and that's really what you have to worry about-the wind chill.
