[Wallace is casually lounging in the games room. Anyone within a 20 meter radius will be able to smell something inexplicably good and that would be him. This week he's giving off pheromones that make men attracted to him and women will just enjoy the aroma. Not much of a point to it, but more or less something that would simply stir up drama or potential amusement. Such was the working of the brain of the Author. But Wallace can't smell it. Why would he? If it's part of his natural smell, he'd be used to it and thus not notice it.]

Geez, that's a kinda lame ability. I just smell nice? What am I supposed to do? Gas out my opponents?

Oh, I don't think you'll be fighting anyone with it. There are plenty of useful powers not combat-oriented.

[She's still smiling. He'll figure it out, eventually...]

[He raises his brows, giving her a mock pouty expression.]

[She chuckles, a low, sexy sound.]

Planning? Nothing. Why would I be?

[Stroking a metaphorical goatee on his chin he continues to look at her, before breaking it and turning back to the TV.]

Meh, just a hunch. I've kinda got an idea of what you're like anyway, if you can believe that.

You don't say? Am I really that transparent?

[He shakes his head.]

Not that. In my world your missions with the X-men are sort of chronicled in comic books. If that makes sense?

[...it sort of doesn't.]

I'll take your word for it, dear.

[If that's true...God, what a mess they must be.]

Yeah, if you ever feel overly curious I think I have a few of them lying around to show you.

[Turning back to the TV he stretches slightly before adjusting back into the gamer lurch.]

But yeah, it's not because you're transparent it's just because I spent a lot of my childhood reading your comics.

Flattering. Then I suppose you know all about my checkered past and the fabulous times I've had with the X-Men.

[And some of the embarrassing moments too...]

Mostly, I did miss one or two issues.

[He shrugs, yes amused that whilst she could have him wrapped around her little finger if she so pleased he at least had a few things up his own sleeve.]

I'm not about to say anything, if that's what you're worried about.

Trust me, it's not. If you know as much about me as you claim, you know I could prevent you from ever doing such a thing.

I trust, though, that you'll stay mum about my previous exploits? Everyone else will find out about them when I deem it necessary.

[He nods]

Of course. It's just, yeah, I didn't really ever expect to meet you. But no worries, your exploits are safe with me.

To be fair, I never thought I'd be stuck in a place like this, cut off from the rest of the world. Life is full of surprises.

Hah, I don't think any of us did - and if they did they're paranoid and need to be committed.

That is true. And I suppose there are worse things than being stuck in a lavish mansion with...admirers.

[He reclines and chuckles, putting his feet up on a footstool.]

Mmm. I take it you enjoy what you do, then.

Honestly, it could have been a lot worse. It's way more lighthearted than it could have been.
