[Dende moved up so that he was sitting next to Tom on the bed and put his arm around his shoulders for support. Dende remembered having to wake up himself. He remembered having to wake up in that dark little shelf thing alone with only vague memories of his own murder. He wanted better for Tom, he deserved far better. Not to mention Dende felt immense guilt that it was a member of his own race who had done such a thing.
