Fourteenth Act // [Video] - No longer we'll sing through the day, of the lives we lost and reclaimed

[Kuja appears on the feed, tossing his hair over his shoulder and making a melodramatic sigh. Everything going on this week was ridiculous. Normally he enjoyed a bit of chaos for the sake of entertainment, but.. this was nothing short of a droll performance with over-rated actors and actresses who hadn't a clue what they were doing.]

Has it occurred to none of you fools that, perchance if you'd asked for my assistance, I could have saved all those who have died so far? You would have had your answers. You ask for anyone with information to come forward - How about you simpletons all swallow that damn pride and talk to one another? You're beginning to make me doubt your supposed intelligence. Or shall I continue insulting what little you all seem to possess between you?

Too many cooks spoil the broth and that's apparent here. Your petty pride complexes are making this entire 'case' counter productive and making things easier for the killer to strike again. Why else did Sheldon and Oz unnecessarily die? Because you weren't quick enough to work together after the first death.  Your incompetence is nothing short of unspeakable.

[The feed cuts out.]

....

Yes, I'm done. Honestly, I should get back to work instead of letting rabble-rousing bother me.

Bluff may not be the proper word, but that certainly is one of the options - catching red-handed. It runs the risk of our bait or whoever we're monitoring getting passed over in favor of someone else in another area who's wandered off alone and makes a feasible target, just as much as finding hiding places runs the risk of them moving somewhere else - and of course, whether we know the identity or not, until we can pin them down physically simply knowing who they are won't stop them. Baiting means the killer will be weighing their own ego at their ability to elude capture against their ego at sidestepping such a "simple trick". Not to say that any of these ideas won't work if properly handled and if enough area is covered, but "simple solutions" tend to end up fraught with complications in practice - one can never assume that the person they're up against is simply going to behave as expected and as one wishes.

... Not entirely - Oz doesn't fit the pattern, and Vincent, all anyone besides Oz knew of him, is that he arrived covered in blood that wasn't his - for all we know, he was fighting for his life somewhere, or had survived a massacre as an intended victim, and was harmless. They're definitely looking to make an impact on the populace - I suspect that hitting both people that are cautious and capable, and people that haven't distinguished themselves, may be an intentional thing to broaden the effect - if it were only people like Shiki, then those that are less brazen in the Manor could hunker down and believe they were safe because they weren't noticeably dangerous, but with a few people that aren't in the mix, it's a message that no-one is safe. The pattern so far is more bound to logistics and tactics.

[He's thinking - what he's seen of the killings and how much he can say...]

Based on what we've found at the crime scenes? I'm confident they're alone, but I'm not going to stop keeping an eye out for warning signs they have an accomplice until well after the dust has settled, just in case.
