Third Growth ❦ Open/Video
[This is Briar's first foray into the world of technology. Tris explained to him how the blackberry worked, and he's looked at a few of the posts, but he was still a bit wary of using the little device. Until now, where circumstances have created a pressing need that overrides his reluctance. Namely that he's in a different body.]
[The video clicks on, and it's Naomi's face that's half-glaring at the camera.]
The last thing I remembered, I was up a tree on that island. Now I'm here, and I look like... this.
[The frown grows more pronounced before he briefly angles the blackberry down to show his-- her-- Naomi's body, then back up to his face.]
This is one of the writer's stupid ideas of fun again, isn't it? Let's just change people into some random woman because we can!
[He's female. He doesn't have his powers. He's completely changed from how he was and to be honest, he's a little bit scared by it. And a scared Briar is a defensive Briar. He looks to one side, outright scowling and making himself calm down a little before he keeps speaking.]
Is anyone else like this?

no subject
[Audio]/[Locked] Oh god, I am so sorry about this
Aaaah, but first. He locks the message. No need for L or the real Misora to find out what he is up to!]
Not quite, not-Misora. I'm quite exempt from this. Are you familiar with this woman?
[Audio]/[Locked] I'm not :D
[Cold rageface. This is one. And it probably looks quite odd on Misora's face.]
When I get my hands on this author-- [Snarl.]
[Audio]/[Locked] XDD
And what a fair body it is. I had been hoping to retrieve a belonging of mine from her room. [An exaggerated sigh.] Something of vital importance. I suppose with your permission...?
[A pleasantry really, as B intends to break into Misora's room regardless of this person's permission.]
[Audio]/[Locked]
How vital's vital?
[He's not... feeling exactly together yet, and wishes this woman was carrying knives so he had a defence he knew. Despite her obvious physical fitness, he's yet to find a weapon at all. (Or rather, one he recognises as such)]
Describe it to me and maybe I'll let you in.
[Audio]/[Locked]
[Audio]/[Locked]
[Sorry, B.]
And wouldya look, I don't see anything resemblin' a life in here!
[Audio]/[Locked]
[Audio]/[Locked]
[Faint noises of movement can be heard as Briar decides he might actually have to get up and look.]
Is it this... flat silver box?
[He turns the video feed back on, angling the blackberry in the general direction of the laptop.]
[Audio]/[Locked] -> [In Person]
Correct. I'll be there to collect it from you shortly.
[And he disconnects the feed before Briar has a chance to argue. Within moments, he's knocking on the door.]
[In Person]
[The knock at the door comes, and Briar has the laptop on the beside table, in easy reach of the door without being too far into the room. The window's also open, giving him an escape route if he needs it. He doesn't want B in here for any longer than he can help it.]
[He doesn't open the door just yet, calling out instead.]
Who's there?
[In Person]
Who else not-Misora?
[In Person]
[As he speaks (the street accent he's trying to fall back on soudning odd in Misora's voice), he opens the door, stepping back and giving it a wide berth once it's open. He waves a hand towards the laptop on it's table, obviously not going towards it to pick it up for B.]
There it is.
Re: [In Person]
How very kind of you.
[His tone doesn't match the sentiment at all. He shuffles forward into the room, almost dragging his feet- his preference for crawling can be extrapolated, though for the time being he remains standing. He gives the laptop a glance, but something else has caught his eyes: Misora's purse. He picks it up rifling through its contents with a lazy casualness to him, as though he has every right to be going through her personal effects.]
...Did you know, not-Misora, that she does not carry breath mints in here?
[In Person]
[Briar's not yet made a move towards B, but he has shifted his stance to be a little more overtly threatening.]
Why don't you just take what you came for?
[Briar has to remind himself that he's not in his own body; he doesn't have his own powers, and will be at a significant disadvantage if it comes to a fight and this guy knows how to move properly.]
[In Person]
An excellent suggestion, save for the timing, not-Misora.
[He continues flipping through the purse, finding this time a photo of her and another man, whose name and lifespan, he finds, he cannot read- which... considering their world, only had one implication. Naomi Misora's male companion- presumably a boyfriend or fiance- is dead, and Misora herself- as B discreetly glances at the space over not-Misora's head- is not much longer for the world either. An interesting piece of information. He sets the purse back where it was originally located, and picks up the laptop.]
Remember to congratulate her on her upcoming nuptials for me.
[Laptop securely in hand, B inclines his head politely and exits the room.]
[Audio/Private]
And now some innocent resident is going to have to bear with that freak, and she doesn't even know who it is, though whoever it is, they obviously don't know Naomi. Hmph, "random woman" indeed. Misora would have been more than a bit insulted had she not been panicking at the same time. Not just over B, but at sudden awareness of the existence of some presence in the room even though, physically, she's clearly alone. And that something appears to be taking pleasure in her very panic.
Shit. No time to think this through. Misora jerks the blackberry to her ear and Soma's voice emerges.]
Who is this speaking? I believe you are in my body, and I, obviously am also trapped in someone else's. Please, I need to speak with-
[Naomi drops the blackberry, now certain that the specter is indeed real. Shit. Shit! Just what the hell is going on?
Soma, she's going to have to find Soma ... and quickly.]
[Audio/Private]
....You okay out there? You didn't get stuck in my body and go in the gardens, did you?
[Audio/Private]
No, most likely not. The body I'm in belongs to someone whom I've met before, and judging by your video post, we have not.
My name is Naomi Misora, and I have reasons to believe that someone dangerous might be looking for me. In this case, he would be looking for you. Have you heard from any suspicious persons yet?
