First Study •§• Leonardo •§• New blueprints [In person // Intro]
Agniolo! Puoi venire qui un momento? Ho bisogno che tu-
[Stepping out of his room and expecting to be met with his dark, chaotic studio, Leonardo is cut short when he see's a long corridor, stretching to either side. He pauses, half in the door and half out, before crossing the threshold completely, closing the door behind him. He hesitates, but only for a moment, before his curiousity gets the best of him, and he heads towards a nearby staircase.
As he descends it, Leonardo tried to think of possible reasons why he was here. The Borgia, perhaps? Had they heard of his inventions? If that were the case, they wouldn't have left him so unguarded. And that didn't explain how his entire workshop was here, in tact (or, as in tact as was possible).
Doing a little jump down the last step, Leo smiles to himself as he folds his arms behind his back, and takes a moment to look around his new surroundings]
Ho la sensazione che questa sta per diventare molto interessante...*I have a feeling this is going to become very interesting*...
(Feel free to bump into him~!)
no subject
Si, that is very true - but, it is no matter, honestly
[Taking her hand, he leans down gracefully and kisses it lightly, before straightening up again and giving her his best smile]
My name is Leonardo Da Vinci; it's truly a pleasure~
Now, you'll have to forgive me, but I don't know my way around this place..wherever this place is..so, you may have to take me to the kitchen
no subject
Oh... you're new, aren't you?
And here I am flapping around spilling wine on you and talking too much!
I really can't apologise enough.
It's a little hard to explain... erm... people get picked from their homes and brought here by some 'author'... that's really the extent of my knowledge. I'm sure someone else will be able to explain a lot better than me, but rest assured you're in no immediate danger.
Listen, let's get some wine and you can ask me questions if you'd like to and I'll see what I can tell you, though I don't promise I'll be very useful.
no subject
Your explanation was perfetto, Signora. This entire situation seems almost dreamlike. Although admittedly, the lack of danger is a bonus.
[Offering his arm, he smiles]
Lead the way, la mia donna *(My lady)
no subject
It is very, yes, but it's amazing how quickly you grow used to it.
I must say you're taking it all very well.
no subject
I suppose I am..should I act more panicked? Scared, even?
[He chuckles lightly]
No, I've been scared. This isn't scary - just, a turn of events, and one that I am happy to embrace.
no subject
[she opens a bottle of wine and pours him a glass]
I think that warrants a toast - to embracing fearlessness.
no subject
Un sapore di casa *(A taste of home) - Very good choice, Signora.
[Putting his glass down temporarily, he pulls a seat out for her, before sitting down himself]
So, please, tell me about yourself. No detail spared - apart from those that are none of my business
no subject
[she considers this for a moment]
Well, I'm from London, England, I was taken from the year 2008. I'm 32 years old, the daughter of an aristocrat, wife to the Prime Minister. I enjoy reading, long, hot baths, and, as we've already established, wine.
Your turn.
no subject
I was born in Tuscany, and last time I checked, the year was 1478. I'm 24 years old, live with two of my assistants, and enjoy art, music, engineering, sculpting, inventing...I'll try most things once~
no subject
Art and music are passions of mine, as well. I studied art at university, much to my father's horror, but I learnt very quickly I had no talent in the subject and pulled out to take British History instead, which he was a little more happy about.
no subject
Grazie, but, being an interesting person is simply a matter of opinion; I just have an insatiable thirst for knowledge...I want to know how everything works, how it all fits. Bodies..the universe, everything.
Aah, history - a wonderful subject. I've never been to England myself, what is it like~?
no subject
Burning.
But before that it was lovely.
no subject
[His expression grows saddened]
Mi dispiace, Signora
no subject
[changing the subject quickly]
Why don't you tell me about your home, what's that like?
*Firenze = Florence XD; just so ya know
Firenze? It's beautiful - Italia as a country is simply enchanting, but Tuscany and Firenze will always be close to my heart. You know, in the spring, the view of the hills looks like a living painting. Magico..~
My favourite time is when the sun is an hour or so from setting; at that point it cools down a degree or too, and the street lamps are lit, so, if you happen to be up high at that time, the city looks meravigliosa *(Marvellous)
[A pause, his smile warming]
And the people, for the most part, are among the best I've had the pleasure of meeting. I wiah I could show it to you, Signora - I think you would like it~
no subject
Oh wow, that sounds wonderful.
You have such a beautiful way with words - so poetic, so romantic...
You're home sounds so beautiful.
I wish you could show me too.
no subject
I have been told so, but then again, I've also been told I couldn't be more of a stereotype - for an artist at least. But I am a hopeless romantic, as it happens, so I suppose it could be far worse
[He pauses]
Now, la mia donna, I have a favour to ask of you - you are more than free to decline, but I would be honoured if you would accept
no subject
Alright, I'll help as best I can within reason.
What is this favour?
no subject
Would you consider modelling for a portrait? I normally wouldn't ask soon after meeting someone, but you are so beautiful, I cannot help myself
no subject
Oh... erm...
Really? You want me to model for you?
[she blushes]
I'm really not that beautiful, but thank you very much. Of course I'd be happy to model for you if that's what you really want. I don't know if I'll be any good though...
no subject
Davvero?! Really~? Grazie, la ringrazio molto! *(Thank you so much!)
[Still smiling broadly, he leans back in his chair]
I've yet to hire a model who has been anything but splendid - I only ask you be yourself~
[For a second, he looks genuinely confused, before laughing]
Surely you must be joking? You're stunning, Signora - forgive me if I seem overbearing, but if you stepped one foot into Firenze, you would not have space to move for the men who would want to know your name
no subject
Gosh... thank you. I don't really know what to say.
My husband said I'm getting a bit old and chubby... I can't remember the last time I've been so flattered.
[she takes a big gulp of wine as she tries to think of something to say, also trying to hide her blush]
...erm... yes, but I'd be happy to model for you. Whenever you're free don't hesitate to call on me, I'm never busy.
no subject
You don't need to say anything, I'm sorry..sometimes I get a little over the top..-
[At the mention of what her Husband said, his smile dips]
..Your husband said that..? Then, he must be visually impaired. And besides, age and weight do not dictate beauty. Many people who I've drawn have been outside of the normal ideals of what 'beauty' is.
But honestly? You mustn't let him speak to you like that Signora- ah, I apologise. It is none of my business.
no subject
No, I know, I shouldn't let him speak to me like that. If I'm being completely honest I should walk away from him, he's not a nice man.
But I won't go into all the gorey details, that's not what you want to hear.
Tell me more about your art, what's you speciality?
[she pours herself another glass of wine and tops up his]
no subject
I won't pry, but yes, that sounds like the best thing for you to do.
[Indulging her subject change]
Painting is my favourite medium, though I love working with charcoal. It adds a darker, almost..aloofness to the piece. A quiet beauty, like death.
