[Stepping out of his room and expecting to be met with his dark, chaotic studio, Leonardo is cut short when he see's a long corridor, stretching to either side. He pauses, half in the door and half out, before crossing the threshold completely, closing the door behind him. He hesitates, but only for a moment, before his curiousity gets the best of him, and he heads towards a nearby staircase.

As he descends it, Leonardo tried to think of possible reasons why he was here. The Borgia, perhaps? Had they heard of his inventions? If that were the case, they wouldn't have left him so unguarded. And that didn't explain how his entire workshop was here, in tact (or, as in tact as was possible).

Doing a little jump down the last step, Leo smiles to himself as he folds his arms behind his back, and takes a moment to look around his new surroundings]

Ho la sensazione che questa sta per diventare molto interessante...*I have a feeling this is going to become very interesting*...

[Spencer frowns a little as she determines where to start]

Well...I spend a lot of time studying, or at least I did before I came here. And I play tennis and hockey...or, well, again used to. Not sure how that's gonna work here.

[She glances around slightly, as though the answer's going to appear in front of her.]

So...please, forgive me if I'm being forward, but...where, exactly, were you career-wise before the Author brought you here?

[Leonardo has to stop his expression from dropping. He was currently 24, and before he had been sent to the Manor, he had just come off trial. Needless to say, not his best year, and although he was ever the optimist, the past few weeks had been the most frightening experience of his life]

..Well, I was still staying with my mentor, Verrochio - we finished 'Il Battesimo di Cristo' - the Baptism of Christ last year, but after that, nothing else so far

Huh. That's something of a surprise.

[She doesn't elaborate, but she would have expected the Author to have chosen a later point to bring him from. Then again, what did she know of the Author's whims?]

Still, I'm sure she has her reasons.

[He's more than relieved that the subject's been dropped, so his smile becomes more genuine again]

[Even Spencer can pick up on a good time for a subject change]

[She doesn't take the arm offered, though she shows no suspicion of him]
