[For anyone going into the kitchen, they’ll see someone bent over one of the counter tops. Upon closer inspection, it's Leonardo, muttering to himself in Italian. Straightening up a little, it becomes clear that he has completely taken his blackberry apart, all the pieces laid out side by side. He looks like a child on Christmas day, his sky-blue eyes sparkling with curiousity-fuelled ecstasy]

oh mio oh mio, ciò che e...

[Smiling broadly, he puts the piece down and sketches it in a large, worn out looking book. The drawing accompanies others he did previously, of the device at different angles, and anotations of possible workings]

What on Earth are you, amico mio? Hmm~? Certainly this is something worth documenting...now, to put you back together...

[Mere minutes pass before the last piece of the blackberry is clicked into place. Leo goes to compare it with his drawings, when he accidentally hits the power button. When it beeps at him and the screen lights up, his expression only lifts further]

*incredible! Fantastic! So not only do you make noise, you glow as well...

I will have to ask someone just what you do, I think...fascinating, utterly fascinating...

[Eyes on you, Hastings]

'Laptop'?

It's like a bigger version of the Blackberry. But it can do a few more things. I can go collect it from my room if you'd like to see it?

[Aaaand we're back to Christmas]

If it wouldn't be too much trouble, yes! I'd love to see it!

[There's a slight snort and Shaun nods. He slips from the room and returns not long after with a slim apple mac. He'd show him the iPad later.]

This is a laptop. They're normally a little thicker than this, but it depends on the make.

[Now leaning over Shaun, his hands glued to his shoulders, Leonardo waits anxiously for the laptop to load up - hell, the loading screen alone is enough to stun him into silence]

[It was a little unsettling having an excited Leo behind him. But at the same time it was amusing. With a cheerful bleep it came to the log in screen - the password typed in that little bit too fast.]

Hang on, it's not even logged in yet.

[The wallpaper (http://www.myfreewallpapers.net/abstract/wallpapers/code-matrix.jpg) loaded first followed by all the little task icons. Then another friendly little electronic chime.]

So when you press the letters here, they appear on there..

[Absently, Leo touches the screen, and runs his fingers delicately over the keyboard - not hard enough to type anything. His expression is beyond priceless]

May I try..?

[Shaun nods and takes a step back, gesturing that the laptop was all his to doss about on.]

But it'll take you ages to be as quick at typing as I am.

[Leonardo very nearly gives a squeal of joy, but contains it as he looks over the keyboard. Excitedly, he starts typing - very slowly of course, not used to keyboards and not understanding why the letters were jumbled up as they were. Even still, he manages to type his name, his home town, and several sentences in Italian, talking as he does so]

This is unbelievable..and what do you do with the writing once you're done?

[Shaun chuckles and leans forward.]

[Clicking the menu button on the document he brings down a tab with several options.]

You can save it, publish it online - or in our case here the network, make a print of it. Lots of things. You can send it to your blackberry if you want?

[You just looks completely amoured, his mouth hanging open a little]

...I think I need a drink...

[After another moments hesitation, he manages to drag himself away long enough to prepare a glass of wine. All this information - this wonderful, glorious, limitless information..!!]

[Shaun chuckles and closes the lid of his laptop. He pats Leonardo's shoulder and approaches a small cabinet coming back with a bottle of Italian Red.]

Sangiovese sound good to you?

[Oh Shaun, you're tempting his sexuality..]

Good? That sounds excellent! I did not know the Author had such fine taste!

[Laughing, he takes the bottle from Shaun and pours two glasses]

Now, when you drink, try to keep it in your mouth for a moment or two - the flavours really come out that way

[Shaun chuckles and takes the glass.]

This came with me when I arrived actually. Bought fresh from Monteriggioni.

You know best.

[Doing as instructed he raises a brow. Soft yet strong, and not as much fruit in it as others he'd tried. But definitely worth nearly 10 Euros they'd forked out for it.]

Wow.

[He smiles broadly when Shaun mentions it's actually from Monteriggioni..literally a taste of home. Or at least, tase of nearby.

He watches Shauns reaction to the wine, before having some himself]

Good, no~?

[He nods setting the glass down carefully on his desk.]

Mm, very. I was wondering about it, but I'll have to remember it for the future.

Shall we try and find something to accompany this?
