[Now that Jack has his body back, the first thing he did was grab a bottle of rum and head over to the attic to lounge on the roof to gaze at the stars. He missed the battle between Zarbon and Piccolo. He really wanted to see it but he was busy taking care of his personal needs to really care too much. He'll catch it some other time.

With his hands behind his head and his rum on his chest, he's taking full advantage of this time to recollect his thoughts.]

[Jack looks over his shoulder and grins.]

Ah, out for a little stargazing, eh? Don't mind me. You wouldn't even know I'm here. Ooh! Tribble.

I just wanted a calm thing to do I guess.

Gil... I didn't know you snuck onto my head.

[Jack's eyes looked back at Oz and away from the tribble. He figured out that Gil is the name of the pet and decides to leave it alone.]

Well, it appears that your little furry friend couldn't stand to be apart from you. Kind of like a puppy, wouldn't you say?

[His drunken slur is accentuated by his ataxic movements and finger flails.]

Nice night to be out of the Manor of strangeness, eh?

Also sounds like someone I know.

It's odd for it to be so quiet for a place like this. Nice, but odd.

Aye, makes one wonder now what the Author has in store. Strangely, I'm finding the quiet strangely alluring to do the tasks I've been meaning to do such as your fencing lessons. What say you to a start of those footwork lessons right now?

[Of course he's not meaning on the roof. That's for the advanced course later.]

Right, yeah that sounds like a good start.

Good! We'll start when you're ready.

Shall we start as soon as possible? After all we don't know when the Author will cook something up.

So where do lessons begin?

[Jack had to think about that for a moment. The gym would be ideal but it's too confining. Well, this is for the footwork so it may do just fine.]

The gym would be suitable. Studies will begin as soon as you're ready. For now, the peace is what we need to do well in this case.

Right, would tomorrow morning be too early?

It's a good a time as any.

[Jack grins and flails his hand.]

Wear some good comfortable shoes. You will be on your feet most of the day.

Apart from the boot's I'm already wearing I don't think I have any other shoes that would be suitable.

Good thing there's a mat on the floor then, eh? Then we both shall train with bare feet considering that the footwork alone is the very base of fighting. Without it, the fight wouldn't be long.

Oh, I guess that makes perfect sense.

Of course it does. Once you have the footwork down, you can use it even in a dance, if you can believe that.

If you're talking about ballroom dancing I can already do that.

Fencing is very similar. Think of it as a dance only sharp and more pointy. Do that and you'll do fine.

So...the way you move your feet is like a dance? I guess I could always think of it like that.

Aye! [He leans in close.] Amazing, isn't it.

It kind is, I always thought it was much harder than that.

The hard part is not getting cut. Relaxing is the key.

Your hair is fine then, I see.

[Jack is ripped from his thoughts and looks at the screen.]

Lucy! Care to join me on the roof? It's a clear night.

[He pulls himself up to a sitting position and remembers that the stars made Lucy sad for some reason and changes his mind.]

Forgo that idea. Are you in your room?

[she smiles at that]

Yes, I'm in my room. Thought I'd curl up with book, I'm a bit at a loss for what to do with myself.

Maybe I should break up the routine a little and pay you a visit, love.

[He would rather be on the water than looking up at the stars anyway so, grabbing his blackberry, he slides back into the manor through the window and begins his trek to Lucy's room.]

Mind if I join you in the curling?

[she grins]

I couldn't think of anyone who'd make a better curling up partner, darling.

[Now Jack was practically running.]

On my way now. I find it relaxing this week considering the chaos of last. Maybe her mercy is beginning to show.

I wouldn't put money on it. Im sure she'll be back to her old tricks soon enough.
But for the moment we should definitely enjoy the peace.

[He's not far from Lucy's room but he manages to keep his cool as he swaggers along.]

Saying that her next event is following the same cycle as before, we could be in for some very strange events over the horizon. Still, I like the peace.

We're used to strange events by now, I'm sure. I'm sure it won't be anything we can't handle.

Dinosaurs? Pfft, piece of cake!

[she grins]

Absolutely.

[Finding Lucy's door, he knocks and waits, turning off the device.]

[she opens the door in her nightshirt and greets him with a kiss on the cheek.]

Hello darling. I'm so glad you've come to keep me company. Peaceful is all very nice but, if I'm honest, I'm going out of my wits with boredome.

Hm, perhaps I can cure that boredom.]

[He slips his arms around Lucy and closes the door behind them.]

I'd like that.

[she leans in close to him as he slips his arm around her, comforted by the warmth of his body and his now familiar touch and smell.]

Perhaps you could tell me some more of your wonderful stories.

[He nods his head and grins.]

You want to know more about Captain Jack Sparrow. I have plenty of them. Have you ever heard of a place called Mermaid Island?

[With a smooth motion, he moves from the embrace to a chair and takes a seat, happy to regale her with a tale.]

I can't say I have, but it sounds like a wonderful story.

[she sits down with him, linking her arm into his]

[Keeping true to Jack's storytelling, he begins his tale.]

This tale begins with the Black Pearl sailing along to find the Fountain of Youth. The waters were pristine and clear as they usually are in the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean. My crew went without me during the first leg of the journey considering that my mutinous first mate had taken off with my ship another time from Tortuga.

As you know, Tortuga was a free port in Haiti which is pretty well know for pirates and the piratical ways. Being that I know my ship better than any other, I knew exactly where to find it. And I did. Upon reaching my destination, I discovered a tiny island just off shore of the Florida Keys where it was said that mermaids dwell.

Of course these mermaids were the kind that would drag a man to his death as they devour his soul, rendering his body helpless. Now I wasn't about to fall for such things. My heart belonged to my ship and there was no dragging that away.

[Lucy listens to the tale, eyes wide with wonder, hanging on his every word.]

That sounds oddly romantic.

Mermaids? Real mermaids? How exciting!

[Looking to Lucy, Jack grins as he continues to spin the nautical yarn.]

Yes, in normal circumstances they would be exciting though I would be weary of such creatures that show one face but have another. Considering beauty and their voice as the alluring quality, they are akin to the Venus flytrap...and rather sticky as well. I care not to become a fly.

Many a sailor has fallen victim to their whims though I have not. Ah, but the treasures they hold are vast. Not one has survived long enough to take it but we knew it was there.

Ah, but there was another ship present that wanted the same thing, you see. Not many had the means to seek out the treasure of eternal youth even if the legends were true. Only those with a ship and a keen mind for adventure knew what was really out there. Pirates. And one such dastardly one was Black Beard himself.

Ah, so not like in the fairytales then?

Oh Black Beard! Amazing!

[she sighs]

I'd give anything for all that... adventure. All of that 'wind in your hair', 'braving great perils', it's so... exciting!

Freedom and adventure.

Honestly, the man scares spirits from corpses.

[Not to mention the only other person he is afraid of other than his father.]

Time and tides tell stories all on their own. Freedom...the very essence of what makes a spirit endure costs more than blood in the veins of villains and victors. Still, it helps to know the world than to watch from the cliffs with uncertainty and complete adoration without knowing what a thing is that is being adored.

[Lucy gazes into his eyes with complete awe and adoration, leaning in closer]

You're a remarkable man Captain...

I'm more than just as I appear, love.

[Leaning in closer, he brushes the backs of his fingers to Lucy's cheek and closes the distance to place a gentle kiss on Lucy's lips.]
