Twelfth Position •~• Nina •~• Couru [In person]

[At first, being in space hadn't done much for Nina's nerves; after all, who knew what the Author had planned for them..? Who was piloting the ship? And where was it headed?

But, after a day or two of nothing much happening, she'd started to relax, and soon she was almost enjoying the rather spectacular views that the portals held. Another plus was when she woke up that morning, and found her weekly delivered pointe shoes sat waiting for use.

Taking them to the kitchen along with a plastic box, she puts on some coffee as she opens the box, revealing some scissors, a small hammer, a lighter, and some thread and needles. So began the ritual of taking the beautiful satin shoes out of their packaging, and beating the ever dancing crap out of them. Scoring the bottoms with the nail scissors, hitting them into shape, ripping out certain parts, re-sewing others

[Gene entered the kitchen to make a cup of coffee but the machines there didn't look anything like what he was used to. He spots Nina making her modifications to her shoes, he doesn't say anything to break her concentration. He moves toward the cabinet but discovered that there were no handles to open them. He sets his coffee mug down with a sigh and mutters...]

I hate this place. Nothing stays constant.

[He looks from trying to figure out how to open the cabinets toward Nina's direction and shakes his head.]

Huh? Oh...

[He's been wanting to avoid that subject since it happened. He's not sure what is true and what isn't anymore but it was better to leave it be for now.]

yeah, about that. Don't worry about it. I wasn't prepared.

[That was partially true. The other part being that he chose a really bad time to quit smoking.]

[He let out a quick breath and a flash smile from his ineptitude over the cabinets.]

I think the Author enjoys watching people fail. I'm not sure if that's supposed to help us along or not but I'm not about to chock this up as just a fluke either. She's good at throwing out roadblocks.

[And cockblocks but that's beside the point.]
