10th bomb||Hayato Gokudera|| [video/inperson]
[After hearing from Megamind about his room the teen GUNS IT to see for himself. Low and behold his room is a blackened husk of it's former self. He runs in, looking around at it desperately. There was hardly anything recognizable left of the bed... his dresser was reduced to nothing but charcoal.
He stands there for a moment, face pale and his jaw hung open. He snaps out of his trance and rushes to the only thing still standing in his room. A bookshelf. He feverishly begins rummaging through it starting at the bottom, obviously looking for something. As he does so his black berry tumbles out of his pocket and switches on to video.
Hayato continues undeterred gradually working his way up to the higher shelves. Once he can no longer reach, he steps on one of the lower shelves to hoist himself up. Just as he seems to have something in his grasp, the shelves give out, causing him to tumble onto the floor, landing on his back. He sits up, holding what appears to be the charred remains of a little wooden toy are in his soot-blackened hands. He swallows hard, and it seems that his eyes begin to water... just a little.

...Ah...
[As objectionable as Light finds Gokudera, it isn't so toxic that Light would actively wish harm upon him; it's more that he wouldn't necessarily complain if harm befell the boy. He doesn't find this funny, nor does he get any real schadenfreude out of this, but he's far from offering Gokudera a place to stay.]
I'm... [He pauses. He isn't sorry, and knowing Gokudera, he wouldn't want to be seen as the victim.] ...speechless. Are you alright?
Re: In Person
I'm fine. What's it to you? Last I checked you hated my guts. If you're here to prove something or get more info, then piss off. I'm not in the mood.
[His tone is callous but lacking in it's usual fiery venom, coming out more flat and tired then usual]
In Person
Do you have any idea what started the blaze?
[What he isn't saying, as Light is quite capable of self-editing, is the fact that he wouldn't be surprised if Gokudera set fire to his room accidentally. It's what happens when kids play with fire, after all.]
Re: In Person
[Hayato reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a cigarette, then quickly lights it, though all with one hand. He's not moving or putting the little carbonized car down... he just... needs to hold it for the time being. He had essentially lost everything but the clothes on his back. While he's been there many times before... this was the one thing he had painstakingly kept with him.]
I'm sure you're not fucking surprised at all.
[Hayato states the last comment almost boredly as he turns away and walks to the blown-out window. Well... at least the wall was still there.]
In Person
Truthfully?
[Light picks his way into Dera's room, not really waiting for an invitation. He's curious if there's any evidence left in there at all.]
No. I'm not. [He exhales deeply at the damage. It's even worse on the inside.] Any ideas as to who did it?
Re: In Person
[Hayato sighs and leans back against the wall. He doesn't even seem to feel like inhaling the cigarette, instead content to just let the smoke drift idly to the ceiling]
A bucket full. Wouldn't even be surprised if you did it, really.
In Person
[Light raises an eyebrow at the accusation. What's strange is how quickly it rolls off his back being used to accusations of other, more serious crimes, say murder en masse, but even stranger, is denying it and meaning it. A foreign concept. He laughs almost bitterly, and not so subtly brings a hand up to cover his mouth.]
Don't be ridiculous. [Arson isn't Light's style anyway, but he keeps that tidbit to himself.]
So what's the list?
Re: In Person
[He lets out a sigh, disturbing the smoke from the cigarette as it drifts ever upward. He honestly hadn't meant it to be accusatory. Just a simple statement]
What's the 'list' any business of yours, don't you know enough about me? Now you want to know my social standings too? Are you lookin' for allies or somethin'?
[Now that was more accusatory... but his tone remains flat. He didn't have the energy to put up his usual fight about this sort thing.]
In Person
Again, don't be ridiculous. I'm more interested in catching whoever is responsible. [Slightly softer.] If you don't believe it's for your sake [which it isn't] consider it to be for Sayu's.
Re: In Person
S-Sayu? I-I thought she's gone home... S-she's okay right? I haven't seen her since before the whole spaceship thing.
[Was she still here? Had she just been avoiding him? He wouldn't be surprised, it wouldn't be the first time that's happened... and considering some of the things that had gone on between them...]
In Person
Sometimes the Author sends people home temporarily, but as long as the name plaque stays on their doors, they will come back. I've seen it happen several times before. It doesn't look like they have any recollection of the Manor either, when they go home. [Light still doesn't know if this is a blessing or not.]
In other words, she's more than likely safer than we are. [Especially considering just exactly who was in power back home. A pang. Light had been so damn close, that it actually hurt thinking about it, though he'd bury it under a layer of anger and external maliciousness....which is something the unexpected reddened hue of Gokudera's cheeks provides. Light knew that the two of them were talking, but a blush? Now this was new. Gokudera ...Sayu? Really? And here Light thought maybe Sayu had some taste.]
So, let's hear that list. She'll be frightened out of her mind if she returns to this place with an arsonist on the loose.
Re: In Person
There's you, Belphegor... but this wasn't his doing... naw, if I end up cut up into ribbons in the hall with several knives stuck in my chest then THAT would be Bel. Some "Beyond Birthday" jackass, but I took care of him. Um... some asshole guy with girly black hair...not as girly as yours though
[Hayato takes out his blackberry and searches for the recent conversation between the two of them]
"17".... that's a retarded name.. some chick names "Nice", there was some other kid I roughed up...
[The teen has to recount on his fingers and mutter names trying to separate everyone who doesn't like him from those who might want to kill him...]
Do you want everyone that hates me? Or people that could potentially try to kill me? Either way the list is still pretty long...
In Person
You "Took care of B?" Elaborate.
[As for Android 17, Light has heard the name before from the public feeds on the network, and knows enough about him, to know that Light has no interest in being acquainted with him. As for Nice? Sure, she liked bombs and explosions, but this didn't seem to fit with what Light knew of her. She was the sort to face confrontation directly with the source- or at least that's what he surmised from her stupid squabble with Misa.]
As for 17, what exactly did you do to him?
Re: In Person
[Hayato shrugs casually]
I didn't do anything to him! Just called him a retard and a bunch of other shit... but he was the one who told me about my room... and he REALLY seems to have it in for me...
Re: In Person
You did what?
[Surely not. The kid couldn't be that much of an idiot. Payback for Misa? ...Damn it, and Light had ordered her not to do anything reckless! Why would she-... He takes a deep breath. Did Misa request this? Or did Gokudera act of his own volition? The latter wouldn't be surprising, but neither would the former. This was the girl who had threatened to kill all of Light's "girlfriends" in the past.]
...You're not serious.
Re: In Person
[He looks off to the side. The guilt had been a heavy weight on his shoulders, one that had just seemed to flutter away when he got the satisfaction of watching that bastard running off into the woods.]
Or at least go after me instead of her. I can defend myself.
In Person
[There's a very long, drawn out silence in which Light mentally cycles through a list of variations of the word idiot. Moron. Imbecile. Stupid. Fatuous. Retarded. All of thesm are applicable to Gokudera.
Light is not an expert on any of B's motivations, other than the more obvious ones- namely his pathological obsession with L and the Shinigami eyes, and true, Gokudera hadn't been around when the previous B had apparently snapped and decided to go on serial killing rampage, but it didn't take a genius to figure out one didn't push a psychotic freak's buttons and expect to be free of any repercussions.]
....
....
So you've angered the one person who is a confirmed serial killer in the Manor.
Re: In Person
So? Ain't my first time dealin' with one.
[He shrugs. Maybe it was dumb luck but he made it out of all his encounters alive... albeit sometimes barely]
In Person
You realize that... [What you've said is the equivalent of I've already gotten burned once, so I'm going to continue playing with fire?!] ...Never mind.
[He has absolutely no inclination whatsoever of starting this argument with Gokudera today precisely because it would only fall on deaf ears; Light does not fight losing battles. Besides, it isn't his problem that Gokudera apparently has no survival instinct. What did it matter to him if Gokudera lives or dies anyway? For that matter what it matter if Gokudera did die? He'd only come straight back to life, thanks to the stupid girl running this place.]
Let's hope it's not your last then. [Light shrugs indifferently.] What will you do about clothes?
Re: In Person
[The teen casts a worried glance around his room... nothing even remotely flammable had made it... there were some warped chunks of metal here and there... but not anything along the lines of clothes. He bites his lip, well it wouldn't be the first time he had been stuck in a similar predicament...]
I... I could wash them in the tub after I take a shower or somethin...
