[Malone's been getting very familiar with the air ducts over the last week, mainly cleaning them so that he's not choking on dust while moving from point A to point B. Last week wasn't very fun at all, and he'd spent half his time moping in the coat closet and he other half in the air ducts. But now that Megamind had some power on and there was a killer on the loose, well...actually, that didn't change much except that when Malone trots through the main hall and throws open the door to the coat closet, he can see a small body tucked neatly up on the shelf.]

Ewwww, how long has that been there?

[The video feed cuts on to show a disgruntled-looking Fool with the closet in the background, body clearly visible and identifiable as Conan's if anyone knows him well enough.]

Has anyone been looking for this guy, by chance? [deadpan] I found him. If anyone would like to come and do...I don't know, whatever...with his body until Monday, be my guest. I'm not going to share my bed with anyone who's a child, dead or not.

[He pauses, horror dawning on his face]

Ack, did he bleed on my sheets?

[The feed cuts out.]

[Oh that's quite disgusting, but frankly the speaker in this video isn't much better. There's no sympathy over the boy- just childish wonderment. The numbers say he won't die, so he'll obviously come back to life. So this is an opportunity to watch that process unravel before his eyes. Quite exciting!]

That boy, [He pauses. The name "Shinichi Kudo" of course is still there, fascinatingly enough, but that wasn't the name the boy employed. He remembered that much from his encounter with the boy and Misa Amane. Oh what was it again? Conan... Edogawa? Yes, that was it.]

Conan Edogawa is a friend of mine. I will take his body. [Nope, not really asking for permission to move it. Just kind of assuming Malone will agree.]

[Malone sounds very...petulant.]

Then you'll have to come and get him yourself; I'm a Human Key, not a delivery boy. And I'll need to see your face or get your name so that I can identify you. I'm not about to have a shin-kicker screaming at me next week for letting anything weird happen to him.

[Sorry Malone, but B has already hung up after the line- "Come get him yourself." He didn't hear a thing after that. A minute later, and he's knock-knocking at the Closet in question.]

[in a very sulky tone] What's the password?

[Password? Now this was never agreed upon. So who warned Malone? Megamind? The new arrival with the mismatched eyes? Obviously neither. Someone else. Either someone close to Conan Edogawa, or someone who had the skill to hack into B's encrypted message. Hm. If it's the former, the boy talked to quite a lot of people. He was the one who led that laughably pitiful investigation on Gokudera's room. Teru Mikami would be a good guess. No. No, he wouldn't. L would be a better one.

But would L intervene on behalf of a dead boy? Ha! That's funny. L didn't even care when A died. Not that B had either, but that's a story separate from the one at hand. Pesky, pesky secretive people. Didn't they know that if B isn't able to watch this now, he'd simply make an opportunity happen later~?

He slinks off quietly for now. Whoever you are, Shinichi Kudo's friend, you've won this battle, but not the war.]
