No, it's like when you try to pretend to be someone else and your real personality leaks through.

As well as having a pretty blunt 'I'm the Author and I know exactly what I'm doing' sort of thing- You know, responded like a typical teenager.

Then it hasn't exactly broken previous pattern, just added a new trick - she's managed to alter people's behavior patterns before by temporarily altering what point in their personal timeline they're here from, or what version of their timeline. A direct possession is unsettling and a very disturbing turn of events, but still not an actual alteration of someone's thoughts and choices - she's trying to be Dean and doing a poor job of it, not changing Dean's thoughts and choices. [And Dean is going to be VERY unhappy when he's back, most likely...]

...Did she seem to show any signs of thinking of you as a "real person"?

Not really- and I can't blame her for that much- to her, we probably aren't 'real' people- but define 'real'

Words are very powerful things, Saguru, and anyone that can wield them usually isn't quite aware just how powerful or their up to no good. Our dear friend The Author- or Wendy as I'm now calling her now is just very spoiled.

Mm, most of my writing has been crime scene reports - not quite so much opening for that, but I do understand the concept... I'm used to facing down guns and worse with words as my first weapon of choice.

I imagine that her interactions with us - she's likely a fairly typical teenager; in her daily life, she probably isn't "spoiled" so much as immature - this is her outlet. In all likelihood, for one reason or another she feels that she doesn't have power or control over her own life, so she turns to creative pursuits where she does get some sense of control; a fantasy world where she can indulge what she wants without having to deal with the restrictions she'd face in daily life. Since we're not "real" to her but fictional, there's no perceived repercussions to her actions; the fact that she does seem more interested in dramatics and romance than angst or torture implies that she may not be unpleasant so much as slightly shallow to those around her - even with "fictional, not real" people, she can't quite bring herself to truly take things out on them, and still sees herself as trying to do something "positive" with her dramatics.

Unfortunately, as you've observed, she has a great deal of power... and if she doesn't think we're real, then she's in that first category by default, which is still dangerous.

Oh yeah, you're a detective- your imagination is slightly... skewed then. Anyway!

You'd better watch out then- out of everyone in the Manor- I think you and your group are the one's mostly likely to be getting relationship advice from Wendy- you're having the most trouble.

That aside- as I was talking about- the power she's got it's like- oh- have you ever seen the never ending story?

I think she's already been meddling - although I'm still not sure if the outcome of that whole mess with people ending up in the wrong bodies helped or harmed affairs. You can't tell me Shiki ending up in my body wasn't some sort of intentional calculation on her part.

Well it's nothing like that- but if it helps at all- probably not since you've got that detective's curse thing- you can think of it like that.

Of course she's been meddling- but nothing so far has worked- if one plan fails, what do you usually do?

She creates this world via her writing, and as much as she seems mostly to struggle with inhabitants - I think the rabbit is her only stable success that's hers - she's demonstrated the power to "borrow" those from other worlds just by writing them in. Her will manifests through the words, as much as there seems to be certain rules to how this all works within that framework.

...I think she is still meddling, and I suspect I know which direction she's trying to push things - and I still don't know if it's something that's ultimately for the better or for the worse, but it's a touch on the personal side for more than just myself.

Yeah- wait. What? No. Well, sort of- it's much more complex than that- and much more dangerous actually- the more people she brings over here the more she's fracturing the walls of reality.

Word of advice, if anyone tries to force anything on you it won't be that enjoyable.

Mmmm - well, I'll admit; metaphysics and quantum physics aren't really my area of expertise, so I'll defer out on this one and stay with reading the Author's behavior from what we can tell.

[That's a bit of a statement of the obvious.] So far her attempts seem less towards force and more towards attempting to play matchmaker, although I'm not sure she's sure which direction she's trying to set me up anymore. To be honest, from what she's done in the past, I imagine the worst she'd try to set up and push would be a stereotypical "redemptive" relationship; the things that she seems interested in are more immature-romantic than outright skeevish.

I'm well familiar with what unhealthy relationships and such look like; it's a part of my job, and I do go armed, lethally and non.

It's really not that hard to learn- I've a book in the TARDIS all about-oh. No, you can't read that- I forgot that's spoilers. Forget I said anything.

-Oh! But there is one that's only mild spoilers- explains a good bit and won't give you too much of a look at the world to come- it's in the TARDIS library if you'd like to read it- Hell, any book you'd like to read is probably somewhere in there.

I may very well have to take you up on that at some point; God knows it'd be nice to have more to read than what's in the library and what I can pull out of the occasional field trip, particularly if it's something useful.

I have all sorts of books- history- proper history- not the rubbish they teach you in school- all my history is marked off by year- so stay away from anything marked after your time period- 2010 I believe. You might get curious but you also might have to fight TARDIS- can't be having you look at spoilers.

A large collection of musical theatre- collected that during my last regeneration. A huge selection on science- again, marked by year- a very large crime section- but not all of them are human crimes- most aren't, as a matter of fact.

Oh, very important- if you get lost in the TARDIS library- just thing about the console room- a few twists and turns and you should be free. The Ship is Physic so just- let it read your mind and it'll take you where you need to go.
