[Backdated to Early Wednesday]

[Kaito is... not doing so hot, but it's not immediately obvious. Right now he's outside in the garden with two rambunctious three-year-olds. It can probably be attributed to that and Poker Face that he seems pretty normal despite what happened recently.

He's mostly watching them right now though, with Haku the tribble on his head purring loudly, which does make him feel a bit better.

Little Aya had been picking flowers, but now wandered up to him.]

Daddy look! [She holds up a bunch of wild flowers.] Aya picked these for mommy! Aren't they pretty?

[He pauses, before managing a smile.] Those are beautiful, Aya-chan. She'll love those...

Will mommy be back soon?

[He... almost faltered.] Y-yeah. She'll be back before you know it...

[Even if company is really the last thing Kaito wants right now he's getting some anyway. The Doctor has seen a lot of things and a lot of deaths- so he has since learned how to console people when death happens.]

[Honestly, he hadn't been looking for Kaito- he was just taking Huntley out for some fresh air and happened to come across the teen he recognized as Kaito- he'd spoken to him briefly and also he'd let him and his other friends on the TARDIS once when the Manor was inaccessible- one of those friends being recently- killed seemed like such a tame word for what had happened.]

How are you holding up?

[Meanwhile, the small Gallifreyan two year old is going to join the other toddlers]

Yeah- I imagine it could be a lot better. [he's glancing out to make sure the kids are playing nice]

But, the good news is she'll be back- so it's not really like dying more of-oh-it's not like that at all. [forget he even started to say anything]

I know it's not easy- it never it is.

[An unreadable expression after something like that is a clear indication that someone isn't doing too well.]

I know everything feels a bit surreal at the moment and possibly like the whole world has gone off- there's something missing now and yet hardly anyone seems to notice.

I know how death is- what it can do to people and all the sorts emotions a person goes through- especially if it's someone they knew. Right now, I'd imagine it's probably not the death it's self but the idea that maybe if you'd done something different things wouldn't have turned out this way- that you couldn't protect her. But you have to remember, it wasn't your fault.
