Bout 1 || [Accidental Video/In Person]

[Katherine isn't in any of the rooms in either of her houses, that's instantly evident. The walls don't look thick enough by half, and there aren't nearly enough blankets on the bed. This place must be miserable in winter, although Katherine supposes that since she doesn't know how she arrived she could well be on one of the islands, like the one her uncle and Master St Vier went to, where it doesn't ever snow. ]

Duke? Master St. Vier?

[Of course if that were the case then she would expect things to look more...primitive, and while they certainly look weird now, Katherine doesn't think primitive is the right word. Katherine draws her knife, leaving the sword in its scabbard for now. The knife can be thrown if she comes up against someone armed, and there's always a certain risk associated with drawing the sword. Katherine still has no desire to kill anyone, and bringing a sword against someone untrained in the art of fighting seems like an easy way to mess up and let that happen.]

Marcus? Artemisia?

[Is this why her uncle the Duke went mad, because there's a room like this in the house that he got trapped in?]

If there's anyone who can hear me, it would end best for you if you were to come out now. I demand to know where you've brought me.

It can be. This will probably sound a little insane, but - reality isn't very stable here, and from what we can gather, the "Author" in control of it is a teenage girl who doesn't realize that it's real; so whatever idea for what would be 'an interesting story' that pops into her head, gets made real and inflicted on us. Sometimes it's just annoying, or a little hard on your dignity, and sometimes ... it's hordes of the undead or your fears being made real. [He's still worn and frayed after last week, after all, and as well-dressed as he is, he might not've shaken the smell of fish and water plants yet.] This month's likely to stay hazardous; I know the calendar she's working under, and there's a holiday coming up that's usually surrounded with ghost stories and the more frightening legends.

[His face turns more serious, with - well, the way this week is going? Sure, his ghost is harmless, but... and after last week...it's definitely the sort of frown that goes along with personal experience, of the bad sort.]

However silly some of these "stories" would be where we're all from, they're less silly when they're being made real. I just spent half a week in a koi pond trying not to get ripped to pieces by something that'd been a 'silly childhood story' to me.

[Ah, back to how silly this sounds - and he hadn't even gotten to the squirrels yet.] It's alright; as I said - there's some things I really can't expect anyone to take at face value; I'm a detective back home, and I know how mad a lot of this sounds.

Is there any magic in your world, or are any unusual powers known...?
