[The feed comes to life to show a young boy with glasses made dusty by the building he's woken up in. He doesn't particularly seem to care about the dust, though, instead glancing around as though someone might pop out from the shadows any moment.]

Hello?... Um, I'm not sure where I am, but it's really dark and scary and I don't know where my friends went... [He takes his glasses off, wipes them with his shirt and hurriedly returns them to his face.] And nobody else is around! Are we playing a game? It's not a very fun one... I don't like it.

[Tenatively:] Ran-neechan? Kogoro-ojiisan?

[And now he'll leave the Blackberry on video as he waits for someone to fill him in.]

[It's ... Conan. And apparently Conan with no memory of the Manor, which could mean he's back, could mean he's from an earlier point in time, or could mean another case of the weird thing where he wasn't sure if it was an alternate version or what. Whichever it was, it was Conan who wouldn't have a clue what was going on and where he'd stand a good risk of setting off about fifty different paranoia alarms! Whatever does end up coming up - since this is hardly a good time for an extended attempt at catching him up to speed on EVERYTHING - Hakuba's ... pretty sure he doesn't want it on a visible feed.]

[And if he looks a little less impeccably kept than normal, with a few soot and blood smudges here... well ... shouldn't be hard to guess why. Or guess why he's carrying a crowbar like a weapon. Or why the usual deadpan's a bit more worn and less smug than usual.]

I see your luck continues to be horrific, Edogawa-kun.

[Conan: setting off Hakuba's paranoia alarms since the second he arrived here.]

Ah-- Saguru-nii? [At least it's someone he recognises, if he doesn't know very well.] What do you mean? You don't look so good...

[At this point, it'd take Gin or Vermouth returning to get Hakuba's paranoia alarms going off ... he's pretty sure he could set off half of yours, though.]

It's been a very rough month, and you managed to miss the three and a half peaceful days we had this month by nineteen hours, ten minutes, and two seconds. [He's going to be. SO GLAD. When October is over.]

[And - in one of the windows behind him - was that just some kind of tall, ominous figure in what looked like a black coat?]

Has Hattori managed to get ahold of you yet?

[.................................what was that, Kudo? I believe you were saying something clever. :| Albeit a little interrupted by some white noise; his feed is actually a bit fritzy for a minute.]

So far, y- [Between the white noise and his Blackberry acting up and your expression, he's got a good guess what it was, and there's a minute where the feed is both not that great and has a great view of the inside of his pocket as he's grabbing someone and dragging to cover inside - and doesn't pull it back out until the static dies down, looking ... even more generally frustrated and grumpy with the whole situation.]

As I was saying, so far yes, albeit stalked by - some kind of monstrous psychopomps. You might want to keep an eye out for those ones around you - they're rather vicious, are the only monsters here I've seen yet to use firearms, and have a nasty set of claws if they get close.

((OOC: Hakuba's being sarcastic and pessimistic - his stalkers are a reflection of tweaks relating to getting tangled up in the Org business since he's gotten here, so of course, his belief in Murphy's Law is that if these things after him, they'd ... probably also be after Kudo. if you want to borrow them/something similar, feel free, if not, Conan can have a more peaceful time, for some given value of peaceful XD; ))

[I see you've taken up Heiji-niichan's questionable habit of calling me Kudo :| I'm not Shinichi-niichan, really.]

I haven't seen any so far. But I'll keep a look out. [Monsters do not exist. Those must be people dressing up and poking you with knives or something just as pointy.]

[Next week, when he's done checking up on all of his adopted CEEBs(Created Being) and making sure they're alright, he's going to have to have SUCH a fun conversation with you. Or just wait until the Manor manages to crack you a little and try to get a few things in edgewise.]

[ ...Oh right. You were even more fussy than him about being skeptical of things. ... Oh you poor doomed fool. Even trying to explain what's going on right now is going to run into that nice little denial bubble, so!]

If you can raise Hattori, it might be a good idea to stay with him; he's been here long enough to have a clue what's going on - and this place is ... just a touch dangerous. [Not like him going armed is a clue or anything.]

[He is so not looking forward to that conversation, or having his beliefs tweaked by the Manor.]

[Conan's denial bubble is going to be hard to pop, even when monsters walking around.]

I just talked to Heiji-niichan- he said that they'd be coming to get me. [Whoever the other person(s) was/were.]

[He gives a few reality shifts and figures it'll be entertaining as all Hell to watch you try to make sense of some of the weirder things around the Manor. There's actually that little sadistic part of him that thinks it'd be HILARIOUS to watch you figure out Mukuro.]

Well, that should help things... there is one thing about this place - whatever's going on? Keep calm. [And that? Was said in all seriousness - in fact, more like he was addressing someone the same age or an adult than a child.]

[Conan will poke his nose into everyone's business to try and figure them out.]

[...] I'm very calm, Saguru-niichan! [Have a bright smile, just for you, Hakuba. It's odd how Hakuba said that- but for now, Conan will write it off as the other being tired.

Because Hakuba couldn't possibly know.]

[Oh dear. He might have to rescue Conan from Mukuro.]

Easy to say that, but I'm sure you understand how much one can make things worse by letting that slip - and I have a feeling that it may be a very dangerous thing to let things get the better of you here. [Because he'd had a chance to catch on that the more agitated he was, the worse things got...in a MUCH more direct correlation than usual.]

I don't understand what you're saying, Saguru-niichan.

[Of course, Conan does, but he still has to try and keep up the facade, especially around Hakuba, who's just as sharp as Heiji... and the latter had found out his secret pretty quickly.]

[As much as it's less "the usual smug" and more that he's sort of ... teetering into a special sanity place? There is one of those predatory smiiiiles creeping across his face. The ones that make you wonder if maybe he's the killer after all.]

Oh, I'm sure it'll all make sense soon enough. Still, might want to mind your own reactions; I've heard blackbirds can smell fear, and the ones here seem most unpleasant.

[Plot twist. Hakuba did it.]

[Conan's expression freezes for a split second. Was Hakuba referencing to them? No. No way. He had only met Hakuba that one time, and it couldn't possibly have been enough time for the other to figure out anything...(Unless he'd underestimated the detective's intelligence.) Combined with the hint that there were possibly members of the Organisation wandering about in this place...

Conan smiles again, but it's a lot more strained than before.]

[Actually there's a mix of that parenthetical note with Options C (He dealt with a previous Conan), D (He also dealt with both Gin and a previous Vermouth), and E (Various conspiracy theories that their canon sorta lends itself to re:just who the Hell Kaitou Kid is dodging where he'd always thought SOMETHING was up) that aren't even on Conan's radar right now.]

That's good to hear. I imagine I should let you go - we should get moving here before They catch up, and you should be keeping an eye out for Heiji; would hate for you to get caught alone in the fog here. [Yes, he did catch that reaction.]
