Fate 28 -◘[Video/In Person]◘-
[It's early morning on New Years day and the lobby has found a bit of new decoration. Well, it's not like you wouldn't be used to it by now, right, Manorites? That little 'Happy Birthday'-setup should be a pretty familiar time. It's also in the background as Ryuutaro clicks on the video feed.
He himself is dressed in a pretty fancy and warm-looking kimono, looking only a bit prettier made up than usually. He smiles.]
Good morning and a happy new year to all of you. In case you wondered about this set-up and who it is for, please do not pay any mind to it and just go on with your new years day celebrations.
I have indeed been fortunate enough to be born on this day, but I don't really do anything for it.
Thank you for this bit of your time. I'm off for Hatsumode now.
[He opens his fan and ends the feed. Meeting him anywhere from here to one of the quieter shrines is possible.]

[Even if that was complete nonsense. He did not need much for an accurate prophecy, but his customers, however believing, would usually not think that was true. For some reason to them, things of great might, had to be interesting to look at as well. At times he was mainly payed for making a show.]
At least it was enough along with the rest of the 'magic' I know.
[The slightly ironic pronounciation on magic was the most he could give to say 'Actually it's circus tricks and some illusions, nothing more'.
He had not ever talked this honest about his work before. It was because Hayato was not a customer and could be trusted. Usually he'd rather be hurt than admitting to his tricks and secrets. It was a magician's end, in terms of work. Even if his circus-tricks were nothing he was overly fond of. Actual hypnosis and illusions suited him better than that, he'd mainly leave that fake-magic to less talented people..
He leaned against Hayato a bit, smiling.]
Japan's winter aren't that bad, you know? It would take a lot more to incapacitate me.

He smiled at the mention of Ryuutaro's ability. If it weren't for that ability, Gokudera probably would have treated him VERY differently.... then they wouldn't be like this. Everything Ryuutaro said just made him smile a little. It was nice being able to just talk so comfortably with someone. It didn't matter what it was, they already knew everything about each other. If truth week happened again, he got the feeling he wouldn't really care. Ryuutaro knew how he viewed himself, if Ryuutaro asked about his time on the streets he would answer. Likewise, Hayato got to know the few things Ryuutaro was ashamed of, and the younger boy was honest with him. It made him feel kind of special...]
You're lucky you're so special! Your world sounds pretty nice all around. I was taught to use dynamite since I was six, it was really the only thing worthwhile I could make a living off of.
[He cuddles a little closer about the winter comment, laughing a little.]
I'll show you an Italian winter someday, then you'll how bad this winter is.

[If Hayato was to show him Italian summer however, Ryuutaro would probably end up complaining twice as much as Hayato did now.]
And my world is not that nice, but I suppose nice enough, especially after seeing the places we have been at already.
[He did go through a lot of pain in his world, pain no simple monster apocalypse could make him go through. But right now he didn't feel anything bad as he talked about it. This was a comfortable conversation rather than something depressing and he could talk about everything just fine. Supposedly that was what trust was about.
Being able to carelessly mention things without having to be brought completely on edge first.]

[While a big part of him hated his homeland, another part of him was desperately homesick. He missed the language, the climate, the sites, the food, and the culture. While he was very much an outsider to most Italians, he knew how to blend in and look like he belonged. Even his little gestures would fit in, and he wasn't as awkward as he was in Japan. In Japan he had to think about everything he did before hand to see if it would make sense to the culture. It was hard, and he missed just being able to act as normal and not really be thought of as some strange foreign creature.
He let that guard down around Ryuutaro a little bit. He knew there was no way he could hide something like that to someone so close. Still, he had to keep it in check enough so that Ryuutaro understood what he was doing and why.]
Well, you came out right, and you lived sorta like I did. I wonder what Sicily is like where you're from...
no subject
[Hey, some open straight-forward arrogance, isn't that refreshing?]
It might be a nice place in comparison, but sometimes comparison just does not cover all there is to it.
[He'd seen so much misery lately, it was hard to see his world as just some kind of utopia... Even after all this time. Maybe because the last person from his world he could talk to had been Reiji.]
As for Sicily... I wouldn't know, I'm afraid, I never left Japan before I came here. Not yet, at least. I was planning to go on an international tournament one day, should they ever hold one.

As arrogant and self-centered as Ryuutaro could be, seeing others hurt could shake him up pretty bad. He remembered talking to him during the slasher week, and the week in the zombie-city, and he remembered him talking about the organization he joined. Which, by the sounds of it, didn't take a single life.
The teen chuckled a bit and smirked.]
I dunno, it always seemed pretty soft to me.
[He took a deep breath and looks off at nothing in particular, his smile turning slightly bitter.]
Don't visit it. Italy is one thing, but if it's even remotely like the Sicily I know, it's a big shit hole filled with the scum of the Earth.
no subject
[But this is just nagging on him quite a bit. He isn't angry, but the way Hayato talked about his world without having been there did bother him a bit.]
'Soft' is an easy word to say, having not been there. But I doubt prison cells vary a lot between the worlds.
[He said it casually, not in the mood to fight at all, but unable to let go of this without further talking it out]
no subject
I wouldn't know... I never got stuck in one, but... I remember during the slasher week, you got really shook up. More than most people.
[His smile returns, and it's a warm one. It wasn't something that he looked down on, just the opposite. It was endearing. He felt Ryuutaro was so lucky to come from where he did, and that plot was the first time he had gone to see Ryuutaro after they met.
He holds Ryuutaro a little tighter.]
I thought it was nice.... well not nice but... y-y'know... it was...
[His face scrunches up, and he scratches his hair with his free hand as he tries to think of the word. Well, he knew the word he wanted to use, but calling someone 'sweet' wasn't exactly the most manly thing ever. Ah, what the fuck ever, this was Ryuutaro.]
I thought it was sweet of you...
no subject
So?
[He merely remembered having been miserable on that day, but if somehow something positive came from that, he certainly didn't mind.]
That's nice to know.
no subject
[He let out a sigh, god turning feelings into words felt weird... and horribly awkward.]
I almost forgot there were still people that were bothered by that sort of thing. [He shrugged again] It was nice to be reminded.
no subject
Yeeah, Hayato, you enjoy when Ryuutaro is feeling bad...Ryuutaro thought back to that day for a moment. Back then he thought he should've seen it and warned the victims. Today he knew that there was no use in such a thing at all.... He forced the thought away.]
I suppose I will remind you of that a few times more often... Because it would take me a lot to fully get used to it.
no subject
[He brings his free hand to brush Ryuutaro's bangs away, exposing his forehead to plant a kiss on it. He holds it there for a moment, and nuzzles against Ryuutaro's head again.]
Don't get used to it. Once you do, you get bitter and cynical, and then you don't smile the same.
[He moves his hand to cup Ryuutaro's cheek and stroke it with his thumb. He loved Ryuutaro too much to let him get jaded. That was why Hayato had to be the one to die, and he would do it a hundred more times if it meant Ryuutaro could keep even the smallest bit of his innocence.]
no subject
My smile will always change though. I'm always changing after all and hopefully for the better.
no subject
As long as you never end up like me.
[And after briefly glancing around the cafe (he was still rather shy after all) and leans forward to give him a little kiss, proud that he got to kiss such a special boy.]
no subject
I still prefer you to all the other people.
[Maybe he was getting slightly off topic here, but that didn't matter. They weren't getting anywhere with gloomy talk like that, it was New Years day and Ryuutaro just wanted to have a calm day.]
no subject
He let out a content sigh and opened his eyes looking up at Ryuutaro with a smile]
I'm so lucky to have you Ryuutaro.
no subject
Safe to say, this was the best birthday ever.]
