[Kid stayed up until the wee hours of the morning straightening picture frames.]

[In all the public places of the mansion.]

[Fortunately, the image of him is just him being groggy but fully dressed instead of partially dressed.]

[Also, he's glaring at a flower-like chalk drawing on the floor.]

Honestly. Has she no respect for people's privacy?

[He goes to get a bucket and scrub brush. As soon as he leans in, brush at the ready, the chalk drawing glows and suddenly there are flowers all over his floor.]

Okay! I get it! I'll try not to wash them off anymore!

Apparently, they're not just drawings: They're arcane symbols. Most likely for protection. I'm lucky I didn't end up getting my arm blown off when I washed them up.

[He may be a reaper, but that'd still hurt a heck of a lot.]

They don't look like any symbols I've ever seen. Most of the symbols I've heard of I haven't actually seen though, so I guess that's not much help. [Pause.] Could symbols like that really hurt people?

In my world? Yes. We've lost several good Meisters and Weapons to improper removal of spell arrays.

Oh wow! The symbols in my world only trap things. They can't really harm people. At least, not that I know of. [Pause.] What are Meisters?

Meisters are the technicians who work with Weapons. For clarification, I mean the humans who can turn into weapons not more mundane ones. They assist my father in reaping the souls of the damned.

People can turn into weapons where you're from? That's so cool! What kind of weapons do they turn into?

[Pause.] Like souls that are suppose to go to hell?

[Video Forever] And series is ambiguous about heaven and Hell, so....

All sorts. Liz and Patty, my personal Weapons, turn into twin pistols. [He's just going to smile happily at that.] But any type of weapon, traditional or modern. My father's personal weapon is a scythe.

[He shakes his head.] I mean the souls that have forfeited their right to pass on to find what afterlife is waiting for them. The souls of the damned I'm referring to are those who have abandoned the path of humanity and have started to walk the path of kishin, demon gods.

That's so cool!

[Pause.] Oh! There are ghosts that are like that in my world, that stay behind. I'm not sure what happens to them or anything like that. So does that mean that you're a hunter?

I suppose you could say that. The term in my world is "Meister" though I'm not simply that. My father is the Grim Reaper, after all.

[chest_rubber]

[She gasps loudly, her hand covering her mouth for a second.]

Oh. My. God. Is that really true?! [Squee.] Does that make you a Grim Reaper too?!

[Not the reaction he was expecting, but he's pleased she's excited about it.]

Not yet. I'll only the Grim Reaper when it's Father's time to pass on, but I am still a reaper.

Is there any training or anything you have to go through?

[ocd_reaper]

My father teaches me what I need to know in managing things so that there will be a smooth transition. However, the very basics of the job are instinct to me, so he gives me guidance with that so I make the correct decisions.

I've been deployed on soul collection missions for years now. [Touch of pride at that.]

That's awesome! You must be the bust, since your dad runs the whole thing.

Well, I technically don't have to attend classes since I already know the material, but I'm hardly the best.

[But he's definitely close to the top and it's obvious he knows it.]

Are you the only one that doesn't have to go? It makes it sound like you're the best, if that's the case.

Well, my Weapons don't have to go, but we all choose to anyway.

Really? Why do you guys go if you don't have to?

Largely social interaction. Up until now, my time spent with humans was largely limited. I need to know how to interact with them better.

Oh! That makes sense. Are you getting along with others well?

[ocd_reaper]

Mostly. [Though he and Black*Star have a friendship that causes property damage while sparring.] Having a bit more trouble here though. It's very different from what I'm used to.

[That and he's missing his balances in Liz and Patty. ;A;]

Oh. Are people not as friendly here or something?

[Becky doesn't have a lot of friends at home, the poor thing. She doesn't have that sort of balance with others. Even Chuck ran out on her.]

No, it's just taking some adjusting. Like the sun and moon don't have faces. Even the magic here isn't obvious with how it works.

So I make mistakes. [Like erasing those symbols.]

Well everyone makes mistakes. The smart people just learn from them.
