Craft 004:: Robin - post-tournament
[They had won their fight. That made the bruising and lacerations on Robins body worth the trouble, or at least that's what she kept telling herself as she examined her injuries in the mirror, wincing as she ran her fingertips over one of the discoloured patches of skin on her side]
no subject
It's me. I brought you something that might help.
no subject
Oh, thank you - would you like to come in?
no subject
You're welcome.
[He puts the med kit on the table and opens it up.]
How are you feeling?
[It seemed strange to him that he was paired up with a girl half his age but that wasn't the stranger issue. The fact that she was taking the damage meant for him made it even harder.]
We don't have to fight the next one if you don't want to.
no subject
No, no it's alright - I've had far worse, trust me.
[As if on cue, a sharp pain travels up her side, and she struggles to hide it, but continues to smile]
I'm feeling better, thank you
no subject
Liar.
[He moves from the chair to the medical kit.]
Lift up your shirt.
[He knows she's going to protest about this but being an agent, he was forced to learn how to deal with injuries that were well hidden.]
You're going to have to trust me. I'm not going to do anything other than to look at your wounds, okay?
no subject
no subject
Damn.
[He set to work putting together the gauze and the tape in small patches. Once those were done and set aside, he took the cotton ball with the tweezers and began to dab the wounds with the antiseptic soaked cotton.]
I know this is going to sting like hell. Feel free to hit me later.
no subject
It's alright..
no subject
Give me your arm.
no subject
Thank you - I appreciate this
no subject
You're welcome.
[He dipped the cotton ball in the solution again and this time, he has more than one out since the wounds on her arm are deeper.]
Robin. You really don't have to do this.
[Yes, he's actually a bit worried.]
no subject
It's alright, really-
[She winces, letting out a small whimper as he starts cleaning the laceration on her arm, the antiseptic seeming to permeate even the uninjured flesh]
..you needn't worry about me.
no subject
As you wish.
[In his mind, his words played through, "That's not going to stop me from caring."
He quietly continues to clean and dress her wounds then moves to the other arm. So many cuts for such a small frame. He wondered why the roles hadn't been switched.]
Let me know if this hurts too much.
no subject
It stings a little, but it's fine..
[she glances up at him]
How many fights do you think we'll have to take part in?
no subject
[He grabbed a salve for the abrasions and another cotton ball with the tweezers.]
I've never experienced something like this before and if it's a tournament, what ever happens to the winners as a prize hasn't been announced. I'm not sure what the incentive is or why we're fighting in the first place. If it's to prove who's stronger, it's a waste of time. Nothing can really decide that on a physical or mental level.
Personally, I hate it.
[He was careful not to use too much since the gel was meant to coat and aid in healing rather than to be a glob of goo on the wound.]
So, what's your world like?
[It was merely a question to get to know Robin a little better. He thought of her like a little sister and the pride that she held reminded him of himself in many ways.]
no subject
I hate fighting as well, although sometimes it can't be helped
[At the mention of her world, she frowned a little, perhaps trying to think of how to describe it]
My world..well, I'm not from the past or future or anything like that. I was born and raised in Italy, but I moved to Japan about three years ago, to work with an organisation..
[She pauses for a moment; should she tell him about the STNJ? She didn't know how much she was allowed to say. But, she decided to risk it]
..the organisation, they specialize in hunting and capturing witches; that is, people with super human abilities. A lot of the time, these people are harmless, or don't know about their power. But sometimes they can become dangerous and unpredictable, and so that's where we come in. I work as a hunter.
no subject
In a way, I'm a hunter too. Only my job lies in politics. Assassinations, coups, political takeovers, they are all part of the game. My specialty lies in creating coups. The more chaotic a system is, the best chances of being overthrown are only a few steps away.
If I were to build a resume, it would read much like a compendium of a hunter's journal. I hunt terrorists and drug lords.
[He begins wrapping up her hand.]
It's not often that I talk about this. Some things are best left unsaid.
no subject
[It was only when he started bandaging her hand did she realize just how many wounds needed dressing, the feel of gauze and the smell of antiseptic horribly apparent]
So, you're part of something big as well? Like the FBI?
no subject
[He finished up and looked her arms over to make sure that he didn't miss any.]
Some people get the idea that we're out there to stir up shit just because we can and kill indiscriminately. That's not true. We cut ties to a lot of things and there are times that a few bad agents get through. It's all work and it's all part of keeping the balance. Without it, the world wouldn't be the same.
no subject
[She takes her arm back, and runs her fingertips over the bandages, before looking up at him and smiling]
Thank you for this
no subject
Well, I'll admit to the normal person they seem about the same. The FBI works on a federal level. The CIA is international and generally holds a larger key than any other. The difference is one has rules, the other breaks them to get the job done.
[He nods his head and packs up his kit.]
You're welcome. I've had to do it many times. I can remove bullets if I had to.
no subject
Well, all I can really say is that I'm glad I didn't get shot, on top of all this..
no subject
Good to see that you're feeling better. Bullets are a bitch. Get some rest, Little Sister and I'll bring up your dinner. No one has to see you like this, okay? It's up to you if you want to show those marks or not.
no subject
Thank you, you're very kind
I don't mind too much if people see me or not - my dress will cover most of the damage anyway, so I suppose it could be worse
no subject
Very well. I'll see you later, then.
[He stands up and picks up his med kit and moves toward the door.]
You know how to reach me should you need anything else.
no subject
See you later..
[Voice]
My apologies if I am interrupting anything, I just felt the need to get in contact and let you know I am very sorry for our fight.
Normally I would never have been involved in such a thing. Do you require any medical attention?
[Voice]
I'm sorry, I don't recognise your voice - have we met?
[Voice]
I never caught your name, miss..?
[Totally not mentioning the seahorse bit, even if it was in front of them all.]
[Voice]
[She remembers the fight, and how the taller of the pair had, at first, refused to fight because of the risk to his sacrifice. But, as far as she could remember, it had been Hatori who had told him to carry on, that he'd be alright..]
Sorry, my name's Robin
[Voice]
[Such is Hatori's way, put others before himself to a self-destructive point at times. This bein an ocassion of that.]
A pleasure.
