Cake & OCD - Exactly 1 Year [Video/Action]

[The first thing L did this morning was curse when he realized just where he was. One year ago at his arrival he had to deal with this and he's wondering just now if it isn't another attempt to poke at him.

After what happened with Mello- He needed his head in the game. Story line that is. For once it was he who had the upper-hand in knowledge.]

Mmn...

[Bullox. This is important and he can't keep his mind from feeling like a laymen schoolgirl idiot.

It takes only the sound of a familiar thing to have him hiding and making his call. At least the prosecutor had everything else under control.]

Mello. I realize the awkward nature of the situation we find ourselves in, however this is quite important.

We are in a place named 'Jurassic Park'. You need to seek shelter and try to give me a location. I've been here before.

Be on your guard, aside dinosaurs and the movie-strict realism, a Kira suspect may or may not be here as well. The last time I was, he was too.

[Audio] Second Bullet: It's the Season for Giving...and pranking maybe?

[Shane is standing in Time Square, the rustle of something heard in his hand, is that a bag? Why yes, yes it is. For you see, the Author saw to be so kind as to douse his best friend in glitter and now he's out picking up a few things to 'help' the situation. It can't be seen but in front of Shane is a large tree as he stands in the middle of Times Square.]

Well I'll be damned, that's one hell of a tree right there.

[About fifteen minutes after that is said and Shane has chatted on his communicator Rick can be heard walking up to him. The man gets an idea and flips the communicator in his hand, flipping on the video function. Apparently when in a pinch he knew the device better than he may have let on as he broadcasts a glitter covered Rick to anyone who cares to see.]

[L and his hands-in-pocket, slouched over look shuffle down the streets of their current city. It's unnerving, seeing faceless people, but he's seen worse in his time here. He's already tried calling home and there's no point in that it seems.

His wide eyes scan the horizon of where he's walking to, on his way to eighth avenue. He stops to look in a window, pondering the contents of the inside of it, then moves in the building. It's never too late to browse.]

Cake & OCD 009 | Ryuuzaki | [In Person]

[Those wide eyes you see are definitely the ones familiar to some of the residents, ones that he doesn't simply creep on and then wander off otherwise. Though let's face it, being creeped on (said as looked at) by L is only trumped by a few elite.

Even as a wide-eyed little tot, L still has the same look, except its more wide-eyed wonder than wide-eyed accusation, or a rake over of bodies to steal all information.

No, this little boy wandering down the hall is just L, "Ryuuzaki" as a small child; corruption a thing of the future he hadn't experienced in the form of the countless crimes he's seen when he normally moves through the halls. His clothes are much too big for him and more than likely that shirt is the only thing he's wearing over his limbs save for the gracious author giving him adorable little denim shorts.

In his hand he has a small bit of fruit he was able to nab from a series of chairs and stools that are probably still set up in the kitchen. The hand is wet with the juices as well as his long shirt sleeve. He shoves the orange into his mouth and noms past the rind in some bit he managed to pick off with his little fingers. It's messy but it's food.

Anyone who can hear it, really only hears what his guide could while shoved against his stomach in the side/front of his denim. He takes his toys with him, too.]

[In Person/Video] (Backdated so hardcore.)

(OOC: Before I start this, I'm Super sorry this is .......this is a halloween backdate because it's L's birthday .___. I realize how far back that is, but unfortunately I can't help it. Please, by all means, if you skip it over from bein' far back, you're not gonna hurt my feelings lol! But if I didn't at least do it I'd not be in love with myself. OK. That's all.)

[[L certainly had hoped that after seeing what many had gone through, that the Author would have forgotten his birthday among all the madness. Unfortunately for him, since the rest of the place was thrown into turmoil.. She had picked his bedroom and his favourite nook (the library) to read in as the places to desecrate with vile innuendos. Phallic images, in appropriate artwork which looked to be from a variety of different people- he was sure, however, that no one here would have drawn them and if they did, certainly not this many different people.

The one redeeming quality?

Well, that's where the video shuts off. L sitting with a lovely, fresh as daisies cake on his awkwardly positioned lap. That's right, he drug it right onto his lap on the plate it came on. With a fork placed ~~firmly~~ in his precarious grip - if it could be called that - he broke the fork through the layers of cake with reverence and tastes it like only a cake connoisseur would.

Over and over, that is. Slipping the fork into the perfectly baked cake and sweet icing all at once. It does have an interesting flavour, but there's really no such thing as death here, and he doubts that after all this time- his birthday cake would be his demise here. Beside that, it was delicious.]]

Unfortunately, I cannot believe that you are real, Light-kun, Kira.

Oh, but I am, L, "Ryuuzaki-kun" I am. Not only that but I've won back home. You're death triggers your successors of course- sneaky as you always were. I killed them and won. They're dead, all three. I didn't even have to have a hand in any of their deaths, I soiled others' with your tainted, unworthy blood.

[There is silence, he knows that Near survived, his age proved it but... perhaps since 'other' people... No, he couldn't believe that sort of thing. That Mello was dead.. That Matt had died.. that was enough for him to live in guilt about his own death rather than having died in bitter sweet triumph.]
Really, Light-kun. If you're Light-kun, you'd have known better than to try and lie to me after both of my successors have been here with me, more than once. It's true, about two of them, but I know well enough you didn't "win". My successors are my greatest legacy; intelligent, strong willed and driven- against all three you wouldn't have stood a chance.

You're the reason they're dead, L. They're dead, I win-- as for your greatest legacy. What about a certain name I remember? One Beyond Birthday? I wrote his name by my own hand and crushed him in the cell that you most likely drove him to.

[Again there's silence, and a small, remorseful sigh.]
I claim no responsibility for the mindset of others, though, I am responsible for his initiation int-- ..... [There is a worn sigh and he shuts off the device prying into his private conversation.]

Taunt 007 - [Accidental Video / Mello & L ]

[L has never been a graceful man, well, perhaps once or twice in his life. His fighting style requires grace and co-ordination... Sleep, however, requires none of that, in fact, it only requires that (for a few hours every few zillion months) he shuts his eyes, flops on his bed, then flops around on his bed until such a time that he wakes up and decides to go and troll a few unsuspecting personages. He flops to the side, making a little discontented noise at the lumpy pillow he must have hucked beside him flopping in his sleep.]

Nnngh.. cherry cake

[And Mello has never been a heavy sleeper. A footstep, a too heavy breath, once or twice even a mouse scurrying in the hideout was enough to wake him up. Thus, a lanky body rolling, curling, knocking him into the side, and shoving him into the wall was more then enough to wake with up with a start] What the F-MRPHFF!

[Mello's sudden break off in line isn't much a big deal to L. He simply mutters something to Light along the lines of 'stop moving so much' and then puts his foot in "Light" 's back and pushes forward. Usually that would kick Yagami off their shared bed and pull him successfully by the arm into the middle of the bed. ....This time, however, seems a bit different. He's not moving and neither is Light. The familiar tug of that handcuff isn't showing up either.]

[There's a stream of curses as something is now kicking Mello into the wall insistently and being in prison for a week with that damn Gokudera, Mello's sleepy mind half assumes its him, and thus without looking back, shoves all his weight backwards against the thing kicking him.]

[That's new. Sure, Light threw pillows because he said pillows were more dignified than fists ...But he never did that before. L puts his leg down and blinks his bleary eyes- Oh, Light bleached his hai- ...] ....Light-kun?

[He sits up, rubbing his eyes and notices a distinct lack of chain, then becomes coherent and stares down at his second in line.] A-ah. ....Mello. Good morning. Did you have a bad dream?

[As if nothing happened.]

Cake & OCD 006 - [In Person//Audio]

[In Person]

[[L, or Ryuzaki, depending on how you know him- sits quietly in the main hall, staring at the door as though it holds the world's secrets to it. His eyes are wide and unblinking, unmoving for that matter. He's studying it as one would study the most troublesome of quandries. His feet are pulled up on the chair ledge and his hands rest on his slightly outspread knees that he's leaning ever-so slightly over.

What he's thinking of is all the things Near told him before he left and all the things he's learned since. He's sound in his resolve about Light- but for some reason it seems.... Boring without him around. Less sinister, but boring.

If it weren't for the two intellects that he knows were here from his own world, he may even worry he's going to starve for intelligent conversation. But with Misora and Mello around, he should be fine.]]

Cake & OCD 005 - [Accidental Video]

[[L has seen what happens when someone doesn't take care of their child and with Mello pint sized, the last thing he needs is to have that happen to him.

Roll tape.
L is in his usual sitting position, except he's taken said position on the middle of his bed. His thumb poised at his lip as it pushes the soft flesh askew from its normal position until inevitably it falls the wayside and his blank expression returns to its rightful start. Plucked between pointer and thumb in his other hand, the detective is studying what seems to be a little pink bow between his fingers.

His eyes are glued to it, so much so that this could be the one thing that solves the Kira case if he hadn't already. Long, spidery arms reach forward and out of the screen's view where a small set of undoubtedly slobber filled giggles awaits the person watching long enough to hear the gleeful noises.]]

There.
Now you'll be unmistakeable as a girl, Elle.

[[His arms raise again and a small infant comes into view, pink bows set in no particular order in her hair tied meticulously in the raven locks just long enough to hold them. It looks a mess even if to the detective it doesn't. To him, it's fashion statement of the century for babies.]]

Cake & OCD 004 - [Video//In Person]

[[He's not one to be assumed a stupid person by anyone who knows him, he's human all right but not by any means a stupid one. Mistakes have been made both by him in more than one incarnation and back home, it seems that things here aren't going to turn into some sort of clusterfuck of heart-attacks so with that.

And the knowledge he has otherwise.

He's decided he'll plod along the beach bare-foot of course, his shoes are in his hand should something come along that looks as though it would be too sharp to walk on. Or rocks. No one likes- well okay some people like rocks under their feet, but not him. Not his sensitive skin.

He's wearing a sun visor ~~chosen simply because the visor had retractable glasses. Toys to play with while walking!~~, a new (though baggy still) shirt over his usual white one-- Can't have his arms being burned by the sun-- and his signature blue-jeans. Nothing were more comfortable than those. Though, sweatpants are second only.

They're not, however, attire for the beach.

His finger moves to his bottom lip while he wanders around in the sand, hunched over still while he walks and holds his shoes in the other hand. He's never had a vacation befo--

He crouches down, impossibly so, then watches a small hermit-crab make its way along. Finger at his lip the whole time, he keeps his composure looking analytical of even the poor thing's walk to wherever it had been going.]]

Cake & OCD 003 - [Video / Garbled Audio]

[[The screen may look as though it's going to be showing someone's face about any moment, but it seems otherwise has been planned for the system by the giant "" spaced out on the screen in a fancy lettering. Guess who's found his predecessor's method for posting anonymously in this fashion at least? His voice is high, garbled and un-gender-specific via this method though there is a hint of baritone in the after-effect.]]

This is L.
I've noticed from a recent arson that many detectives have come forward to 'solve' this rather hum drum case. So this begs the question, just how many people out there are detectives or involved in enforcement for that matter? My curiosity has gotten the best of me.

I refuse to respond to anyone not using a secure, unhackable line.

Cake & OCD 002 - [Accidental Video//In Person]

[[Familiar, to some, lanky pale hands pass by the communicator, shoved deep into blue pants and half obscured by a white shirt. It's momentarily shown and it's only because of the approach near to the apparatus. His face is obscured by the height at which he's chosen to leave the communicator and furthermore so is the room, along with the rest of him save for waist height as he plucks up the device no higher and shoves it into his pocket.

Thusly, this ends the accidental video. Nice try, he's learned things happen accidentally.]]

[[L's shuffling his way along the hallway out of his and Light's room, furthermore he's looking rather well considering the rest of the place. Or his time he spent with Ulquiorra who was obviously also sick just the other day.

His steps aren't calculated, he's already gone up and down these halls enough to obsess over mental mapping of areas. It feels, though, like he's been asleep for some time. He's restless. His encounter with Light a ways back is far from his mind but at least by its surface but at the moment he's not going to dwell on it.

As far as he's concerned at this very time, it's whoever's body it was; considering even his movements were limited to Light's own. He's hoping to run into the body, truthfully, to dissect it with a few well placed questions. Either way, he's going to make his rounds, see what he can see and maybe even hunt down something sweet if he can manage to find it.]]

Cake & OCD 001 - [Video]

[[Unaware he's being watched on some sort of video device, L jerks upright from what could only be the most traumatic thing of his young life. His dark eyes look out from under his messed hair to the sound of his rapidly beating heart in his ears- his heart. ..He touches his chest, looking down there at that point as though that would explain why he was suddenly not where he should have been. He notices this bed isn't exactly the floor he remembers falling to and that this blankets wrapped around him weren't the arms of his cohort grasping him [SPOILER]in his dying moments[/SPOILER].

Slowly he slides his legs to the side, over the edge of the bed sitting motionless a while while studying his surroundings. Apprehensively he stands with the blanket around him, he still feels cold. He's not sure if it's the temperature or if it's the wrath of a scorned reaper. With a lick of his lips to wet them down again, they seemed to have gone dry, he steps to a window, setting his pale, delicate fingers to the glass. It was raining back home too that day.

His mind races and his unblinking eyes try to take in what he's seeing outside, which admittedly isn't much to give him to go on for location. He makes his considerations about his personal situation as well, the fact if he's here then ... then if he's here--]]

Watari?

[[L finally turns around, looking into the room itself and says the name louder again.]]

Watari?

[[As he passes the communication device, his eyes scan over it and they narrow, realizing he is indeed being at least recorded by the device based on what he's seeing. He walks over briskly, takes a quick look at it and shuts the feed down almost as soon as he has it in his hands.]]

Clue #008 :.: L (Ryuzaki) :.: [Accidental Video]

[From the viewpoint of the Blackberry on his desk, L is across the room, standing adjacent to the window. The skies have been overcast the last few days, but right now the sun is threatening to break through amid the thunderstorms that have been rolling by. He has pulled back the curtain and is waiting for the sunlight to filter in through the pane of glass.

When it does, he moves forward just slightly, still safely out of its path. He regards it with huge, fascinated eyes.

Then, without any hesitation, he reaches out his hand and plunges it into the weak beam.

There is a light a sizzling sound, like flesh coming in contact with a hot stove. L hisses in pain and jerks his hand out of the sunbeam. He cradles it in his other hand, grasped around the wrist. He stares at the damage he's done to himself, and the sun fades back behind a cloud.]

[L is at the outskirts of town. He's crouched in the middle of the road, barefoot. He shivers slightly in the cool breeze – or at least, it appears he's shaking from the cold.

He's not moving.

He will not be moving.

He's done all the math. If conditions are as he fears, right here, on the asphalt, equidistant from any buildings or the forest, he will be safest.

Never mind what he will eat. Or drink. Or what to do if it rains. He'll burn those bridges when he gets to them.]

Clue #005 :.: L (Ryuzaki) :.: [Voice, locked to Manor Residents]

Hello. This is Ryuzaki.

In light of recent incidents, I would like to call a meeting, open to all residents of this manor not currently under suspicion of delinquency. There has been a certain level of lawlessness overtaking this residence, and it simply cannot be tolerated anymore.

I propose we work together to set up a set governmental structure and lay down laws, as if this was any real country. We may be small, but our population only seems to increase on a weekly basis. If we do not structure ourselves, more unfortunate incidents will occur, and I simply will not allow anarchy to reign here. I expect most of you feel the same. If we combine our intellects and efforts, we can set forth a democracy that will ensure the safety of the masses and punish those who truly deserve it. And, likewise, if anyone has been jailed unfairly, justice can be served. I do not want anyone to declare a tyranny. [Even himself.]

We can also decide what is to be done with Keiichi Haebara's remains. A funeral or other memorial service, and set this as a precedent for our deceased. Although I hope no one else meets a violent end while we are here.

For those currently detained for crimes committed, I will speak to them myself and provide them with a summary of the points covered in the meeting.

I propose for this meeting to take place tomorrow night, Wednesday the 8th, at 7 PM. The location will be the parlour.

[A pause.]

And please do your best not to allow your unwanted houseguests entrance. This does not concern them.

Clue #004 :.: Elle (Jae Ryuzaki) :.: [Voice...?]

[At first, there seems to be no video, just blank white. Then, with some rustling, a letter comes into focus. A large Cloister Black letter. But it is not an L.

It is a J.

And then, the speaking starts. Kinda high-pitched, kinda scratchy, undeniably ~~annoying~~ American.]

HOLLA!

Soooo, everyone's like, wondering what's up with all the family just showing up, right? And no one remembers the rest of us, huh? Well. I have been detecting~ the possible reasons for that. And here's what I've come up with.

You've all been mindwiped by the Author into forgetting us. SADFACE!

But. Don't fear. The best way to battle this is to get to know your visitor again. Don't fight it. Maybe spending some quality time together will jog your memory! I know that's what I'm doing with my dear sweet brother.

[That's when the big black J shakes and falls off the screen -- well, the whole paper that was being held up in front of the screen, in fact. Beyond it is a heavily makeuped girl with black/pink hair and bright aquamarine eyes. She is also covered in tattoos because she is oh so ~*~edgy~*~. She gives a happy giggle, because there is the sound of a door opening.

Then, there is a very firm L's voice demanding, "Turn the camera off." Some random scuffling ensues, and the feed cuts out.]
