[Mamimi is bundled up and breathing harshly through her aching lungs. She's sitting close to the fire, so close it's almost as if she's considering touching it. But for the first time in hours she's pulled her gaze away from the fire and is looking intently on her lighter. Her gloved fingers are slipping clumsily over the Zippo but it will not ignite. It's not the fault of her gloves, the internal mechanism has frozen solid. However, Mamimi is not about to give up. Unlit cigarette between her lips, she holds the lighter at nose height so she has to cross her eyes to watch it as it clicks, sputters, and fails]

[Kuja raises his brows and nods. Well, it's nice for some at least.]

I'm curious as to how you have managed this considering our current setting.

[The Genome slumps forwards with a large frown, resting his head on his hand. When he gets tired he gets grumpy. And right now it's a royal pain in the rear.]

[Mamimi thinks about what she's going to say to her Lord the Angel of Destruction.]

My chest hurts. It's hard to breathe. My skin feels like it's on fire sometimes. And nothing's working.

[None of her lighters that is. And now her camera is frozen too. She casts a look in the direction of the Canon, her eyes are almost pleading. She feels a sting of anxiety, worrying what will happen to the film inside the camera.]

[He gives her a look of utter disbelief.]

How can you then claim to be perfect? I don't understand.

[Then again since when had Mamimi made any sense to him at all?]

[She smiles pleasantly at him]

[He considers this and leans back, warming his feet by the fire.]

Tired. The only way I can stay sufficiently warm is with my magic and it drains me with such a constant use. I just want to go back to the manor. I feel disgusting.

[How long had it been now without a shower? He didn't even want to think of what everyone else was like.]

[Mamimi reaches out cautiously and gently lays her gloved hand on Kuja's shoulder.]

It'll be alright, Kuja-sama.

[It not that the touch isn't welcomed, it's just a great surprise to him. He tenses, if only for a second and rubs his eyes.]

The sooner this is over the better...

Tell me when the flame is gone Mamimi..I'll cast another once it's disappeared.

[She retracts her hand and nods mutely]

[With a light exhale on his part, it's not long before he's dozed off, not out of the cold, but pure and simple exhaustion. The flame will keep burning by itself for a while longer. Though Mamimi will need to shake him awake to cast another one soon.

No rest for the wicked as usual.]
