[ Vegeta's in the kitchen today. And he's a hungry pup. The cabinets are so high...! But no matter to Vegeta. In fact, he will make this into a game. His target is the peanut butter jar. Vegeta loves himself some peanut butter. But it's high up in a cabinet, a cabinet he can't reach at this height. Hell, he probably wouldn't have been able to reach it at normal height. ]

Hmph.

[ Vegeta decides that rather than flying up and getting it, he'll climb. He opens the cabinets down below and climbs up on top of the doors, grunting and using his fluffy little tail for balance. His tail wiggles as he balances himself and climbs up onto the counter and reaching up for the cabinet doors. He pulls them open to reveal his prize: PEANUT BUTTER! ]

Hah.

[ He smirks and grabs onto the foundation of the cabinet and pulls himself up, tail wagging with effort as he did. He pulls himself up into the cabinet and kicks the jar of peanut butter down onto the cabinet. It busts and cracks its plastic on impact and he snickers. ]

Oops.

[ He drops back down and picks up the jar before jumping down from the counter and looking around for silver ware. Finding a blunt butter knife, he starts scooping out the peanut butter and licking it up. ]

[The blackberry had switched on to show a tiny Oz curled up in a chair, arms wrapped around a small black rabbit plushie as he sat there as quiet as anything. His had found his friend's name had vanished from his door and he knew that meant that he was gone. He had lost the only close friend he had here.

The people he had left behind back where he was from were in danger... Alice was in danger and needed him to help and here he was...in the authors story still some months later, no closer to seeing any of them again. A ball of black fuzz sat on the desk next to him, purring away like nobody's business as Oz peeks up ever so slightly, looking at the Tribble for a moment before looking at the black rabbit plushie. He held the plushie closer to himself as he once again burried his head in his legs.]

[The video feed clicks on to the study; he's doing his damnedest to be about as professional as he can get in his eight year old body and clothes. He's also very good at straight-faced ignoring just how ... odd the whole Srs Bizness bit sounds coming from him right now.]

I know this might come at an inconvenient time for a lot of people, but we don't know when we'll have a more peaceful week again, so it's better to try and get this out of the way ahead of time.

The last attempt at a legal system fell apart - and honestly, this is too fluid, too chaotic, too small, and too mixed of a society for anything too static to stand; anything that exists for keeping relative peace is worthless if the majority doesn't at least accept that it's there for a reason, and we're all from too varied backgrounds for any one person's rules to apply. Those of us from worlds with well-established systems of law have to remember that those laws took centuries and a lot of shared background and culture to get to that point, neither of which we have.

I think there is a place for something here - but it has to be minding what the original purpose of things like that was - being there for the benefit of the people. I know there's volunteers who're willing to step up when there's some kind of flagrant abuse going on, but all it'll be is a continued joke if we're not working with everyone else here and letting everyone have a say in it.

I also think whatever gets built, it'd be almost more useful more often to plan some kind of "disaster response" to deal with some of the Author's more dangerous plots and be prepared when it happens; we're going to have to put up with weird disasters, monsters, and whatever else she comes up with, and if we can have something in place so those who're willing to help can make sure the people who might not be able to take care of themselves are as safe as they can get, so much the better.

So, I want to have an open meeting - Friday or Saturday, it doesn't have to be immediately - to bring together the people who want to volunteer to help around here, and anyone who has an opinion on it and wants to get their say in, to get ideas together and get at least enough agreed-on that we can work on the details without being completely caught off guard the next time something insane happens. Whatever we might be, we're all stuck in the Author's game, so there's no reason to treat each other as enemies in that regard.

If you don't think the people involved will listen to you - I'm not from most of your worlds, and I have no real reason to care about your background or your history. If you have a good idea, then you have a good and useful idea... you can contact me or anyone else that's been involved that you'd feel comfortable with privately, and don't have to make a target of yourself if there's some other conflicts you don't want drug into this.

[OOC: There'll be an open log post up later; it'll be forward-dated so there's plenty of time to respond without it feeling rushed.]
