Cup 011: Iroh [Video]

[Iroh looks like he's in some store. It's hard to tell, because it's somewhat dark. Iroh looks rather winded and on high alert.]

Those creatures out there are dangerous. I don't know if anyone else has dealt with them, but they don't go down without a fight.

[The camera angle shifts. The shelves behind Iroh are filled with what looks like bricks and wheels of cheese. A natural hiding place, it is.]

If anyone's out there, find somewhere to hide. You shouldn't be out alone.

[Dende follows, keeping an interested eye on the flames under Iroh's control. As soon as they reached a safer area Dende was definitly going to ask him about that. It looked like quite an interesting skill. oh wait. right he's supposed to be helping here too. Dende forms a small Ki-blast in his hand, just in case. So far there's nothing.]

Iroh, if things get dangerous on the ground I hope you wouldn't be adverse to flying?

[He casts a quick side glance to Iroh, but still keeping a close watch on their suroundings]

[Iroh gives Dende a quick look as he runs.]

I take it you can fly, then? By all means, do. It'll be quite the experience for me.

[Still nothing yet, but Iroh's wary. His warrior senses are buzzing. This isn't a safe place.]

Alright then!

[While running Dende ducks a bit and swings Iroh's arm over shoulder]

Hold on Iron!

[Wrapping his other arm behind Iroh's back for some added support, Dende takes off high into the air. He quickly finds a nice tall building to perch on. Gently he sets Iroh down. He would've remained skyborn longer, but he didn't want to drop Iroh if they were attacked in the air... besides Iroh was a bit heavy ~~someone's been indulging the French quisine a bit much eh Iroh?~~

Hopefully the rooftop would be a safe enough place to get there barings. While not entirely inaccessable to those wandering around, it was hopefully just troublesome enough to discourage any unwanted guests]

[Iroh brushes the dust from his robes. ~~don't blame him. It's darn good!~~]

An extraordinary trick. Thank you, Dende. Hopefully we'll be safe up here.

[Iroh looks about, hand shading his eyes from the sun.]

I cannot see anyone else. You have younger eyes, Dende; what do you see?

Ah thank you... it's not that amazing really...

[he rubs the back of his neck shyly]

Ah... let's see...

[Dende closes his eyes. Unfortunately he couldn't sense the kishin as they had no life force, the other members of the manor, however, were a different story]

Most of the people from the manor are in pairs... a few groups of three... maybe a bit more... but they are all very scattered, no large groups. I can't sense any of the kishin though.

Troubling.

[Iroh strokes his beard in thought.]

There is safety in numbers. I suggest we find the nearest residents of the manor. Where are they?

[Dende leans over the side, looking off into the distance for a moment before turning back to Iroh]

Right... they are... to the North. Should we fly again? Or would you rather travel by foot?

[Iroh considers.]

Do you have enough strength to fly any longer? I can walk by foot if you're not up to it.

Ah! Of course... well at least for part of the distance...

[and a nervous neck rub, he's not keen on admiting his physical frailties even though he's got quite a few of them]

It's not that distance that I have a issue with... um...well you're just a little bit heavier than I thought you would be... I'm sorry....

[Iroh laughs.] It comes from a life of good eating and relaxation. And the food in this city is far too good not to eat.

[Dende chuckles]

I must admit I do recall them having amazing pastries...

[He sighs]

It's a shame that the Author doesn't allow us to relax more, this place would be much more bearable...

Indeed. Though I feel I had plenty of relaxation last week. Too good to last in a place like this, I suppose. But it was wonderful while it lasted.

[He sighs and folds his hands together.]

To business, then.

Unfortunately I don't recall much other than the sweets, I was rather new to eating at the time... and became rather enthralled with them...

[he chuckles]

But yes to business.

[Dende bends down a bit and reaches out to Iroh]

[Iroh readies himself for flight again. He inhales deep, ready to defend himself and Dende should they come under attack.]

[Dende takes Iroh's arm and braces him to the best of his ability]

Alright, here we go!

[And Dende takes off, flying as fast as he can towards the other group]

[Iroh ignores the strain under his arms and watches the ground below. The others can't be too far away. He'll just keep looking.]

What's that down there?

[He points to a small knot of what looks like people down below.] Is that...?

I'm not sure, should I land?

[Dende stops and glances down at the crowd]

Yes. Let's see what's going on.

[Certainly not because this is not a wholly comfortable experience. Not that at all.]

[Dende nods and lowers himself to the ground. He let Iroh down gently, but desn't take a fighting stance. Because of course those human-like things couldn't possibley be hostile.]

[Or are they? They don't seem right, somehow. Iroh's on the alert.]

Hello there.

[Will they respond? He waits for them to say something.

He speaks in a low voice to Dende.]

Stay close to me.

[Dende nods and swallows a lump in his throat, a TEENSY BIT more on edge now]

[And oh? One whips it's head around with a big eary smile on it's face and starts giggling. With an odd lurch of it's head it charges at them, followed by the rest of it's group]

I-Iroh, I don't believe these are humans!

[...way to point out the obvious...]

[Don't worry; he figured that out already.]

No they are not. And I don't think they mean us well.

[Iroh lunges forward at the nearest one. A blast of fire tears from his closed fist and erupts against the nearest creature. It screams as the flames engulf it, but more keep coming.]

Help me, Dende.

R-right!

[Dende lays one hand over the other and shoots and forms a ki-blast in his hand]

MASENKO!

[and the shot is fired sending one of the Kishin through a nearby wall. He adopts a proper martial arts stance and lines his back up against Iroh's]

That's quite an interesting tecnique Iroh, I've neer seen anything like it before.

It is Firebending, a gift unique to the people of the Fire Nation.

[Iroh inhales again and whips his arms around. A ring of fire springs to life around the two.]

This might hold them off for a while, but we have to keep moving!

R-right!

[Dende grabs Iroh and hastily takes off again in search of somewhere safe. Once more he gorws tired from Iroh's weigh and decides to land once more. Deciding on another rooftop Dende descends and touches down lightly. Iroh didn't seem very comfortable with flying and Dende didn't want to make things worse for him]

S-sorry Iroh, would it be alright if I rested a bit?
