Spell 013 [Video]

[The camera shows a blank surface; it is, for those who have seen it, very obviously the top of the desk in the room that Ritsuka and Soubi share. There is nothing and no one in the shot. But then, a long-fingered, pale hand appears, carrying with it a large, neatly gift-wrapped package. It's of a slightly irregular shape, flat around the edges but raised in the middle. An envelope is stuck to it: on the front, it says, "for Ritsuka" in big calligraphic writing.]

SOUBI!! I can see you!

That's good for you, Natsuo. But this is Ritsuka's gift, not yours.

I can see that, but if I can see it, so can Ritsuka!

If I didn't show him, how else would he know where to find his gift?

[It doesn't really look like he cares.]

Yep.

Ritsuka told me that, too.

Mm. It doesn't make any difference to me.

[Sitting in a parlor and trying to figure out how to get his gifts up to his room, he picks up the phone to call Soubi. It's then that he notices the strange video.]

Soubi? Soubi, your phone is on.

[The phone is turned and the feed shows Soubi's face. He is smiling broadly.]

Hello, Ritsuka. Oh, how silly of me. I had no idea it was on. Now I've ruined the surprise.

[Nope, he's not being very convincing.]

[Nope. Not at all and that slightly cheesy smile of his is only make him suspicious.]

Tch... weirdo, what's with that face? Get down to the parlor, I need help with something.

Of course, Ritsuka.

[And he's down there in less than thirty seconds, awaiting commands.]

[And there is Ritsuka, sitting on the ground surrounded by items, torn up paper and ribbons. There is also a velvet red choker on his neck with a small gold bell that is ringing softly when the boy waves at his fighter.]

Morning, Soubi.

[Soubi stops short. If he were less disciplined, he would probably be gaping. Why is Ritsuka wearing a collar? He swallows and approaches Ritsuka with a smile.]

Good morning, Ritsuka. You look exactly like a cat, with all that ruined paper and a collar.

[No, he can't resist.]

[Indeed he was the picture of a kitten on Christmas morning. Soubi's words only making the images worse. His tail fluffs and an unamused expression crosses his features. A small hand shoots up in the air, pointing a finger at Soubi... this of course only makes the bell ring more.]

Shut up! The collar just wont stay off. Stupid author...

[He grumbles and rips it off ... only for it to reappear seconds later back around his neck.]

TCH! SEE!

[A slow, kindly smile crosses Soubi's face.]

Maybe you should keep it on until she gets tired of watching you wearing it.

[Not that he will ever get tired of it.]

Or were there instructions with it?

That was that plan. No, no instructions...

[He grumbles and moves a hand over the bell to stop it from ringing.]

That sound is going to drive me insane!

[A angry hiss slips out of him and he pulls it off, then tosses it across the room. It flies out of view, then a soft ring can be heard from around Ritsuka's neck.]

Stupid THING! Hiss!

[Soubi can't stop smiling. This is too cute to be true. He reaches out and brushes a hand across Ritsuka's head, between his ears.]

Keep acting like that, and she'll never get tired of it.

[His tail swishes in irritation.]

Hmph, she's so annoying...

[The cat ears twitch around Soubi's hand until Ritsuka's shakes his head to free himself. The tiny bell jingling loudly.]

Anyway, I wanted some help bringing this stuff back to our room... Oh, but, you should see if you have any present first.

[He knew he'd gotten Soubi something and he would of liked to watch the man open his gifts. He wonders if Soubi's ever gotten a gift before...]

[He looks to Ritsuka, surprised.]

I should open my presents first...?

[In answer to Ritsuka's unspoken question, Soubi has indeed been given presents before. But all of them were from Kio, and they've always been opened in private. It feels a bit strange to be indulging himself like this in front of his master.]

Yeah, of course, aren't you curious to see what you got? I want to see you open mine.

[The boy crawls under the tree to look for Soubi's gifts. He nearly disappearing behind a pile of presents, if not for his tail showing.]

[A smile spreads across his face. Ritsuka got him a present - that makes him feel warmer inside than any fire or hot chocolate could. He picks up a present from the front of the pile Ritsuka is behind.]

It's here. Is yours the one with blue wrapping paper?

Ah, yes! [The perks before his head sticks out from behind the pile. He points down at the three blue boxes. There was also a medium sized one that had a hand made coupon book good for one kiss, hug, hand hold, and a blank coupon for Soubi to fill in with anything he wants. Finally there was a small box that has a new pair of butterfly earrings (http://www.buymesilver.co.uk/earrings/sterling-silver-butterfly-stud-earrings) in it.]
