[Ran's in the kitchen. She's been a bit concerned about how quickly Conan disappeared after opening his presents until it hit her -- being away from family and friend's at Christmas has got to be really hard for a kid his age. She's in the kitchen, putting the final touches on a Christmas cake -- being from Japan, this means a light sponge cake filled with whipped cream and fruit, topped with more cream, icing and strawberries. Ran's carefully drawn a familiar pair of glasses on it -- Conan can share with Haibara. Maybe the three of them can have a Christmas party in their room? She's carrying the cake carefully down the corridor when she sees a familiar silhouette and stops short like she always does.]

Shinichi?

[Shinichi stops too to to smile at her and give a small wave]

Yo, Ran.

[It is him! Ran feels an immediate rush of relief -- followed immediately by uncertainty. She's not sure whether she's still mad at him, but how does he feel about her ...?]

What are you doing?

Maa, It's Christmas so I decided to take a break for a while and come find you-wanna go for a walk?

A walk? [It's been too long since they've hung out ... Ran feels momentarily guilty for changing her plans with Conan.] Give me a moment to get gloves and things -- and I have to take this to Conan-kun.

He's probably playing out in the snow-why don't you leave it in the fridge with a note and you two can eat it when I have to get back to work?

[Okay, that was the Shinichi she was used to. Ran snorted as she started walking towards Conan's room, leaving room for Shinichi to walk beside her.] Baka -- the rest of us don't revolve around your schedule. Let's leave this in his room, see what he's up to first.

He's a kid-he's probably outside-most kids love the snow.

I've been fine-just really busy-Have you adjusted to this place any better?

It's a lot to take in ... but knowing that there are other people here in the same situation, it helps.

[Ran's silent as they walk. She -- doesn't like the sound of that. She doesn't like Conan and Shinichi having been here by themselves so long even less.]

I'll stay as long as I can- but this place has me really busy since I've been helping to keep things civil here-a lot of people are against the justice system we're trying to keep en-stated but no one's offering ideas to fix it-so it's been a lot of work.

[He doesn't want to waste any time he has with her either- which is why he's being so impatient]

A-ah... s-sorry, about that... [he scratches his cheek a bit nervously-feeling more guilty about that then he lets on]

Shall we go?

[Ran pulls her coat more tightly around herself before grinning at Shinichi.]
