Page Six: [In Person/Text]

[Anyone who wanders in the kitchen will find Light sitting at the table using his newly honed water bending abilities to manipulate hot water from the kettle into a mug in which he has added a few fragrant loose leaf green tea leaves. As the molecules move in synchronized unison, and carefully fill up the cup, the corners of his lips twitch upwards in smug satisfaction for a short moment.

The smile disappears as a rumbling crash seemingly shakes the entire Manor. Silverware rattles and plates threaten to fall off the table. The tea cupped in his hands however, remains safe, not even a single droplet spills onto the floor; Light's power holds it steady. He takes a careful sip of the hot liquid, as he muses. The rest of the world seemed as though it would end at any moment. Light never believed in nonsense like the end of days, or Armageddon, but what was happening outside wasn't so far off from that. He switches on his Blackberry and sends out a text message.]

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on?

It definitely does. I'm glad I had help that time. I'm hoping now that there's a chance that we'll have some deputized citizens soon that can make arrests and possibly help with other matters for the whole of this place. I'm sure it'll get bigger before it gets any smaller.

Oh hey, by the way while I'm thinking about it, I should ask how everyone is. At least make myself a little more public.

[He considered what Light "said" and paused before responding.]

You're right.

[The last thing he needed was to be too open and people poking him for personal information. His job was one thing. His private life is a different matter entirely.]

Yeah.

[Another pause as he thinks about the powers and how chaotic it was for those not used to having them which included himself in that equation.]

You have a valid point. All it takes is for one idiot to make a move to hurt someone else with that power and cause some unnecessary damage or worse. I'll keep my eyes open for that kind of activity instead.

Well, that's very true too. I can't say that I have any basis of comparison since I've never had this sort of thing happen before but it's interesting to say the least. It's all about control and how many that don't have it is pretty indicative to their discipline. I hope that didn't sound too condescending.

[Text] It's cool. I've had that happnen before too.

I guess Spidey put it best. "With great power comes great responsibility." It's a good rule to live by and he's right.

Yeah, it's something my partner always seemed to pick on about me. It's geeky. I know.

[Tom's embarrassment was a bit on the lighthearted side.]

You're right about that. Question. Why are these phones so advanced with keyboards and stuff? They remind me of stuff out of Star Trek. Can they take vitals too?

Nineteen-eighty eight. It's a mess, I know. I'm like twenty years behind everything.

[If Light could see his face, he's wincing.]

And I thought I was old.

I think you're right about that. Now that I think about it, it's pretty stupid to be hung up on those things when it's clearly not that relevant since time is condensed here for some odd reason. I'll be 23 soon so I'll go with that.

Gah, I feel stupid just now.

To be honest, I don't think we would age the same here since we are not in our worlds and it's possible that our age as stagnated but our minds haven't. It's like....being in time freezer.

If everything stops in our world simply because we're not there in it, then that would mean that...you know come to think of John Dillinger should be dead but he's here so that means that we're traveling on parallels but time stopped in our original locale, if that makes any sense.

[Text] It's all good.

Not really. It's a plausible explanation. I'm no rocket scientist so I can't claim my answer as true anyway.
