[Audio]
[Light is sitting cross-legged on his bed, his expression alternates between fury and hopelessness at a book that he has unknowingly opened upside down in his lap. The endless stream of bickering coming through the Blackberry is irritating the hell out of him. Clearly the investigation lacked leadership, because from the sound of it, all of the self congratulatory morons were running around like headless chickens. But even so, this is a transient distraction that he clings on to, because otherwise he would be forced to think about how stupidly helpless he felt at the moment. The truth is, Light cannot bring himself to contribute to this investigation; being unable to read has left him feeling as though he is without a right arm.
When yet another message comes through the network, he grabs his own Blackberry and hisses angrily.]
Either try for some goddamn unity or be quiet.
[There is an audible sigh, before the feed switches off.]
[[ooc: Basically Light is illiterate until Sunday. Stick poke if you want to. Figured it'd be a relief from all the srs bsns. Good luck trying to get him to admit that he can't read if you do.]]

[He half smiles.]
...I'm really quite alright.

[He wasn't sure whether to push it, after all they weren't as close as some of his other friends, but.. well it was a test of trust. His tone finally dropping that playful hint. He'd engaged his responsible adult mode.]
Mm, I'm not sure I quite believe that, guy. Wanna talk about it?
no subject
[The bitterness is obvious in his tone.]
About what? The fact that I can't... [He trails off here, his arms folded across his chest, a defiant, haughty glimmer in his eyes.] Well I don't need to say it, it's obvious enough.
[Another sigh as he runs his fingers through his hair.]
...Sorry, I just feel helpless. A murderer is on the loose, worse he's from my world, and if he were to write "Die Light die" on my door, I wouldn't be able to... ah forget it.

Hell, I'm used to if someone's giving you hassle, you give them a good old fashioned smack down if a verbal one won't do it. We can brawl with each other and the authorities don't get involved unless it's a total shitstorm.
[Then again he watched Scott make Lucas grind rail to his death. Which, was kinda dark, especially as he'd have shattered his knee cap in real terms and probably mangled his face beyond all recognition at that speed...oh well. They got 17 bucks out of it.
He rubs Light's back soothingly. Giving an equally drained sigh.]
Hopefully this'll all pass right over.

If only it were that simple.

How so?

Do you know that feeling where it seems everyone you know is waiting for you to make a mistake?
no subject
Being one of the only openly gay guys in high school, you get used to the feeling of being judged for everything you do.
Is this just with people getting antsy about the killings, or are some people round here giving you shit?
no subject
It's neither one really. Grudges from beyond the grave, or some such nonsense. I admit, I may be rambling. Make yourself comfortable, by the way.
no subject
Sorry-- Well, you wanna talk about it? Letting this stuff build up's pretty much a one way ticket to the funny farm.
no subject
It's funny you should mention the funny farm. We're already in it. Or at least that's how it feels.

[He could tell he was dodging the question. It must have been pretty raw.]
Either way, I'm serious - for once - if something's getting to you then I'll be the metaphorical shoulder to cry on.
no subject
[A genuine smile flickers across Light's face for a moment, then vanishes.]
Though I doubt you want to know all about my dark, mysterious past, I'll be sure to remember that.
small>[He says the first part in an obviously joking tone of voice. The latter statement is more serious. Not that Light ever intends to provide the metaphorical tears for Wallace's metaphorical shoulders.]
no subject
Hey, we've all got our skeletons, guy. My past isn't all sunshine and unicorns shitting rainbows - as, faabulous as I am.
no subject
No doubt. You'd think being here, you would at least be free of that, but no such reprieve.
[He laughs bitterly, then turns his face back to Wallace's, his tone subtly indicating that was all he would be saying on the matter.]
So if your past wasn't sunshine and unicorns, what was it?

Such is the ways of a teenage girl with an obsession with the drama llama.
[Raising his brows he looks up, considering where to start.]
Well, I've spent the last few years of my life every weekend going out to clubs, picking up guys, bring closet cases out, stealing every single closet case boyfriend Scott's sister picks up, getting the alias 'manslut of Toronto'...
Hell, that's not even covering what I did during University and High school. Unless you want all the juicy on that?
orz I forgot this was here
No. No, I don't need to hear about all that. I think I've gotten the whole sordid picture. [He winces internally at the wording. Perhaps sordid was a little too extreme. He laughs cheerfully.]
If you did that to Sayu, I'd have to punch you.
XD it's fiiiiine
Heh, whatever you say guy. Though my High school efforts were more about revenge than anything else. Pretty sure I destroyed a guy's life there.. [He
Pfft, I only go for guys that are painfully closeted. I like to think I'm setting them free from being unhappy for the rest of their lives. Repression and denial only make things bad - Hell look at Catholicism.
