001 Beyond Birthday [Audio]
[Had Beyond Birthday cared to put in the effort, he could probably name the exact genus and species of the prehistoric flora that surrounded him. He did not care. The only thing that matters at the moment is that this place is not Room four-oh-four. His thoughts are scattered in chaotic disarray, an unpredictable, teeming mass of anger, annoyance, and desperation hidden behind a deadpan mask enhanced by perfectly applied powder. Wammy's had taught their projects well. For all of Beyond's anguish --all his plans derailed!-- not a single trace of it was broadcast through the Blackberry. Or rather, none of it would have been broadcast. Suspicious, and paranoid, Beyond Birthday would not reveal his face, for he knew very well the value of a person's face, to individuals unknown. Long fingers encircle the device, his voice, an almost soothing, rumbly sound in-between tenor and baritone. An oddly zen tone, considering his rather....unique circumstances.]
Good evening.
[A short pause, as B wets his lips.]
My name is Ryuzaki. I seem to be...
[A second pause, as he searches for the appropriate word. Lost? Confused? He frowns in the darkness. Subjective information would hardly be helpful to anyone.]
... sitting on top of a creature, a ceratopsid, long extinct. A triceratops to be exact. What is the meaning of this?

In any case, Ryuzaki-san, you've arrived at the Manor... well, it's not a manor right now. On a normal basis, all of the people here are trapped inside a mansion at the mercy of a deranged teenaged girl called the Author who enjoys playing tricks on us. This happens to be one of her tricks: from what I've gathered, we've been projected into a crappy American horror movie that involves dinosaur mauling.
There are boats, escape boats, on the docks. You might want to head towards them.
Or just stay put... by the end of the week, we'll have been transported back to the Manor and everything will be happy-dandy again.
This is a movie.
[Sullenly, he transitions from audio to video. There's only one thing that would make this situation more tolerable.... If this despicable exemption knew L, then surely she would react to his face.]
Is this... usual for this place, Kitty-cat?

My name is Koto, if you're looking for something different... and no, usually the "events" that the Author schedules take place in the Manor itself. Last week we were all reverted to children... [She trails off thoughtfully.] I personally haven't been here all that long, though, only a month or two.

Just who in the hell do you think you are?! People are dying and you're complaining about sitting on a Trike?

Ryuzaki Rue. Unprivate detective. Perhaps you'd like to explain to me what is going on without unkind assumptions about the nature of my inquiries?

Fine. You're either a clone or you were brought back here without your memory but for now, as it stands, we're locked in a death plot. As you already figured out, we're amid dinosaurs. Someone made mention that this seems like a book or a movie but I'm not familiar with either so take a guess what kind of answer you're going to get from me.
[He continues his work to stabilize Claudia but he's preparing to lose her too.]

He watches the screen impassively, as he continues processing what Tom is saying. Memory loss? Now this was troubling. People knew him? The name Tom Hanson at all familiar, but then again, it wouldn't have been anyway. How many names did B ever care to remember? ...Or, perhaps...familiar in that his face, against all odds, actually did look like L's? Aah, yes, that was the preferable explanation! But how to confirm either theory?
Injury. The girl is injured. B could help. ...Or pretend to.]
I will help.

[Audio/SUPER ENCRYPTED] Please excuse Naomi while she THREADJACKS THE BRAINJUICE outta this convo
[Audio/SUPER ENCRYPTED] It's cool. Tom's a bit oblivious. XD
Re: [Audio/SUPER ENCRYPTED] Oh Tom, always getting caught up in the middle of other ppl's shitstorms
[Audio/SUPER ENCRYPTED] It's okay. He's always caught in something. Usually it's pretty major. XD

KiraGod he was wrong. If he could show up here and he was dead, Light was here, Misa was here, Misora... Then he really starts to hope this is going to be unhappy coincidence. Please be coincidence. But not showing his face, the voice from another time, the way he speaks, the very tone he uses... It all points too irrefutably to one thing. One person.
He's got to get away from Light, somewhere perhaps that the boy was still in visual range, but not in audio range if he could manage. It shouldn't be too hard, Light is giving him the cold shoulder over an -ahem- accidental run in with a smaller dinosaur (What it looked innocent enough? How was he supposed to know there'd be more of them? Sure the distinguishing features were carnivorous but--) that turned rather into a bit of a running spree.]]
Ryuzaki what?
[[Him.]]
Re: [Audio]
What of Ryuzaki?
[Audio] REVERSE MY TROLL WILL YOU!?
That's not an answer, Ryuzaki who?
[[This time his voice is more demanding, and more full of that authority that would normally come with a capital L on the screen instead of a simple audio.]]

[In Person] (1/2) - wat am i even writing anymore idek
Misora could recognize that voice anywhere. Why. Why was he back? Why now?
That glorious day when Naomi had discovered B gone for good she virtually fell into a blissful coma, having not slept anywhere near decently for weeks since his gruesome little stunt at the manor. Her near constant surveillance of that sad, terrifying, freak of a man had almost drained her of her sanity that the fact that she could sleep normally again was practically a gift from heaven.
Her problems, however, had not been entirely solved. Not even close. Kira's very existence ensured that she could never be satisfied here. However, Misora's disgust towards Yagami was personal. Pure, untainted hatred. Sure, prior to Raye's death she had already disapproved of Kira, but she never had any particularly strong feelings about it until he had dared touched her loved ones, dared to make a fool of her. Now, his very name was enough to evoke an almost uncontainable rage. But that was all. Just hatred.
If Misora wanted to be honest with herself, she didn't see Yagami as a mass murderer, not exactly by that term anyway. Her feelings towards him was personal. He would always be Raye's murderer, her murderer, not so much a murderer. He might have exterminated a multitude of people, but none of that seemed as important as the wrongs he had committed towards her personally. Was it wrong to think that way? Perhaps, but fact was fact, and emotions are a funny thing. That said, Naomi never felt the need to keep constant watch over Yagami, not unless they were in the same vicinity, precisely because she didn't see him as a serial killer, someone whom she must protect others, or at least, strangers from. She only saw him as her own personal demon.
B, on the other hand, was strictly a murderer, no questions asked. And a dangerous one indeed. He was unstable, too clever for his own good, a hazard to society, volatile. Who knew what he was thinking, what he would do next? Who could ever understand a man, if he could even be called a man, like him? And that was the very reason why Misora never took her eyes off his cell when it was her turn as guard duty. Even off duty, she refused to drop her guard. Because she had seen what he had done, the murders he had committed, how horrific they had been. Only three in count, more if you counted the ones at the manor, not even comparable to Kira's work, but Naomi had witnessed the extent of those deaths in all its gory details herself, not just heard about it on the news. She had seen the deaths and felt the terror of the manor's residents when B had set himself loose on the complex. It was something Naomi had always felt responsible for, because she knew what B was capable of. She had seen his killings. To her, B is a criminal, her criminal, her responsibility.
If any happened to the residents because of B, it would be her fault. Whether or not that's actually true, it would still be her fault.]
[Text]
If this was the same case, shouldn't B be aware of his previously established reputation at the manor? Could he really be so careless as to blatantly blurt out his existence to those who both fear him and want to hunt him down? Or was he faking stupidity, no, insanity?
Even more disturbing was the fact that the previous B had certainly come from a time where he was very close to his attempted suicide as far as Naomi could tell. Had he been gone for this long, assuming time worked the same between worlds, shouldn't he be "saved" by now? There was no way the wounds could have healed that quickly that the man could be able to speak so clearly and seemingly effortlessly.
Then perhaps time didn't work the same. Perhaps he was not even from the same kind of world. Perhaps not even the same B.]
I assume this kind of setting isn't normal for you then. Where were you last?
[Perhaps you should just get run over by the dinosaur your using as a beanbag and put all of us out of our impending misery. But she knew she couldn't just let someone die.]
[Text]
Had he not already spoken to L, he may have guessed it was him. The paranoia and the authority fit. By now, however, it's obvious that it's someone else. Hanson had alluded to him being here, wherever the hell here was before. Had his not-self made an enemy? But surely, someone else would have responded to the name Ryuzaki. None of the others had. He can't imagine a clone of himself- inferior clone of himself!- introducing himself as Beyond Birthday.]
Somewhere else. Where is this?
