shot o.1 // [voice]

[there's no video to accompany the message: it's strictly audio, whether due to paranoia or the holder's inability to work a Blackberry not immediately apparent. The voice is dry and irritated, coughs punctuating the short delivery he gives to announce himself. It's probably familiar to more than a few people in the manor...]

If this is Hell, it's not a very good rendition. Where's the fire? Brimstone? Demons to make me repent for everything I've done? [a cough, here; perhaps a small bit of laughter that stops as soon as it began. there's not a circle of hell that he doesn't belong in, and he's not sure why he's not there now.]

If it's not Hell, then does anyone know where I can find some chocolate? [his tone is dry on this sentence; he clearly thinks he's dead, and this is all just a hallucination from inside his mind.]

How would I know?

[She's substantially irritated by the fact that he just blatantly ignored her question, but then again, could Naomi really blame Mello for wanting to get straight to the point? She remembered her own frustration that first day she had turned up at the manor, and most residents were less than helpful.]

I suppose no one's really briefed you on the basics of this place yet then? To be honest, none of us actually know how we ended up here, but you can assume its by some form of supernatural intervention. Sounds like a joke, but most things that happen here are unexplainable by logic. You'll find out about that soon.

[Encrypt!]

Does this place not look familiar?

I see, so you don't remember. [Not that she didn't already figure it out, but for some reason, she was hoping she was wrong.]

I already told you that the manor is controlled by the supernatural, so it might not come as too much of a surprise that you, or perhaps someone who sounds awfully like you and share the same affinity for chocolate, have been here before.

We were allies once, [Only partial truth. They had worked together on the B case that one week, and the old Mello had entrusted her with some information, but by no means does that mean Naomi trusts him. She does, however, feel obligated to return the favor even if this one's different.] so I tell you this in order to warn you, Mello, that you might want to be on guard for anyone who recognizes and bears ill will towards you.

[So it really is him.]

We've worked together once before, so yes, I do know your name. To be fair, mine's Naomi Misora. You may or may not recognize it.

In any case, it's been awhile since the old you has been here, so you should be able to start off with a clean slate. Just don't be surprised if anyone else recognizes you. If I recall, the other you didn't exactly have the most controlled tempers around people.

Two from our world in particular you might want to be aware of are here though, Kira and B. I trust you know who they are. The former doesn't appear to be able to act here so he's not a threat. The latter, I can't really say what he's thinking. Another one whom you might be interested in is your predecessor. He's here too.

It appears that quite a few from our world are here, he being one of them, yes.

[She pauses for a few seconds. Naomi had never actively gone looking for L herself, but knowing how near impossible it is to remove these annoying nametags from the doors, it's probably not that hard to find if you search hard enough.]

No, I don't, but I'm sure you can find his room if you look for the name plates outside. They're basically impossible to remove, so it's likely his door will still have one. Of course, I wouldn't expect it to read L. There is a good chance it would have an alias, but I'm sure you are more familiar with those than I am.

You're welcome. [Also for common courtesy. She has nothing against Mello. However, she's sick and tired of being left out of the loop.]

I've answered all of your questions. I think it's only fair that you return the favor, don't you?

You worked on the Kira case, didn't you?

[identity profile] agentmisora.livejournal.com 2011-04-07 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Yes, she figured that given the previous Mello's admitting to having dabbled in shady dealings, but that answer was satisfactory.]

I was too, also not in any official capacity. I managed to uncover some hints as to the extent and limitations of Kira's power. However, I was abducted before I had a chance to discover how he managed to carry out the killings.

[Might as well be straightforward.]

If you know, I'd appreciate it if you would shed some light on the situation.

[If Mello had indeed died, it may be that he hadn't gotten far enough to figure that out, but Naomi can hope.]

[What? How did this end up back with her answering the questions? Oh, she's really annoyed right now but continues to try and keep her cool.]

That Kira needed a name to kill and could kill by means other than a heart attack. He could possibly control his victims before their deaths too.

Your part in the case came after my time, I'm pretty sure based on interactions with the former version of you. So you may or may not already know all of this.
