shot o.1 // [voice]
[there's no video to accompany the message: it's strictly audio, whether due to paranoia or the holder's inability to work a Blackberry not immediately apparent. The voice is dry and irritated, coughs punctuating the short delivery he gives to announce himself. It's probably familiar to more than a few people in the manor...]
If this is Hell, it's not a very good rendition. Where's the fire? Brimstone? Demons to make me repent for everything I've done? [a cough, here; perhaps a small bit of laughter that stops as soon as it began. there's not a circle of hell that he doesn't belong in, and he's not sure why he's not there now.]
If it's not Hell, then does anyone know where I can find some chocolate? [his tone is dry on this sentence; he clearly thinks he's dead, and this is all just a hallucination from inside his mind.]

There's chocolate in the kitchen!

There's at least one silver lining to this that Light happily reminds himself of, and it's that Mello is apparently dead. A satisfying thought really, considering how much Light had wanted to disembowel the bastard with or without the convenience of a functional Death Note.
He's quite tempted to ignore Mello's post and let the brat figure this place out for himself, but that's if Light has the luxury of being childish. As much as it irritates him to think about this way, if he's potentially doomed to spend the rest of his life in the Manor stuck with this damn brat, then animosity would only serve to make an already hellish existence worse. Besides he muses with the beginnings of a smile, if Mello rejects my olive branch, it would only serve to make him look worse.]
Close enough, but not quite. I'd suggest looking in the kitchen.
[voice]
You're late to the party. Someone suggested that before you.
Ah, is that so? Then I'm sorry to be so redundant.

However, what really triggered Naomi's attention was his mention of Hell, a realm in death. Had this Mello been transferred to the mansion after he had already died or was this merely just hallucination from shock? If the Author had power over death at the manor, then it wouldn't be impossible for her to have control over death across worlds either.
Misora can't say she knew the old Mello well enough to decide whether or not she could really trust him, so when she does speak, she does so with caution.]
Don't worry, this is just a mansion, not Hell. Why do you say so?
[Audio]
How did I get here?
[Audio->Private]
[She's substantially irritated by the fact that he just blatantly ignored her question, but then again, could Naomi really blame Mello for wanting to get straight to the point? She remembered her own frustration that first day she had turned up at the manor, and most residents were less than helpful.]
I suppose no one's really briefed you on the basics of this place yet then? To be honest, none of us actually know how we ended up here, but you can assume its by some form of supernatural intervention. Sounds like a joke, but most things that happen here are unexplainable by logic. You'll find out about that soon.
[Encrypt!]
Does this place not look familiar?

Now that that's straightened out, don't you think you should do something other than find chocolate? You're in a strange new place, after all.

Depends. Does being subject to the whims of the imagination of a deranged fangirl count as "Hell"?

But seriously, the Author seems to be a "fangirl" of damn near everything, judging by the people that've been brought here. I'd think a fondness for detective stories and crime fiction, but I've seen just about anything short of hard science fiction so far.

[ She would say that. After all, Light was here. ]
Misa thinks there is chocolate in the kitchen. But if there isn't, Misa had been meaning to make some.
[audio]
Yeah, I got some. [a little flatly; he wouldn't accept chocolate from you, anyway.]
[audio]
Misa can just welcome you to the mansion, then!
