[ Another pause, this one longer. ]

i mean i don't feel unsafe. maybe it's because things look so familiar. maybe i'm about to wake up! .... right?

[ And after a final, hanging pause, she places the blackberry back on the bed, accidentally pressing its keys in passing: ]

When Light reads this text message, there's very little room for doubt in his mind as to who it is, even without the aid of audio or even more helpfully, a visual. But despite this, he's fervently hoping that he is horribly wrong; That this isn't Sayu, but the content- who else would be in a room like his, teasing him about whatever apparently embarrassing toy he had in there, and seeking him specifically?]

[Gokudera didn't usually concern himself with new arrivals... but something about this one struck him... it just sounded like a normal kid. That hit home a bit. So far everyone he had met thus far either deserved it, or were total weirdos.... of course if he had any inkling that 'Light' was actually the so called 'Bowlhead' Hayato had taken a dislike to, his opinion may have been swayed quite a bit.]

It's tough to explain exactly what's going on like this. It's hard to believe anyway but... in person would be easier.

[He pauses for a moment, thinking about some of the more aggressive characters around the manor]

Don't leave your room just yet...

[Gokudera pauses again... he couldn't believe he was going to ask this... GOD being civil hurt so bad]

Are you hungry or anything? the explanation could take a while....

[There's no 'god' in Light's mind--other than himself of course--but he's willing to... well, no, he'd never prostrate himself before a stupid girl like the Author, but he'd at least be more appreciative of everything if this isn't who he's trying to brace himself for.]

[Light, huh? It didn't surprise Naomi at all that yet another person from her world was relocated here, but something different caught her notice this time.

It looks like I'm in your room, the person had written. It seems to be the case that most people's rooms resemble the one they had back in their own world. In that case, whoever had sent the messages either shared a room with Yagami or had a similar one. At the very least, they knew his room well enough to recognize it. A family member? Or perhaps another girlfriend from a different time period?]

Don't worry. You're not alone. Several of us are in your exact predicament right now. I assume that you have already talked with some of the other residents here, but I'll be glad to clarify anything else for you or help out with anything if needed. Are you looking for someone?

[It's almost touching really, that Gokudera cares so much about the welfare of a "kid." Except there's a problem. It's Gokudera. Light doesn't want who he strongly suspects is his sister going anywhere near the caustic brat.

True, Light's respect for him had gone up very slightly after he heard what he had done for Misa, but it's dwarfed by the fact that it's his damn fault for talking in the first place that Misa now has a deranged stalker on her hands, which meant now Light had to deal with B's lunacy as well. As far as Light is concerned, Gokudera is absolutely nothing but trouble.]

[There's little point in hiding it. If this is Sayu, then one way or another, Gokudera will find out they are related. Sure, it gave the kid a button he could press to annoy Light if he were that childishly inclined, but as Light reminds himself, if there's one thing that is more important than any sort of stupid hatred, it's family.]

[Ah well that explains it. Gokudera can't help but be a bit jealous, his older sibling was a source of great torment when he was a kid... heck she STILL was. But the confession from whoever this guy was (since Bowlhead wasn't on the contact list) was enough to calm him down]

Listen, I'm just in the kitchen. Making a sandwich. I'm not going to do anything crazy, just bring her some food. Give her something to do until you can find her, or something. Just to keep her in her room. I wouldn't hurt a defenseless little kid.

[Oh hell no. Light is not alright with Mello communicating with Sayu. He never will be. The problem? Light knows Mello isn't going to be receptive to anything he has to say. No matter how differently this one and the previous one behave, this one isn't above immaturity. Their last conversation proved that much, if nothing else. He'd no doubt try to see how far Light is willing to go to protect Sayu, and he'd rather not find out. The best solution for now is to warn Sayu about Mello as soon as possible.]

Light!

[ The relief that replaces the sick feeling in her stomach's so sudden and strong Sayu almost vomits. It's okay. It's her brother. He looks fine, if worried. ]

Where are you? Where's mom and dad? What's going on? We're okay, right? Are you... are we just inside my head? Am I sleeping?

[ A short, nervous giggle as she looks off to the side. ]

Why am I even asking? You can't be super smart if I'm making you up, and it's not like I'm going to be sleeping for much longer, anyway....

[ STRANGER DANGER TRIGGERED.

Luckily for Gokudera, Sayu's too nervous to notice her brother's basically told him to go fuck himself! And whoever this is doesn't sound dangerous, so... she'll compromise. ]

[ A small pause. ]

[ It's kind of bothering Sayu, that this conversation's private. ]

[ .... Uh. Stranger danger triggered again. Sayu's too disoriented and nervous to respond for the time being. ]

[ Pause. She steadies her fingers. ]
