Wow, I haven't done an actual post for Kaito in a while have I?

[Kaito totally had nothing to do with the snow in the entrance hall. To prove it, he's over in the garden, training with his doves (That's what the Author got him for christmas, but I haven't really figured out exactly where the cage is being kept >>;) and practicing his other magic while he's at it. Totally Innocent.]

[Kaito has a dove on his head and another in one hand when he looks up and sees Light coming his way.]

Hey, Yagami! Going for a walk? [He does in fact notice the state of Light's hair of course, but rather than outright ignoring it, he does acknowledge he notices, but he doesn't comment or laugh.]

[Light catches the glance at his hair, and yes, he is acutely aware of the fact that it is splotchily dyed in unnatural colors. While he appreciates the fact that he isn't being outright mocked for it, the lack of laughter or comment for that matter, only increases his suspicions that Kaito did indeed set up the snow in the first place. For now, he matches Kaito's tone.]

Something like that. [He smiles.] I see you managed to avoid the mysterious snow indoors.

[Kaito snorts.] Snow indoors? Was that the Author or did someone pull another prank? Wish I could've seen that, but I've been out here all afternoon.

[And then he tosses the dove in his hand in the air and it vanishes in a puff of smoke, replaced by a rubber ball, which he catches and tosses from hand to hand.]

[It's a nice attempt really, but Light is not having any of it. There are definite trends to what the Author is doing this week, he's sure of it. From all the time he's spent here, he's noticed that not a single plot had been repeated. If there's one thing the Author can be counted on to do, is to at least stick to one theme during the course of a plot. True, he couldn't be entirely sure that this is the case, but the repetition of previous plots could very well be the plot this week. If that were the case, then, no, the Author wouldn't invent a new one in the middle of a week.

it's most definitely a prank, and really, there's only one prankster here. Light is looking at him right now. True enough, Megamind, from what Light had seen on public feeds would fit into that category, but really, what would a bald alien even want to do with hair dye? It's definitely a human.]

Impressive. [He doesn't actually sound very impressed at all.] So, how long is this hair dye going to last?

[Ah well. That one ball has now become two, and then three, which he is juggling as he answers pretty nonchalantly.] It should come out in a day or two if you wash it a few times.

[Light makes a disgruntled noise. He could be angrier about this and once upon a time, he might have shouted at Kaito for it, but all things considered, a spectacularly awful dye job is the least of his grievances.He would have been more irritated if Kaito had pranked him specifically, but his idiocy is obviously directed at everyone. More importantly? The Author is out to get Light on a personal level. It's the only explanation he has for her constantly bringing in undesirables from his world. Then again...Kaito would make a wonderful outlet for all of Light's problems. Nothing like having a a perfectly viable scapegoat to take off some of the tension.]

I'd be careful if I were you. You wouldn't want to anger the wrong person, Kuroba. You might find yourself missing a ball or two. [A smile.] It'd be a shame if you couldn't juggle anymore.
