2nd illusion || Rokudo Mukuro || [video/in person]
[The feed comes on showing a full shot of Mukuro sitting on his bed, leaning forward comfortably, elbow on his knees and head in one hand, his trademark trident being held upright with his other. His mismatched eyes almost glowing in the dim light of the room. On the floor in front of him is what looks like a body all garbed in black, face down on the ground with blood pooling around his middle. Clearly he's set the camra up as such to put on a bit of a show.]
My, my, not even two days and already I seem to have made someone irate enough to have taken a stab at my life [pun]. Kufufufu, a shame he was such a weak minded fellow. Why, he tripped and fell right on his own knife.
[There's no sign of any sort of struggle... at all, even the trident is lacking any trace of blood. Though Mukuro seems unfazed, his usual smile gracing his features... though his brows are knit together in irritation.]
If anyone knows who has something so against me, I would very much like to meet them for a...chat. That will be all thank you.
[And the boy gets up, stepping over the body and picking up the device to shut it off. It gets a close up of his face, however there's something just over his shoulder. Without missing a beat Mukuro drops the device to the ground, taking his trident in both hands. He sticks it in the masked figures gut, and begins pushing him.. The two go off screen and then there's the sounds of glass breaking. In a moment Mukuro comes back on screen, picking up the device as he glances out the window, looking downward with smug satisfaction]
Oh dear, poor fellow. That looks rather painful....
[He clearly doesn't care. However, his eyebrows knit together in irritation again when his eyes look once more into his room]
I hope that doesn't stain the rug....

[Voice-private/In Person]
[The reply comes a minute or two after that, and he's looking up at the window as he makes the call-]
I don't know who it was, but I'm not happy with whoever this individual is, either -
Particularly since they got up and walked away.
Re: [Voice-private/In Person]
Kufufufu my, he's quite the hardy one then. My apologies, I could have sworn he was dead after he fell on his knife. It seems he's surprised me twice now.
[Granted he had forced Ken and Chikusa's bodies to move after they had gone through a similar situation. So while it was a minor irritation, it was no surprise]
And who might you be? Has this mystery man been after your life as well?
[Voice-private/In Person]
Saguru Hakuba - and not mine yet, but I'd wager it's the same one that killed someone else earlier. [He shifted the penlight down where the tracks in the mud and grass were; the attacker had gotten up and lumbered off, unsteady for a moment, then vanished. Sadly the light was likely not enough to cut through it to be visible from the window, but.] I'd say I'm surprised, but I've learned to hedge bets on expectations here - I don't think he's one I've met so far here, and if he wasn't familiar to you, then there's decent odds it may not've been a personal grudge.
Re: [In Person]
[Hmmm... how should he phrase his dealing with his attacker without sounding like he got some sick satisfaction from it....]
... dealt with things accordingly.
[Now if this fellow only knew it wasn't exactly novelty for people Mukuro wasn't exactly familiar with to come and attack him. Of course they were either of such insignificance that they didn't need recognition, or he had a plan for just such a random occurrence.
regardless, this 'Saguru Hakuba' piqued his interest. Seemed smart enough to know what was going on at least. Such intelligence was well deserving of show, which Mukuro would gladly give him.]
I recommend you stay by the grass for a tick, my friend.
[Mukuro uses his trident to clear the bottom window of glass before stepping onto the sill. He jumps from the window and lands gracefully on the ground. A feat no ordinary human could pull off, much less one that just a few days prior could barely walk. He clicks off the blackberry and walks towards the other male, calmly.]
[In Person]
[He does stay put for Mukuro's entrance; he'd rather guessed from the video post and what he'd gleaned so far about their murderer's behavior that this one wasn't normal.]
If only our mysterious friend had actually stayed down when you dealt with him.
[He gestures with the penlight at the disturbed grass and mud, and tracks...] The tracks just ... vanish a little bit that way; he had some trick for getting into the house or out of sight without leaving a trace, mundane trickery or otherwise. [He wasn't going to rule out the supernatural, but neither was he ruling out the sort of chicanery he'd be more used to back home.]
I don't believe I'd caught your name...?
Re: [In Person]
[Mukuro squats down by the tracks to take a look for himself. Perhaps this one was an illusionist as well? He would have to be QUITE the skilled one to fool Mukuro though... he leans down to where the tracks end, observing curiously. No illusion that he could see]
Usually I would say it's all a matter of perception, but that doesn't seem to be the case here... at least not as far as I can see.
[He stands back up with his trademark smile.]
Ah, my apologies, how rude of me. I am Rokudo Mukuro, it's a pleasure.
[In Person]
[That turn of phrase has him curious, now - not that he'll show it, but there's something very odd about phrasing it like that...]
Mine as well. [No reason not to run with basic courtesy, right?]
I'm afraid that the nature of this place adds some extra trouble to narrowing down possibilities, at least until we can determine whether our new "friend" is another new resident, or a trick of the Author's...
[Which has him taking a couple suspicious glances at the fog - if it's her doing, what is she playing at?]
Re: [In Person]
I expect the latter. It would take a special sort of fool to arrive in a foreign situation and suddenly put forth this much effort into a slaughter. It would imply a great amount of disorganization. However, he attack on myself seemed planned, he was silent, and he didn't use the door... and his little disappearing act leads me to believe that he is quite the capable fellow. It doesn't add up, there's nothing to be gained from this sort of behavior.
[He turns back to Saguru with his ever-present smile.]
I'm sorry, I'm rambling, this isn't my field of specialty. I shouldn't be spouting my nonsense.
[He was fully aware everything he said was dead-on. While he doesn't speak from professional experience in the way he's implied, it's far from a novel concept... "it takes one to know one" sort of situation....]

[In Person]
[Contrary to the movies, it took time to get enough of it to take effect, and he was trying not to breathe in as much as he could; if this were any normal human, his struggling probably would've forced the Killer to choose between focusing on his grip or moving back into the fog.]
[Unfortunately, it just seemed to slow things a little, and he really wished he could swear when things like a heel to the shins and an attempt at tripping up Killer's knees or ankles with his own feet didn't seem to accomplish much of anything.]
Re: [In Person]
However the man's stance was large, and he wasn't willing to broadcast his mind control or illusion abilities just yet. Especially to a smart one like this, who he had yet to get a good reading on. No, there was only one chance to do this. He would have to switch from the first path of hell to the 4rth, but in his weakened state without the illusionary benefit from the the 1rst path he wouldn't be able to move. But if he went airborne for just a moment the he could utilize the combat aspect of the fourth path just long enough to effectively strike Mr. Persistent.
He just had to step a little further...]
Kufufufu...
[just a little more....]
My, my, how rude, you go off and interrupt our conversation...
[THERE!]
and don't even pause to say hello!
[Mukuro sprints forward at full speed, and takes a large leap into the air. The Kanji in his eye switching from a one to a 4 and a with a flame of some sort emitted from his right eye, but only just long enough to strike at the man. Hitting several pressure points for maximum effect (and giving Saguru a little nick on the cheek), before touching down again, though he stumbles forward with uncharacteristic clumsiness. It's only for a moment though, as he switches back to the first state. He turns on his heel to once more face the attacker and digs his trident into the man's back and thrusts it a few times, purely for the sake of overkill...]
[In Person]
[He did notice the stumble, about as he was staggering drunkenly a little himself - light-headed from the attempt at knocking him out.]
[And that was assuming there wasn't some kind of reason for the hesitation - the whole thing was handled with an air where Mukuro was at least acting like he hadn't lost control of the situation, but at the moment he wasn't quite up to drawing good lines between the pieces he had.]
[Well, besides violent tendencies. Definite vindictive violent tendencies.]
Thank you. [He pondered how much of a debt this would count as and what it could be used against him for if he actually voiced it right now without any forethought - forethought that'd be way too much effort right now.]
I think I know what the stupid girl's doing now. Don't turn your back on him.
Re: [In Person]
Oh? enlighten me then. I'm rather new and haven't quite gotten a good grasp on the situation quite yet.
[Mukuro takes a seat on his corpse, interlacing his fingers thoughtfully. He couldn't have the fellow getting up and walking away AGAIN. That would make Mukuro look like a fool! And he wouldn't have that.]
[In Person]
You're in the Manor - no-one's been able to determine where it is yet, or the exact nature of it... but the nature of reality here seems to be at the whims of a teenage girl we only know as "The Author". Various details and strange plots get inflicted on us regularly and weekly, and it seems that this week, she's decided she wants to write a bad horror movie.
For the time being, we're in a slasher flick. [He shoots a look at the 'corpse' - are you really sure you want to sit on him like that?]
Re: [In Person]
[Mukuro wipes a bit of sweat from his brow, pulling a stunt like that while weakened took it's toll. Hopefully this fellow would lose his taste for Mukuro and move on.]
Ah, so this poor sport is the one who's supposed to be killing us.
[He nudges the mans head with the bottom of his trident... fully aware he was far more terrifying then any slasher flick villain.]
Hmm... I fear he may need to be looking for a new career... he's not very good.
[He turns his attention back to Saguru, smirking that same casual smirk
Totally fine with chillaxing on his corpse, so long as he doesn't get blood on his pants]But how did you fare? He did have a go at you after all.
[In Person]
[You'd think a detective so attached to rationality would be more tweaky about this, but after the gerbils, there's not much this place could do to surprise him.]
'm a touch light-headed but fine. [He'd lie and try to cover it, but both his voice and posture are a little too wobbly to pull that one off.] Thankful this isn't like some previous weeks where those with unusual powers have had them weakened or been stripped of them altogether...
[And yes, he is pondering to figure out just how you work.]
Re: [In Person]
Ah, a pity. It would be rather nice to get him out of our hair, but even if that's the way it is, I figure keeping him like this will at least prevent him from interrupting our conversation again.
[Mukuro glance at the body... hmmm he was breathing again already... in a blink the Kanji in Mukuro's eye switches from 1 to 6. The path of possession, that would keep his down for a while. Though now Mukuro looks a shade paler, and his body language changes. It's still casual and relaxed but no longer holding himself up as much as he was, letting his arms dangle on his knees, and leaning forward a bit. He also seems a touch more shaky.
The path switch came at a risk, but as long as he was sitting down he would be fine.]
I'll take that as a compliment. It was no trouble.
[In Person]
...If holding it down is taxing, it should work to stab it a few more times and fall back inside as long as we don't turn our backs on it.
Re: [In Person]
[Mukuro wasn't too keen of giving the thing a CHANCE to come at them from behind. While he probably wouldn't be able to maintain his mind control on it for an extended distance in his current state he could at least ensure his passage inside remained uninterrupted.]
Re: [In Person]
[He walked over and offered his shoulder to help Mukuro walk.] There is one thing I'm curious about...
Re: [In Person]
Oh? And what would that-
[His eyes widen in genuine surprise for a moment and he looks back down at the corpse. While he was expecting to lose his grip on the entity's mind he was at least expecting to take a few steps before hands. Was this because of his body's weakness? He blinks and the Kanji in his eye reverts to a '1', he steps off of Saguru and in a few blinks he seems to be his healthy sturdy self again, and he's not taking his eyes of the killer this time]
...be?
[In Person] 1/2
[He DOES notice the implication of the surprised pause and the increased caution after he gets his health back - whatever power had just lost hold, it was what he was using to hold it down, and all bets are off on what it's going to do.]
[He's cautiously picking up a long stick with his left hand; he briefly considers keeping a hand on his revolver, but it would be a waste of bullets and probably not actually slow the damn thing down any.
What's under that gas mask. [He's keeping as much of a cautious distance as he can and perfectly ready to dodge out of the way if it moves, and uses the stick to push the mask up...]
[In Person]
[A flood of SQUIRRELS scrambling out of the hood, mask, and clothes, scattering every which way with a loud chorus of angry chattering to disappear into the grass, leaving the "body" a deflated pile.]
[There is going to be at least a second or two where, as wary as he is, he's just ... taking pause to blink at the utter wtfery.]
Re: [In Person]
It seems he's eluded us once again.
[As one of the squirrels run by his foot, he impales it with his trident, and flicks it irritably off to the side. His smile returns, though there's still an underlying feeling of irritation to it]
It would probably be best that we return indoors. I don't think I'm quite up to a fourth round.
[In Person]
[He's keeping a watch out over the fog, including glances back behind him just in case, and going to head for the door, although he is making sure Mukuro is nearby; if whatever power he's using that's keeping him healthy cuts out, he's not going to just abandon the man.]
Re: [In Person]
So, I believe you said your name was Saguru Hakuba?
[He glances at his cheek, looking rather bemused, but alas he must turn it into feigned sincerity. ah such an effort~ though the game wouldn't be half as fun without it..]
I'm terribly sorry, I seemed to have nicked you back there.
[In Person]
[And if you did and there was a reason for it beyond just amusement, he's going to find a way to make your life miserable later.]
Ah, it's much preferable to whatever that thing had planned if I hadn't managed to get lose.
Re: [In Person]
[After all that work too. In fact the use of his powers has left him so tired, he can't help but let out a nice drawn out yawn. He's so taking a nap after this...]
Ah, excuse me.
[In Person]
Re: [In Person]
[And that may very well be the most honest thing you'll hear out of Mukuro's mouth... probably for a very long time. He's too tired to fabricate any lies that he feels he could maintain later... besides he's still withholding MORE THEN ENOUGH information to prevent it from being anything useful anyway]
[In Person]
[And depending on where the rooms are in relation...]
[OOC: ... :| They're on the SAME HALLWAY.]
Re: [In Person]
[SMILES~]
[In Person]
[Yes, yes, you're right near his room, so is one of their main critics, another troublemaker and Shiki are one floor up, and there've been other dangerous people in his hallway. This is not going to bother him.]
Re: [In Person]
Well then, until next time, I bid you farewell.
[He dips his head slightly in a small casual bow, before turning to walk down his end of the hall. But he pauses for a moment to glance over his shoulder with a smug grin.]
Do try to stay alive.
[The statement is said with honest sincerity.... though for all the wrong reasons....]
Oh, don't take it personally. The Author's probably just mad at her teachers or something. [he laughs like this is the funniest thing in the world, high and nasal and just slightly crazy]
Re: [Video]
[He chuckles]
So who might you be? I don't believe we've met.
You know...I'd love to stay and chat, but I think I need to go hide behind the couch now.
[The feed cuts out]
