Page Thirteen || Month of my life [Video]
[When Light wakes up this morning, he feels, for once, well rested. Stretching as he rolls out of bed, he grabs his phone to check the time. However, it's not the time that alarms him, it's the date. The thirtieth of May? He rubs his eyes furiously, suddenly very awake. Had he really spent a month sleeping? He had heard of people falling asleep for a week at the Manor, but surely not an entire month. He certainly didn't feel any differently- his hair for one, didn't seem to have grown any longer, nor had his fingernails for that matter. Bolting up right, he quickly gets himself dressed. A few minutes later, the feed clicks on to show Light Yagami looking somewhat bemused.]
I don't suppose someone might be willing to fill me in on what happened? I...[He clears his throat.] seem to have been knocked unconscious for an extended period of time. Thank you.

Re: [Audio/Private] [Unhackable]
He wouldn't have expected any outright recognition. This wasn't back in Los Angeles where they both knew of each other's existence in a give and take - well more take really, but whatever - type way. Here, however, at the manor, some seem to arrive with an advantage over others in how much they know. How much they remember. His arrival verses L's is evidence enough of this.
And thus, despite the simple fact that considering there had been multiple versions of himself to pass through here it was highly unlikely any version of Light didn't know something about him, it would be foolish for Light to rush forward with any information he might have concerning Mello and thus lose an opportunity to feel out what Mello knows or what his intentions were.
Well two could play that game
three if you HAVE to count Near]The apocolypse would be such an unfortunate thing to miss. [You should know, Kira.]
[Audio/Private] [Unhackable]
So then really, what is the best approach here? He frowns slightly as he considers his options. An olive branch- or at least a fake one- would be one way of doing it but considering the personalities of the former Mello's, it didn't seem likely at all to end in success. Frustrating.]
Then I shall hope you live to experience it.
Re: [Audio/Private] [Unhackable]
[If by 'experience the apocalypse' you mean that you'd like to see him dead. But that day has not come yet, and if its meant to come soon, this little hostage deal going down at the manor might possibly buy him some more time if he can work it just right. ]
So tell me, how is that family of yours?

Ironically enough, had a previous incarnation of Mello not brought up the fact that he was responsible for Light's father's death, Light may have interpreted this question slightly differently- perhaps as a threat against Sayu's wellbeing at the Manor, which would regardless have been equally poorly tolerated--which is to say, not at all-- but no. Light knows better. Mockery. This is nothing but mockery.
The previous one actually took sick pleasure in describing the events that transpired, down to every sordid detail. An honorable man like his father didn't deserve that kind of death, he didn't deserve to be killed by this pathetic cockroach-- no, he deserved to see Light's vision of the world, actualized: A world of peace. In other words, a world where brats like Mello were all dead.
It's this thought and this thought alone, that keeps Light going. No matter how annoying he is in the present, back home, Mello is dead and disfigured to boot. Light has confirmed that with his own eyes, thanks to the arrival of the second incarnation of the damn brat. It's doubly fitting that Mello's animal metaphor is a cockroach really, because in addition to the fact that he's one of L's goddamn successors, every time the Author got rid of one, another one would take its damn place. Damn things just refused to stay dead. A deep breath in. Slow exhale. Rinse and repeat. His fists unclench, and the moment passes. His voice comes through casually enough to avoid sounding forced.]
I'm sure they're alright, thank you. While you're here, however, I'd like to request that you stay away from my sister. Call it her impressionable age, but I'd rather not have her picking up any of your habits. [Very cooly.] Chocolate isn't exactly the world's healthiest diet.
Re: Audio; Perpetually unhackable
Oh don't worry, I have no more use for your sister [Mello's not one for repeat plans, after all, and what good would kidnapping the chick here do?] Or even you for that matter. [This may or may not be a lie for the moment - he's still deciding. There are a few things he needs to research first.]
Just a bit bored so I thought I'd say hello to an old friend [He snarls, dropping the nice tone.]
Re: Audio; Perpetually unhackable
The feeling of a heart torn in two separate directions is an unusual one; Light despises it. Sorrow conflicts with anger; anger wins. Hatred, moreover, targeted hatred serves as a distraction- it doesn't require introspection and self pity- but then...
What if he's lying? The brat has to be lying. Bait. Mello wants to make Light react blindly and say something stupid. To lose focus. Light pinches the bridge of his nose.
It's silent on Light's end of the conversation as he considers this possibility; the sounds of breathing are the only indication that Light hasn't hung up yet. Chaotic whirs of thoughts and the beginnings of plans to have the brat murdered without the Death Note. Could he do it? He's gotten away with murder before-- the idiots hadn't figured out Tom Hanson's death, what were the odds they would solve Mello's? Then again, he'd been protected by anonymity back then. Light Yagami had no reason to kill Tom. Kira had many reasons to want Mello dead. With Near and L around in such a small environment, it would prove to be more of a challenge. He's been in need of one too. ]
How kind. I'll be sure to give you as much consideration as you give me in the future.
