Page Thirteen || Month of my life [Video]
[When Light wakes up this morning, he feels, for once, well rested. Stretching as he rolls out of bed, he grabs his phone to check the time. However, it's not the time that alarms him, it's the date. The thirtieth of May? He rubs his eyes furiously, suddenly very awake. Had he really spent a month sleeping? He had heard of people falling asleep for a week at the Manor, but surely not an entire month. He certainly didn't feel any differently- his hair for one, didn't seem to have grown any longer, nor had his fingernails for that matter. Bolting up right, he quickly gets himself dressed. A few minutes later, the feed clicks on to show Light Yagami looking somewhat bemused.]
I don't suppose someone might be willing to fill me in on what happened? I...[He clears his throat.] seem to have been knocked unconscious for an extended period of time. Thank you.

Business as usual here, really. [Ah, jaded sarcasm.]

...I see. I'm glad to see you well, then. [Kind of.] Does anyone have any idea what the plot is this week, then?

Considering the Author, I'm not sure that a permanent change is necessarily a blessing. Has anyone explored the new areas yet? It might be a good idea to go in groups, in case there is more to this than a simple expansion.

Depending on how much area's been added, it may take some time to ferret out any surprises; I do think it's likely to be a permanent addition - there's nothing consistent with any given genre or specific sort of story to what she's added, and while I've seen environments like this in some radioactive-giant-monster movies, it'd be a break in the usual pattern of introducing an environment and then the more intense plot to go with it, or continuing a plot from a "trip" without any interruptions or lull.

It would make sense if the changes were permanent. In addition to what you've mentioned, usually the Author prefers to change the environment entirely by sending us all to a pre-existing location, rather than actually using the brain cells to come up with an idea that's uniquely her own.
Honestly, I can't help but wonder what the point to this is. While I won't complain about having more breathing space, it's not as though either of these additions- beach, desert, if I'm hearing correctly- would provide her with much entertainment from her end. Watching people build sand castles, or whatever it may be can't possibly be as amusing as say, setting dinosaurs loose and watching the aftermath.

Perhaps she's experimenting around with ideas to change how she's handling this place.
