[Well, naturally Hayato was notoriously terrible with children, and with his condition his patience was stretched even thinner then usual. It probably took all of ten minutes of being in the room with the kid before he got fed up with it and tried to throw his shoe at it , so of course Hayato had been baby-ified like the rest of the bad mommy's out there.

And his child self had some serious business to take care of! After bothering about several people with his child nonsense he finally thought to get practicing for his upcoming piano recital! Hoping that if he was good enough, maybe he wouldn't have to eat his sister's cookies again...

So Hayato had found the music room and plopped himself down to play the first piece he could find. Of course he's no professional, he messes up here and there, but considering his age and the complexity of the piece he's rather gifted. Anyone in the general vicinity of the music room is free to come listen, and bother him.]

WOAAAH!!!! You're extrawemely good at playing the piano!! You should be a musician when you grow up!!

[Kid!Ryohei comes over and starts to randomly smash E7 on the piano. ~~Isn't it soothing?!~~]

[Oh god, loud thing, what is this? He jumps at Ryohei's suddenly loud and boisterous appearance... and then the blatant piano abuse.]

You're hitting it too hard! You'll break it!

[Gokudera grabs the boy's hand to stop him from this attack on his piano!This was a mafia piano! He wasn't allowed to break it!]

[...]

[Ryohei pulls his hand away from Gokudera's grasp.]

Stop touching me...you...you extwemely big fat mean EIGHTAPUS-HEAD.

[He resumes smashing the piano. You'll have to use some more force than a hand grab Gokudera...]

I'm not an eightapus, stupid Moss-head!

[And now this spoiled little rich kid is going to try to PUSH Ryohei away from his mafia piano with all the force he can! Which is next to none....]

I said stop it! It's going to break!

I'm not a moss-head you eightapus-head!!! STOP CALLING ME MEAN NAMES!! [~~Hurray for hypocrisy!!!~~]

[He's too angry about the shove to pull his attention back to piano key smashing. Ryohei gives an EXTREMELY MANRY shove of his own to Gokudera. He looks proud of himself. ]

TAKE THAT EVIL-DOER!!!

Then stop hurting my piano!

[And of course Hayato being the strong manly child he is, topples right off the bench. He's fine of course, but oh that is a bad case of hurt feelings ~~yes he still has feelings at this point~~ you have on your hands Ryohei.

There's a sniff, then a whine, then his lower lip starts to tremble, then oh there are some tears]

I-I'm n-not an e-evil-d-doer! I-I'M G-GOING TO TELL P-PAPA ON YOU!

[Ryohei wasn't actually expecting that EXTREMELY MANRY shove to actually make Gokudra topple off the bench. He feels kind of bad now.]

A-ARE YOU OKAY? I'M EXTWEMELY SOR-

[...aaand then he sees the tears. Oh boy oh boy.]

[Because shouting totally helps:]STOP CWYING!! A TRUE MAN DOESN'T CRY UNTIL THINGS GET EXTWEMELY BAD!! ....But I guess a twue man also doesn't make other people cwy.... [He offers a tiny hand to help Gokudera get back up.] I'm extwemely sorry about that. I shouldn't have shoved you....or hurt your piano...or called you an evil do-er...or an eightapus-head...even if you really do look like you have an eightapus on your head...

I'm Wyohei. Asasaga-- Sasasa-- Sasagawa Wyohei. What's your name eigh-- [He abruptly stops there hoping Gokudera wouldn't hear that accidental "eightapus-head" he was about to say.]

[Hayato had half a mind to smack the offered hand away... but he DID say he was sorry... Well, he could let it go this one time. He takes the hand and stands back up, then dust off his ~~dorky little rich boy~~ clothes]

H-Hayato Gokudera...

[The sniffs and wibbles subside and he wipes the tears away]

Sorry I called you Moss-head.

~~[Yeah you better be.]~~

It's fine eighta--- Hayato!! [..What was with this burning urge to use the name "eightapus-head"?]

It was my fault for hurting the piano in the first place. That was extwemely not manly of me. How'd you get so good at the piano anyways? All I can play is this! [He starts to "play" merry had a little lamb...except with a disgustingly large number of mistakes and mess ups. Not to mention he's also not playing it in the right key. In fact, it doesn't even sound like merry had a little lamb. Yay for being tone-deaf and musically untalented!]

[It's been a repeated lesson that's been drilled into Gaara's brain that if he makes his appearance known, people stop playing and run away. Because he kind of likes this music, he listens as quietly and unobtrusively as he can from the doorway, though when he accidentally leans against the door, it creaks audibly.]

[The creaking catches his attention and he pauses to turn around. It was someone his age! He smiles, tilting his head a little curiously. He was used to giving performances, but people were usually closer!]

Hi! What are you doing way over there?

[Hayato cringes as Ryohei plays]

The nice piano lady taught me. She said you need gentle hands to play the piano. Here you're doing it wrong, it starts here-

[Hayato (gently) pressed the first key]

then it's like this.

[And he plays the first few notes (GENTLY)]

[Kid!Ryohei is excruciatingly tone-deaf, so he does not hear the difference between his...rendition of "Mary had a Little Lamb" and the correct version of "Mary had a Little Lamb."]

That's what I just played except louder!! You're extwemely good at playing the piano, but you're not really good at teaching it...

[The Doctor is out of the TARDIS for now- and he's got the little two year old boy he's been entrusted with, with him :D]

[He notices the kid that looks strikingly like that teen that doesn't seem to like him and raises an eyebrow]

Well done! You must be a natural [now might be a good time to talk to him... at least... as much as possible.]

...hm?

[Hayato turns around to look at the stranger. Well, he was used to preforming in front of an audience. He was looked at as a prodigy after all, people would come to hear him play.... even if it was usually drug-induced..]

Thank you.

[He bows his head politely]

[Oh no. Gaara was seen, but... this boy isn't afraid? Gaara takes a half step away from the door, but still keeps his distance. Though he really wants to go try playing on the thing that made such pretty noises.]

Sorry.

[Awkward foot shuffle.]

I didn't mean to bother you... I- I can leave you alone!

No, you played it all wrong here, listen to the difference.

[Hayato leans over to hit a high F sharp, then a low one]

See? IT sounds different. It's a higher pitch, but it's the same note. If you play it in the wrong pitch then it's like using your outdoor voice inside.

[Because Ryohei is TOTALLY going to understand the "indoor voice" concept...]

[Gokudera giggles, what a funny shy boy!]

It's okay! I'm used to playing in front of people! But it's probably easier to hear if you're in here!

Ah, that was-uh... That lullaby wasn't it? From that movie? I've seen far too many of those lately.

[He shrugs]

I just found the music. It was the only one I could play.

[This is the complete opposite of what treatment Gaara is used to receiving at Sunagakure, and it's with a guilty pang on Yashamaru's behalf that Gaara has to admit that he almost... doesn't want to go back. Maybe if he could find a way to bring Yashamaru here...? He beams as he moves closer to the boy.]

Okay! ...I've never seen that before... [Pointing at the sound generating thing.] What is it called? It makes such pretty noises...

[Ryuutaro has sat down somewhere to listen. Hayato playing the piano. After all that piano-mafia talking he really had to see that. The fortune-teller doesn't know much about music, but he's rather amazed at Hayato's skills. If the kid version already was that good, then his teenage version... But then again considering the personality of Hayato's older self he might have stopped playing. Which would be a shame.

When Hayato finishes the piece, Ryuutaro starts applauding for the boy]

[He looks surprised for a moment. He's never seen a piano? It wasn't exactly an uncommon instrument. How sad. It was such a beautiful instrument.]

It's called a piano, you've never seen one before?

[Gokudera swirls around on the bench so he's facing gaara, swinging his legs cheerfully]

It's an instrument! Want me to show you how to play it?

[When Hayato notices he had and audience, for his performance, and slips off his chair and gives a bow like he always did. Only this time he's giggling, his friend was there! He never performed for a friend before!]

[Ryuutaro is endlessly amused by the differences between the younger and the older Hayato. At the same time he really appreciates the little one's manners.]

That was fantastic!
