(no subject)

Well, this seems to be a strange occurrence. I appear to have found myself far away from the hotel I fell asleep in.

I have to say: The technology is easy enough to figure out. Even though it is far more detailed and intriguing than I am accustomed to. I take
it this is some form of communication network.

Is there anyone out there that can give me answers? I promise I won’t take too much of your time.

They're called blackberries. Don't ask me why, I've no clue. [She's reaching up to absently pet at Chime, who is curled around her neck like some sort of demented necklace.] You probably wouldn't believe the truth of it if I told you- I can assure you that it sounds quite mad.

As far as I can tell, we're in the story of some overpowered, scarcely-controlled ambient mage whose power expresses itself through writing. Worse, she's not particularly good at her craft. [Charming smile has no effect on Tris!]

Essentially, yes. [Chime lifts her head up and makes a low, scraping-glass noise.] I think your pacing is bothering her.

This'll be the least strange thing you come across here. Enjoy it while it lasts. [Don't you love an optimist.]

[Saguru is far too used to giving the welcome speech by now... also still a little worn out from the Titanic.]

Welcome to the Manor. I'm sure this may sound quite insane, but from all the evidence we have so far, everyone here except the talking rabbit outside has been kidnapped from their own worlds and times by some unknown teenage girl who is only aware of all of us as fictional characters; you're correct that the Blackberry connects to a communication network. The good news is that the Author is not actively malicious as far as I can tell, nor is she as bad as she could be, the bad news is she has a fondness for dramatics and is basically a small child with an ant farm.

If you'd gotten here a little earlier you'd have been treated to a re-enactment of the sinking of the Titanic. [This is a very long-suffering deadpan that is almost too used to this crap by now.]

She's a glass dragon- a magical accident that happened to be a most triumphant example to convince a student I had that he was, indeed, a mage. [Tris rubs her fingers under Chime's chin, earning that strange glass-armonica purr.]

[Question it and she will give you the Most Triumphant Example of an ambient mage.] That she is. Not many ambient mages break out in ways that create a thing of beauty, instead of destroying things or scaring people.

No, the chick that brought us here likes to mess with us like that. She gave us an untrackable, unkillable psycho at one time - the sort that's in really bad horror movies.

The hell if I know. bitch has been the hell in my head [which he still wants to kill her for - that much will be very clear in his tone] and I still don't understand half the shit she does.

...We were on the titanic a few days ago. It sunk. [:|]

[That's about where he realizes that he was letting the frazzled show.]

Ah, apologies. It's no trouble at all really, and if you have any questions, it's quiet and peaceful for now; we've found that it's better for everyone's safety to make sure people have - at least some idea what's going on as soon as possible, besides just common courtesy and us all being stuck in the same boat.

[And there's a small grimace as he realizes what he just said.] Most of the "changes of scenery" from what you seem now seem to be mock-ups - mimicries of whatever's caught her interest, although it doesn't make the north Atlantic any less cold, or zombie hordes any less of a problem. About the one saving grace for sanity is that for some reason, death isn't permanent here; unpleasant, horrible, and still to be avoided, but... people do come back. I wish I could explain how it works, but - whatever bizarre corner of quantum metaphysics she's abusing isn't my specialty at all.

Where I'm from, there are two sorts of mages. Academic mages, who are likely what you think when I say mages, and ambient mages, who are born with power expressed through a specific thing- such as plants, glass, all sorts of thread-working, smithing- and even the weather. Most people tend to underestimate the more subtle touch of an ambient mage... [Unless you're about as subtle as a brick, the way she is.]

[Having heard someone talking quite happily to themselves (so it seems), Elphaba opens her door, and notices Charles. Aaah, he was posting to the network. That explained the talking at least..]

You probably won't like any answers you get

Well, this isn't a very nice hotel if it was. I can't seem to find a way out.
