Mary Winchester | 05 | [In Person]
[Things seemed to be back to normal this week. No weird little animal/monsters, so sinking ship...just the manor. As though one could say the manor itself was normal...perhaps she could make it a little more normal?
She hadn't seen anyone awake yet, so perhaps she could do something for the other inhabitants while she was clinging to a sense of normalcy. Besides, with seeing young ones on her blackberry, she was sure they could do with a real breakfast, especially after being taken from their homes. Most of the adults seemed like they could cook for themselves...not that they weren't welcome, they were just more capable that the smaller inhabitants, particularly as far as making a hot meal went.
Making sure there was no one else in the kitchen, she got the necessary pots and pans, humming softly as she started cooking. An hour later, Mary was visibly happy, a bright smile across her face as she set out general breakfast foods...she may have made a little to much, but it was just too easy to forget she wasn't at home doing this.
Moving to the sink, she started cleaning the dirty pans. She was sure they would eventually clean themselves, but she couldn't just leave dirty dishes.]

I just don't want you getting bored is all. A place like this? I'm sure there are more interesting things to do than keep me company.

You're really amazing, you know that?

I don't really see how wanting to spend time with you spurred that little piece of recognition, though.

I'm just surprised that at your age, you still enjoy spending time with me. I like it..you're different from what I remember, but so much about you is the same.
I just...It may sound horrible, but I don't have that with Sammy.
Don't tell him any of this. [The last thing she wanted was him thinking that she didn't care about him. She loved him, he was just different is all.] But, when I met him, it was almost like meeting a stranger. I know he's mine, but...at the same time, I have nothing to compare him with. Do you understand?

But telling and living is two different things.

Taking a breath, she pushed back the self loathing that almost continuously threatened to overtake her. Offering a small sad smile, she turned back to the stove, making sure nothing burned.]
I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said anything.

It's a sweet offer, Dean. I just don't want you to have to deal with my problems along with anything else you may be going through.

No, no, that's not the way it works. He's there for the whole family, taking all their burdens and all their shit as well as his own until he breaks, and hope to God that happens in private because damn it all, he's gotta be the strong one for all of youHe nods] I know. [doesn't mean he will]
