001 + SASHA NEIN [TEXT]

[A line of text appears as it seems someone is testing out their blackberry.] Testing. 1. 2. 3. |

Hello. I am Agent Sasha Nein. I am assuming I have been kidnapped, and that you know what is going on. |

[At least this ‘Sasha’ isn’t flipping out or cursing over all of this. He also knows that other people have information, and is perhaps, hoping someone will offer him some.]

I have already explored the building to the best of my abilities, but considering how vast it is, I know I did not see any of the occupants here, even though there is proof such as the names on the door that there are others here. My fellow Kidnapped, then? |

...Where you're from - does that usually entail some sort of created dimension, or more like a very persistent illusion? [As much as Mist-users COULD create temporary spaces, it was ephemeral and dependent on the focus of the Illusionist...even someone like Mukuro would be hard-pressed to do it for an extended period of time, and it was usually much smaller. And if the Author was capable of something like the Vendice...]

We have people in our world with something like that ability; a strong one can basically warp reality on a temporary basis so long as they can put will behind the image - [He frowns deeply, a very strangely grave expression on such a tiny form.]

In fact, three of the most powerful in our world are here. [It's something where he doesn't mind letting it be visible that he's a bit unsettled by this; someone out-doing Mammon and Mukuro for an unknown length of time is slightly terrifying, particularly if they could do it without realizing it.] Theoretically, my student or any of the four "illusionists" here should be able to tell the difference between a persistent illusion and something that's "real"...

My bet's on this place being real too - I know our Mist-users, and it'd take a small god to keep them fooled for long without them just taking over the illusion and aiming it back at whoever'd gotten stupid enough to try it. [Come to think of it, technically, with what Daemon Spade had turned into...]

That's the part that bothers me though. [He spares a couple glances down the hallway, making sure it's still dead quiet, and he's dropping his voice.] See, I've dealt with one person back home who could see across timelines - and that was because of something special... and it was alternate timelines of ours - places there was an alternate self of his to be aware of. We're from pretty different worlds, and everybody else here is mostly from other places, some of them even more different.

Giant red dragon hanging out on the roof a few days ago. [Which should've said plenty.] There was the loopy Commodore ranting about pirates that I think was from some time mid-1800's, too.

If she was something like Byakuran, and it took her having met us all? Then she'd have to have versions in every single world one of us here is from, and not even be in the same point on the timeline.

I'm not sure. See, the only thing where I'm from that can mess with dimensional warps? They're not exactly normal people, and you don't mess with them, so this is new territory for me.

How familiar would someone have to be to pull the teleport thing where you're from?

And if they were doing it illegally? [Because whatever's going on here? Is probably not "legal" anywhere that has a code for such things.]

[That bothers him, too.] Which would mean this Author would probably have to be at least somewhat familiar to everyone here, somewhere - and able to mentally overpower everyone here.

I'm wondering if there isn't some kind of "option three" we just both wouldn't know about.

Dragon. [And really, there being a dragon hanging around probably meant they couldn't rule out the paranormal and some less scientific options.] I haven't been here that long myself - sounds like we fish for if anyone might remember someone back home who might be odd, or if anybody else has a better idea.

Would the victim know they were getting yanked?

Hm. I'd say more investigation and seeing what other people have found is our best bet - I've at least got some people I know from home here; I need to see if I can bargain anything out of Mammon, or if my student has a head start on who'd be good to talk to. [Tsuna was a bright kid, sure, but investigation wasn't really his strong suit - connections with people, however...]

And the one I'd warned you about - although how helpful he'd be ... might be iffy. [Not that he mistrusts Mukuro or anything, but he'd feel safer bargaining with a starving hound for the safe protection of a juicy steak without supervision.]
