[After letting a rather distinctive scream from the morgue of the manor, Hayato had hastily scrambled up to the main floor. Shakily, he wandered through the halls, completely disoriented and very jumpy. He had his hands defensively wrapped around his stomach which is slathered in dried blood, as are his pants, and right shoulder.

After stumbling about the halls for a while he simply leans against the wall and slides down it into a sitting position as he tried to wrap his head around what happened...]

[Ryuutaro had been feeling like a zombie all those last days, trying to keep up with all his usual mannerisms and failing horribly. Nothing seemed to work out. Sleep didn't happen those two days, he just jumped awake the time he tried to and food? Ryuutaro didn't even waste his energy trying, least of all with the memories of Hayato making him eat things in his mind.
He'd been crying a lot, not knowing what to do and how to deal with what he felt.
Not even his make-up looked good as he mindlessly walked down the hallway to see... oh god, could it be?
Ryuutaro stops dead in his tracks and his legs start shaking.]

H-hayato...?

[Is this... reality? Ryuutaro's unable to believe it just yet]

[The teen jumped and snapped his head up when he heard the sound of his name being called. He stared a Ryuutaro a bit vacantly for a moment, his mind just not working the way it should.

It was Ryuutaro. Hayato awkwardly scrambled to his feet, not taking his eyes off the boy in front of him, in fear if he did so much as blink the boy would disappear. He opened his mouth as though he were trying to speak, but he couldn't find the words. Ryuutaro could help him. He always helped him.

Unsure of what it was he needed help with he stumbled forwards towards the other boy]

[A part of Ryuutaro is horribly scared. He wants to turn and run, run, run. Hayato disappeared once and it had heard to much, so, so, so much, who told him that it wasn't going to happen again, that they'd be fine this time? Ryuutaro was so scared and for just a moment he stays where he is, staring with wide eyes.

But this is Hayato. He's here. Right in front of him. Moving. Nothing like that horribly lifeless thing he'd spent so many hours with. And he couldn't do a thing as a single tear rolled down his face.
This was Hayato.
And then he is moving towards him, slowly at first, then faster, until he can bury his face against the other boy's chest, tangle his hands up in the other boy's clothes and finally feel his heartbeat.
He doesn't even realize that he should be afraid of touching, that he should back down from such closeness. All he knows is that what he feels here is a sign of life and that this time he wouldn't let go off Hayato]

[And in that moment of contact Hayato flung his arms around Ryuutaro, clutching the fabric of his clothes for dear life. He was scared. He didn't know what to do, he could feel just how badly he was shaking, even through his tight grip on Ryuutaro. But he knew the person in his arms. He trusted him. He would be okay...]

R-Ryuutaro....

[He leaned his head down on Ryuutaro's shoulder and buried his face in the fabric of his clothes.]

[No matter how tightly Hayato held him, this time it couldn't ever be too much or too close. Hayato was here, he was alive and as long as Ryuutaro could feel this, feel that he wasn't going to leave again, it was alright.
Ryuutaro felt himself shake as well and he just pressed himself into Hayato's embrace as an attempt to steady himself]

...you're back...

[He loved the taste of the word 'back' at this moment]

And... y-you're warm.

[The most beautiful feeling]

[Hayato tensed up a bit at the first statement. He was "back"... which meant he left... which brought to the forefront of his mind what the last thing he remembered was. The pain. The fear.

The broken promises.

His shaking suddenly became worse as he suddenly felt overwhelmed with shame]

I'm sorry.... I-I'm sorry... I'm so sorry...

[Ryuutaro violently shook his head. Even if he'd had those moments where he felt like screaming at Hayato for not being there, when he promised to be there, it had still been fate]

N-no... Stop this.. It's not your fault.

[It had been fate. And who had he been to think they could defy it? How stupid was that? Ryuutaro removed his hands from Hayato's chest and now wrapped his arms around Hayato tightly, anything to stop that shaking... even if his own body was far from being stable]

but i-it is... I wasn't strong enough...

[And he lets out a little noise as he chokes back a sob. He couldn't cry again. He was already weak enough... he couldn't break down again. He had to be stronger then this... but he felt so worthless... if he couldn't give his word... then what could he give? How could Ryuutaro trust him again after this?]

I'm so s-sorry...I broke my promise...

It's not your fault... it's not...

[Ryuutaro felt like he could do nothing more than repeat it again and again. Because what could he do? He wanted to make Hayato promise to never leave him again, but how wrong would that feel? He couldn't possibly say something like that]

F-fate is just... too cruel... it's not your fault...

B-but I promised... I promised I would change it... I-I'm so sorry...

[Because he wasn't strong enough. He was already useless to the Tenth as his right hand man... now he was too weak to even keep himself alive. He was pathetic. But even feeling so, he couldn't even think of pulling himself away from Ryuutaro. He needed him. He needed that that comforting. He was terrified that he would wither away again... that he wouldn't be able to remain alive... that this wasn't permanent...]

I broke my promise to the Tenth... I broke the promises I made to you... I-I failed you both... I'm sorry... I'm sorry...

[Wandering quietly through the halls, Mary kept watching for any angels or something just as bad. The boys were back, she had to try to make sure the manor was safe. For them.

What she didn't expect was to see a bloody and frantic Gokudera. Not paying any mind to how dangerous and volatile the boy was, she quickly moved closer, hitting her knees as soon as she was close enough to him, her hands rising to gently grasp his chin.]

Gokudera? What happened? Look at me.

[What the hell was the point. Her best friend was dead...if she'd just went to him at the beginning of this damn plot, he'd have been just fine. She wouldn't have let anything hurt him, not ever. Stalking through the halls, she pitied anyone who got in her way.

Looking up on a whim, she paused as she saw Gokudera. Eyes widening, her scowl fell into a confused look.]

...'Dera?

[Moving forward, a well trained eye would be able to see her shaking slightly. He was dead, how could he still be alive? It made no sense to her at all...]

[The teen jumps at the sudden contact and tries to back himself further against the wall. He's wide-eyed and trembling, and his grip around his stomach tightens.

and he just stares, almost vacantly at Mary, he recognizes her, but... he doesn't appear to be all there at the moment.]

[He doesn't respond for a moment, as it takes him a moment to come to the realization that his name was called. Slowly he looks up at Temari, and just stares at her... he looks exhausted, and his expression is vacant.]

[Shit...where was help when you needed it? Softening her voice, she ran a hand through his hair in what she hoped was a soothing manner.]

Hey, hey...I'm sorry. C'mon, can you tell me what happened?

[He doesn't respond to the touch at first... but then there's a comforting familiar feeling about it. Before everything blacked out he was pet like that... and it was calming and nice...

So he leans his head forward just a bit to let her continue.]


[At her question he tenses up... then tries to open his mouth to talk, only to find that no sound came out. He froze for a moment, then bit his lips, then once more brought his knees to his chest and just buried his face in them]

[Pleased that he calmed down slightly, she focused on just getting him to relax. She could look at his injuries in a moment, once she was sure that he wouldn't panic on her.

Scooting forward slightly, she brought her arms around the crumpled boy, holding him gently to her chest. Any other day, she'd be worried he'd put dynamite in her shirt, but...she didn't think she had to worry about that right now.]

Shh~ Just relax, baby...it's okay. I've got you now...I've got you...

[He jumped and tensed up at first, not expecting this, and certainly not used to being held. But again... the feeling was familiar... so after a moment, he leaned into the hug and shut his eyes tight. Though his hands don't leave his stomach. He still was shaking horribly as well... he didn't even realize it until he was held...]

[Mercy sakes...what had happened to scare this poor child so?

Brushing her face over his head, she kissed his hair softly. He was so different from the brash angry child that she'd known.] Where's the blood coming from, sweetheart? Are you hurt?

[Warily she walked up to him and set a hand on his shoulder. Warm...he was warm. A stark contrast to how cold he'd been the last time she'd seen him.]

You're alive? But...how?

[The blood... right... it was everywhere... he remembered how it smelled. His blood. Slowly... very slowly he pulls his arms off his stomach as though he were afraid he would begin to bleed again. But the blood is so thick and dried it looks black. When he pulls his arms back, much of the dried blood sticks to his pale arms.

Over his stomach is a rip in his shirt- a large rip. The largest clod of dried blood keeping his shirt stuck to his body. He just stared at it.... then he began to shake more violently.

He died. That... statue... it killed him.]

Ah... I.. I....

[His voice was small and weak... still unable to form complete words]

[Pulling back enough to see his stomach as he pulled his arms away, she reached down to rub a finger over where his would should be. He wasn't still hurt, that was good. Now it simply left the question of what happened to him.

Glancing around the hallway, she couldn't treat him in the open. She needed to get him somewhere safe first.

Standing slowly, she bent over to grab his arms; not puling, just encouraging him.]

Gokudera, listen to me. I need to get you out of here before those things find us, okay?

[She wouldn't leave him though. If she had to, she'd sit in the hallway with him until he was ready to move.]

[He jumped at her touch... even though he had seen it coming. God, he was such a mess. He opened his mouth to try and speak but found it was dry and horse. He looks down and coughs, the remains of the blood leaving a familiar metallic taste in his mouth.]

[When she touched the wound he quickly covered his stomach up again and backed away... what if... what if it reopened? What if he started bleeding again? He didn't want to hurt again... he didn't want that cold feeling again. He didn't want to hear that crying. That crying... someone had been crying...

Distracted from his panic about his injury as he tried to recall his last moments, he allows her to ease him to his feet. He sways and stumbles, and ends up leaning back against the wall.]

[She knew the signs of panic well enough, she just had to remember to take things slow with him. Stepping forward, she eases an arm around him slowly, urging him to follow where she led. First things first, get him to a room...after that? She'd try to get some food into him.

Not knowing where his room was, she decided to lead him to her room. Also, if she needed help with him, she only had to call across the hall. She'd escort him to his if he wanted to go once he felt a little more like himself.

Making her way to her bedroom without incident, she eased the door open and led him inside.]

Sit on the bed...I'll see if I have something that you can wear.

[They weren't too different in height and if all else failed, he could use a pair of her pajamas. At least they weren't bloody.]
